Your Sun Sign
Sun in Taurus
Patience is the virtue parents and teachers would always remind us of when we were in a hurry. Yet in our modern-day, broadband, instant world the intelligence of patience seems as if it were a relic of a bygone era. The pace of life is high-speed, everything needs to be available as quick as possible or else it has no value. As nature and her natural rhythms are replaced by technological and man-made cycles the understanding of the value of patience wanes in the culture. Astrological wisdom has not forgotten the virtue of patience for it is deeply implanted in the earthy sign of Taurus and flowers regularly in that sphere of the zodiac. Taurus is the astrological sign most closely associated with the pace of nature and inherently knows its rhythms, its seasons of growth as well as its natural developmental cycles. This is why you might strongly identify with nature’s bounty, drawn to working with plants, food or natural fibres. Your natural flair might develop into a hands-on profession like a potter, a gardener, a chef.
Closest to Mother Nature, Taurus knows there is no sense pushing when it is time to hold on or move forward when the light is red. With your Sun in Taurus you are endowed with the basic instinct of common sense, a faculty not so common in a high tech, artificial world. You innately know when it is time to dig the heels in and wait for the right moment to charge. In the meantime there is a creative waiting period and this is accomplished through patience. You have a deep respect for quality and worth and what can be accomplished through perseverance. You learn to treasure your resources over time, and know that value is added in the long term, not the short. Therefore you are a hardy investor in long term markets, real estate and any asset that will gradually appreciate over time being suspicious of incentives that have no grounding in values.
Your attachment to the long term also applies to friends and family, being fiercely loyal and trustworthy in relationship. Any time and effort spent in helping others is returned to you. You may be slow to get to know but you forge deep bonds over the course of time. Once formed these bonds are almost indelible. You have the patience to handle the most difficult child, the most demanding client or the most annoying neighbour. Unruffled they are able to remain calm and present in most situations, not backing down or giving in, but allowing the problematical situation to pass. This is an excellent skill for anyone in a busy managerial role or in crisis care. The hospitality industry often requires such skills.
Surrounded by the hectic tempo of modernity you need to create a pasture of peace in the midst of all the chaos. Your screensaver image could be a meadow of beautiful spring flowers, a waterfall, a palm tree or a peaceful natural setting. You need to bring life into an over-crowded office space with exotic plants or adorn your apartment building with pots of colourful flowers. Eventually it is this pace of being able to slow down, stop and smell the roses that supports your success. There’s no rush, as internally you ultimately know that you need to build one layer at a time. Your building plan is from the ground up, a floor at a time, season by season. It is this gathering of strength over time that becomes a powerful ally and contributes to your resourcefulness. With the Sun in Taurus your secret to wealth accumulation is your steadfast pace and innate virtue of patience. To find your vitality and spirit and to feel soulful in the world you need to strive to find the qualities of loyalty, perseverance, consistency, stability, solidity, reliability and trustworthiness on your vocational path.
Your Moon Sign
Moon in Aquarius
With your Moon in Aquarius you are instinctually altruistic and concerned for the welfare of others. Although born to be a humanitarian, you may often struggle with the difference between personal and impersonal relationships, preferring to remain disengaged than be involved emotionally. Ironically you feel safer in the future than the past and therefore are intellectually agile in understanding progress and social development. You need to be involved in the making of the future and therefore are often drawn to science, technology or alternate avenues that help shape the times to come. Therefore it may be difficult for you to feel connected or involved in emotional, sentimental or traditional ways, as your soul is in touch with tomorrow, not yesterday. You are unique and need to express your individuality in whatever you do. Vocationally independence and the lack of rigidity and hierarchy are important. This may lead you into discovering your own tribe of radicals who are able to work in a more egalitarian and self-affirming way.
When you were younger you might have stood out as being different. Your lunch box had different foods or liking different styles may have marginalised you from the group, until you were able to find your own kind. As you matured you needed to express your individuality and differences, as this is an important feature of your character. Your flair for the unusual and new age needs to be acknowledged and considered. Now you might need your uniqueness be more apparent in your vocation. While individualism is important to you, social interaction and intellectual stimulation are as well. To care for your soul you need to be moved by the spirit of being human and strive for the ideals that are inherently a part of who you are. No doubt you need a progressive, inventive and forward-looking career path, in which you creatively contribute to designing the future.
