But the flip side is that you are extremely vulnerable to being easily hurt, your love is given without strings or expectations, and perhaps without any defenses at all. You also have a desire to understand what makes the real world tick; the laws governing material things. It is an excellent aspect for a scientist, for it seems that Venus is not passive when in this aspect. Chiron is trying to uncover as much about Venus as it can.

Chiron sextile Jupiter

A sextile is a working aspect implying the need to put effort in to reap a positive result. Jupiter is abstract concepts, and when linked with Chiron it shows that there was some type of wound connected with how you understood what was going on around you. Perhaps you were made to feel that you were too literal; or perhaps the opposite, too far removed from the actual events around you is too abstract. In any event, part of this wound is a difficulty to be truly clear when to dwell on the abstract, and when to focus on the real world.

If you have not begun the healing, there is a tendency to get caught up in philosophical ideas and not realize you are drifting out beyond what is useful in the day-to-day realm. I’ve often seen this show up in the chart of a dreamer who tries to create a world that fits their abstract concepts, without realizing just how far they have strayed from reality.

The more control your wound has over you, the more you will find you are dwelling on the negative interpretation of various subject matter. But as you heal, you find that you focus more on the positive, uplifting perspective, and can lift others up as well.

As you grow, you develop the ability to catch the ‘feel’ of the times you are in, the general flavour of the current culture. You can tune in to people, and humanity, and get remarkable insights, able to see how things fit in to the larger picture.

Chiron and Pluto do not reach opposition often, but when they do they often continue that aspect for several years, creating what some call a sub-generation. This aspect seems to express itself in one of two ways.

• In some natives it shows up as a great need to overcome some powerful inner hostility stemming from early childhood. This hostility may come from being constantly thwarted by parents, or from being a recipient of hostility from others in the environment. Whatever the cause, there are major lessons to learn about opening up, getting in touch with the inner rage, and then cleansing it once and for all from the system.

It also gives a deep awareness of suffering, something you can put out of your mind but which never completely leaves you. I once read that we laugh at most jokes because it is a way to deal with the pain and suffering; we laugh because we can identify with the sorrow the object of the joke is experiencing and the laughter is a needed release.

Chiron opposition Pluto people often make excellent storytellers, and tellers of jokes, because of this powerful awareness.

Chiron Sextile Ascendant

This point progresses very slowly throughout your lifetime. Therefore you are likely to have this aspect in your birth chart. This progression may emphasise your healing abilities. You are on a quest to learn the many aspects of healing - physical, emotional and spiritual.
