The experiences came from the most unexpected directions from areas where you assumed you knew pretty much all there was to know. In most individuals, it appears that Saturn dominates Chiron in this aspect. Instead of the person using a planet as a tool to bring about Chironian objectives of balance, healing, and the like, as in other Chiron sextiles, with Saturn, there is a tendency to use Chiron as a tool to bring about Saturnian objectives. Note that I said ‘tendency’ many people rise above this and allow Chiron to shape their Saturn. This is because there is a wound coming from some ‘agenda’, or ‘appropriate course of action’, or some set of rules that had to be followed and it was this ‘right’ course that was stressed above all else.

Depending on how you have begun to heal from this stifling influence, it may express itself in one of two ways. You may be a Saturn-type, or a Chiron-type. The Saturn-type wants to bring about changes in structures, or in society, that help rid them of faults (as you see them), in order to make them more truly Saturnian, that is, to make them more correct, or more the way things ‘should’ be. If you have gone in this direction, you tend to see Saturn (structuring, correct thought/correct ideas/correct actions) as the most important part of day-to-day existence, while you see Chiron (opening doors, finding ways to heal, finding unique ways of doing things) as a tool to be used to benefit Saturn. If this is you, you may truly appreciate the virtues of the individual, but only as she/he can be utilized to improve life in some way without altering the basic scheme of things.

The Chiron-type wants to Chiron-ize Saturn, to bring about changes in the basic structures of things within society to bring about fairness, rectify imbalances, and open opportunities. If this is you, then you will use any conventional methods that may seem necessary to achieve your goals but will not restrict yourself only to them; any means that works will be justified. Therefore it is possible that this urge will lead you into an 'alternate' discipline, one that complements what is generally accepted. This could lead you into the areas of unorthodox healing or therapy, unusual education, or alternative philosophies. Your challenge is to integrate these with your chosen profession without the stigma of feeling an outsider. Ironically you find your place in embracing these alternate ideas in the system you are in. It is alsoimportant to recognise that it is your wound and vulnerability that lead you to your vocation, not away from it.

Chiron square Venus

Everyone, male and female, has a feminine side; an anima or animus. With Chiron square Venus, there is a lot of pain deep within connected with this part of our nature. Any aspect between Chiron and Venus shows that there were major issues dealing with your sexual role, and/or your relationship with members of the opposite sex. When this aspect expresses negatively, it can be the most extreme case of being unable to deal with one’s own anima or animus as the case may be.

Perhaps you were if a male ridiculed for your feminine side as a child. Or perhaps you were not allowed to indulge in it. (I’ve seen, for example, cases where a male child was discouraged from doing things like painting, or enjoying poetry, made to feel these were ‘not appropriate’ for boys.) Another possibility is the other extreme, that you were judged for being too male, having too much ‘testosterone’, so to speak.

The healing begins when you embrace your feminine side, and find a way to balance it with your masculine side, bringing about wholeness. When the wound is really intense, I have seen some males with extreme ‘macho’ behaviour along with a lot of difficult relationships, and other males going in the exact opposite direction, becoming super-feminine and still having trouble with relationships.

This aspect does give you a completely unique taste in the arts,such that it could lead you to create a whole new style or school of art, if you express the artiste within you. You find beauty in objects others may overlook, look down on, or close their eyes to. When it comes to personal value systems, yours is distinctly unique. Many people with this aspect follow their own path privately within society; others leave society altogether. For some there arises a personal imperative to show society where and how it is wrong to teach others about false values versus true values.

Chiron opposition Uranus

Between 1952 and 1989 Chiron exactly opposed Uranus forty-one times, and was in orb of opposition for just about everyone born during those 47 years. Thus, it is more of a generational influence than an individual one.

Historically, you can see that this aspect is tied into the accelerated pace of scientific advancement during the second half of the Twentieth Century. Actually, one of the problems is that science is making discoveries faster than they can be integrated into society; even faster than proper safeguards can be devised for our protection from side effects and from the discoveries themselves.

This same ‘vibration’ is, in many ways, a part of the nature of individuals who have this aspect. There is a thirst for the new, for discovery, for experiences, that often outweighs the taking of any precautions. Others dare not try to curtail your freedom, the consequences may not be pleasant. The urge for independence can be so strong that it can create difficulties in relationships. The only relationships that truly last for someone with this aspect is one where each person is given a lot of space to be themselves, in truth, it is difficult to find someone sufficiently secure to give a partner that much freedom. It does give a real spirit, though.

The wound of the whole generation, though, can be summed up in the words, ‘fallen heroes’. For thousands of years, people had heroes to worship, people to look up to as almost godlike. But this generation has seen all of its heroes fall, or show very unheroic sides, or in one way or another, prove they are just like everyone else. As a result, your generation has had a wound that each person must learn to heal in his/her own way, but the lesson is to become one’s own hero to become the person you would like to look up to and respect.