If you are called to the nurturing professions then your Moon in Aquarius would lean towards alternate or complementary healthcare. Naturally you are drawn to the unusual and may have developed unique methods to help others. Being acutely aware of social process you work well with groups and organisational reform.
Your Rising Sign
Ascendant in Virgo
Caution is a keyword for your Virgo Ascendant. Perhaps you are a cautious person from birth. Alternatively another side of your nature may dictate that you learn discrimination as you mature. Either way this Ascendant is asking that you make it your duty to put your analytical powers to good use. You are unlikely to be happy if you take no action at all. Imagine staying in the same job for an entire working life simply because you lacked the courage to step into the unknown, or the self-worth to apply elsewhere? This is unthinkable for many other members of the Zodiacal circle but not for anyone with strong Virgo. Your strength is that once you put your mind to something then you can achieve it. You've a quiet, reserved, retiring and receptive side to your nature but you can also be quietly determined. Although you're not strongly ambitious you do persevere to accomplish your goals in life. You're economical, thrifty, hygienic, and tidy in body and mind. Order and precision are your preferred modes of self-expression, and you like other people to follow your lead. You lead by example and when others follow you are satisfied. Your fate could largely depend on your circumstances, but is likely to be linked to your organisational ability. Your intellectual ability could also feature strongly in your life, perhaps through research. When it comes to money you are also cautious. This can be a positive indicator if other parts of your Birth Chart (and therefore your personality) are reckless. However, you do need to take some risks in life, even small ones. Your fulfilment is likely to come from being of service to others. You need to discover which area of service is likely to give you the most joy, not for security or monetary reasons, but for sheer pleasure. This is allowed even for the most dutiful of Virgos. If you would like to focus on a positive affirmation connected to money then with your Virgo Ascendant you could use this one from “Creating Money – Keys to Abundance”by Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer “I know what I love to do and I do it”.
Planets in Signs
Mercury in Taurus
The planet Mercury in the zodiac sign of Taurus indicates that you tend to think slowly and methodically, and carefully communicate your thoughts to others. The reason for this is usually that you prefer to take your time to consider all the practicalities. The result can be that you're slow to make a decision, but you can be assured that the decision is usually a sound one. You can experience some troubles in early education, because you're slow to grasp new concepts, but later on you benefit because you retain the knowledge of all that you have learned. You've a lot of wisdom. It's also true that you can usually be relied on to stick to your word once your mind is made up. The only drawback is that you're quite stubborn once your mind is made up. You need to make sure that you keep your mind as open as possible to new opportunities, even though you find this difficult. You place importance on traditional knowledge that has been passed down through either your family, or society. For this reason you may enjoy the study of history. When it comes to study, you learn in a slow, methodical and hands-on manner.
Venus in Aries
With Venus in the sign of Aries you'll pursue a partner ardently and hastily, preferring to be the initiator of the relationship rather than the recipient of someone else's plan of action. Initially you've great enthusiasm for your loved one, and it's important to keep the spark alight throughout the relationship. For you enjoy a challenge in your relationships, and need to be wary of losing interest after the initial excitement of the chase. You do well with a partner who allows you plenty of freedom, because you value your independence and freedom. If you become involved with someone who likes to be in control and limits your personal freedom your relationship could suffer. On the whole you find it quite easy to detach emotionally from a relationship. It's not that you're heartless or lack commitment. In fact you are quite ardent in your commitment. It's simply that when it comes to relationships you've an independent attitude. This attitude is also reflected in money matters.
Mars in Aries
The planet Mars in the sign of Aries indicates that you're an assertive person with an enthusiastic, positive and aggressive approach to life. You like to take the initiative in anything that you tackle, and rarely rely on other people for guidance or motivation. It's more likely that you're motivating and guiding others, inspiring them to follow your lead or to follow their own dreams. You're spontaneous and like to take risks, although sometimes you can be too rash which results in accidents. However, you're irrepressible and soon bounce back from any setbacks. Your self-assurance knows no bounds. You like to be free to pursue your own interests, impatient with others who stand in your way or who may have difficulty in keeping up with your aggressive pace. You're strong-willed and dislike any restrictions and limitations, preferring independence even if it means learning by your own mistakes. Therefore your loved ones and colleagues would do better to give you plenty of freedom, letting you face the challenges on your own, particularly when it comes to your love of sport and adventure. Problems can arise when you don't have an outlet for your insatiable curiosity and you can become restless and disoriented, but this is unusual. Generally you've a variety of options to consider and are spoiled for choice. You're a versatile student and an entertaining teacher, and are particularly attracted to novel ideas. You may also be a talented writer with a gift for prophecy. Astrologically speaking the planet Jupiter is considered to be in an ill-favoured position in the sign of Gemini. Therefore you should be wary of scattering your energies and failing to achieve your goals.
Saturn in Taurus
The planet Saturn in the sign of Taurus signifies that you're a slow and methodical worker, with practical skills and an ability to carry through on your promises. Although you can be a little slow for some people's liking, you're persistent. Where others may have lost interest in a job or given up in despair, you're able to keep on going until the task is finished. For this reason you're likely to benefit through your work, although you must be wary of becoming too stuck in your ways. You can be quite stubborn and this can be difficult when working on a group project. This tendency to refuse to change your ways can be an obstacle to you gaining managerial positions; nevertheless, you're likely to be in a well-paid position in your profession. Money and possessions are important to you, in particular for comfort and financial security. You're likely to achieve your financial objectives through thrift and careful investments. It's important that you're prudent and economical. Although wealth is an important objective in your life, you're quite reserved when it comes to discussing your personal finances with other people.

Planets in Houses
Sun in 9th House
The progressed Sun moves slowly through the houses. The ninth house of your chart is currently emphasized indicating that you are keen to spread your wings and explore new horizons. Travel, religion, cultural pursuits, sports and philanthropy are all themes. You may also be keen to communicate some of your own life philosophies or publish an artistic or written work. You need to expand your horizons or you will feel imprisoned by other people's expectations and society's limitations. Knowledge is the key to wisdom and understanding.
Moon in 6th house
You were born when the Moon had set. Being just below the horizon, your 6th house Moon plays a major role in your attachment to work and the way you nurture yourself. With the Moon in this sphere, it needs to be used productively through daily tasks and labours, seeking its expression in the continuity of ritual. Being the most personal of all the planets it suggests that you have your own individual needs and private routines that must be integrated into the work sphere. You need to be attentive to what you need in your work routines. Therefore it is important that you are safe and secure where you work, feel that you belong and are a member of the work team. In fact you prefer your work team to be like family and often go about making your workplace your nest. You do need the continuity between work and home and therefore personal pictures, mementos, souvenirs, kids' drawings and your favourite coffee mug probably adorn your worktable or desk. It is important to make the workplace like home and your work mates like your family. But it is this very instinct to mother your work mates that can often lead to feelings being bruised.
Therefore it is wise to be cognisant of your propensity to bring intimate needs into the workplace and then feel hurt when they are not reciprocated. Another way to focus your urge to nurture in the workplace is through occupations of service and duty. You are naturally drawn to healing, restoration and caring; therefore it is quite common for this astrological image to be reflected in health occupations, work with children or the elderly, as a midwife, a nurse or a carer. But there are many ways this image may manifest. Drawn to the past, the Moon in the 6th may excel at collecting antiquities, restoring furniture, historical research, genealogy or occupations involving food like chefs, restaurant work, catering. However this archetype presents itself, the underlying urge is to be of service.
Consider your needs at work. No doubt you need to work, but why? If you are able to tap the underlying needs and start to support them, then you will be taken care and feel secure. It is work that makes you secure, not the pay cheque or the retirement benefits. Therefore the secret to your fulfillment at work is that you find employment that you feel you belong to and where you feel needed, part of the whole. This fulfillment then provides you with the security and contentment you seek. Also be mindful of your personal rituals. You might prefer shift work, work from home, a family business or home industry; however, this might manifest it is imperative to recognise that you have to meet your own individual work needs.
You are also highly sensitised to the atmosphere of your work environment, the moods of your work mates and the ethos of the industry you work in. Therefore protect yourself from situations which are not conducive to your sensitivity. When work stress builds up you will feel it in the gut; it is telling you have had a gut full, and it is time to become more separate and take care of yourself. If you hear yourself saying you are sick of work, take heed as you may well become sick just to get some time off! Work is a necessity of your life and a major attachment whether you would like it to be or not. Therefore it is imperative you take good care of your health, diet, and daily regimen. But first make sure work is a safe and restorative experience.
Mercury in 10th house

The Mercurial archetype inclines towards professions that involve data, ideas and information technology, such as the information industry which now involves computers and the Internet. Statistical analysis, statisticians, scientists, accounting and economic analysis and librarians are also Mercurial occupations that involve research and processing of data.
Mercury was the messenger of the Gods and its astrological function is to deliver the message and to communicate. Therefore there is a host of Mercurial professions that include lecturers, teachers, writers, interpreters, journalists, radio announcers, editors, postal workers, the computer and information industry, the media and news reporting, advertising which might be of interest when contemplating career. Mercury is also the patron of travellers, their guide, and astrologically rules 'short trips' in astrology; therefore occupations involving the travel industry, drivers, couriers, tour guides and organizers, interpreters, flight attendants, cab drivers are consistent with this placement. Mythological Mercury was also the god of commerce and vocations involving trade, negotiation, contracts, verbal skills, argument and persuasion are akin to his nature. You might consider the field of commerce, commodity trading, or the stock exchange. These might also be an appropriate sector to help consume some of your abundant nervous energy.
The analytical side of Mercury also combines with the urge towards health in professions such as clinical psychologists, psychiatry and psychiatric nursing, dieticians, health care workers and medical analysis. The Virgo side of Mercury is also important in all industries that provide services to their clients. With this archetype atop your horoscope it is important that you have flexibility and continuous change in your vocation. Without adequate movement or variety in your career you may become anxious, stressed or scattered. However, with the influence of youthful Mercury you are destined for many interesting assignments and positions in your chosen career. You have the knack of being able to reinvent yourself and see things afresh.
Venus in 8th House
Relationships deepen as the planet of love moves slowly through the 8th House of your Birth Chart. This can be an enriching time when your most intimate bonds strengthen and become more sacred. Occasionally this can indicate a time in which you need to cut ties with someone who is a negative influence. You may go through a dark and wintry period, but you can be assured that this period is one of change. Just as the Earth's seasons change from Winter to Spring, so too will your intimate relationships. If this is a time of death, then it will also be a time of birth and re-emergence. The planet Venus also influences money, and so this is a time for sowing and ultimately reaping benefits from investments.
Mars in 8th House
As the planet Mars progresses into the 8th House of your birth chart you are likely to discover what it means to be self-sacrificing. Contrarily your emotions and/or sexuality can become more prominent. Your challenge is to set aside your own desires so that you can focus on projects or people other than yourself. This can initially be challenging, but ultimately it is all part of the getting of wisdom. The good news is that you are likely to have access to increasingly more and more resources in order to help you gain understanding of the cycles of life, and the higher purpose of your life.
Jupiter in 10th house
In your 10th house you have the planet Jupiter, known for its expansive, positive and confident nature. Careers involved in expanding people's understanding of themselves and the world around them, or administering to individual’s religious and soul-needs are Jupiterian and suited to your temperament. Philosophers, philosophy teachers, the realms of literature, ministers, clergymen, motivational instructors, educators and coaches are under the influence of Jupiter and any of these roles would provide a focus for this expansive energy. Jupiter also is associated with team sports, the sporting industry, adventure and is connected to horse racing, sporting goods, team sports, explorer, adventure guides. One of the consistent themes in your vocation will be the urge to expand and stretch yourself beyond the limits that were set by your family and culture. You have the urge to exceed the expectations that were set down.
Jupiterian vocations educate and inspire others to a greater understanding; therefore professors, university lecturers and tutors, teachers of higher wisdom utilise the archetype of Jupiter in their careers. Cross-cultural contacts, travel and dealing with international concerns are also part of pattern, including vocations in the foreign service, import/export trade, protocol, ambassadors, foreign trade, interpreters, missionaries, travel consultants and industry, foreign affairs, international contacts. As part of education Jupiter rules the dissemination of information and ideas: publishing, author, advertising, telecommunications industry
As the chief Olympian Zeus (Jupiter) was the most influential of the gods and this archetype seeks to influence and impact others with their ideas, generally through 'education'. Teaching, instructing, publishing, coaching, guiding and mentoring is the common denominator of all Jupiterian professions. Your urge will be to educate and disseminate information that will enhance understanding and improve the quality of life. It is imperative that you bring your vision and your ethics to whatever career you choose. You are an eternal student and traveller and it is important that you bring your visionary and optimistic spirit into any role you play in the world.
Saturn in 10th house
Saturn is in your 10th house. The archetype of Saturn tends towards perfection and represents the need to excel. Often this is a defensive position which stems from innate feelings of not being ‘good enough’. Therefore with Saturn in your 10th house, you are motivated to try even harder. Professions which encourage a need for excellence and precision can direct some of this energy; however you need to be aware of your perfectionist tendency and how it inhibits your freedom to be creative and accepting. You are ambitious to do your best. In the early stages of life the drive for success may be denied. When the need for perfection becomes compulsive you might get caught in your workaholic temperament, which is often triggered through feeling inadequate or not measuring up. Another manifestation may also be that you rebel against success, as this is your grand mutiny against the oppressive forces of tradition and expectation that you experienced. Or you might be caught in the paradox of wanting to be successful but fearing it as well. You will recognise the tension that exists between the fear of failure and the fear of success.
With Saturn in the 10th house you were aware from a young age of the expectations that were placed upon you and the role that was being forged for you in the world. This feels stifling and oppressive at times. However, to rebel against this tradition and responsibility would be an act against your self, because when your defensiveness is stripped away, you have innate ambition and an authentic urge to succeed. Moreover you also have the self-sufficiency and incentive to do well. Therefore the labour of Saturn in the 10th house is to shape your own autonomy and become your own authority. While your profession path will include working for others, you probably feel more satisfied being self-employed. Respecting your boss is difficult when you fid that you may be more dedicated and competent than them.
Occupations allowing a sense of authority therefore are important for you. Your need for responsibility and autonomy is high. Positions such as executives, surgeons, technicians, scientists, corporate managers, school principals, teachers, law makers, politicians, and councillors could fulfill this need. However self employment and direction would also suit your need for autonomy in the world.
Saturn is also associated with many ‘trades’ especially the building trades but also may be connected to agriculture and real estate. Contractors, bricklayers, builders, gardeners and landscape design, architecture and building design, construction industry, labourers, real estate dealers, land developers, engineers are under the jurisdiction of Saturn. The need for hierarchy is important to Saturn, as is the need to respect their superiors. With your need for autonomy and authority, a common pattern might be conflicting with management when trying to attain a position of influence and control. Your bosses and superiors are your challenges which help you find your own inner authority and confidence.
Uranus in 1st House
The planet Uranus is in the 1st House of your birth chart suggesting that you're one of a kind - a real individual, who stands out in a crowd. And this is the way that you like it. The tried and true paths through life don't interest you. An original thinker, perhaps even a genius in your field, you're eager to embrace new ideas and projects. You're excited by innovative and challenging ideas and projects. It's definitely a case of "out with the old and in with the new". Rules are meant to be broken and traditions are meant to be defied as far as you're concerned. You like to take risks, and can be a bit of a dare-devil. In fact if anyone tries to curb your freedom, you're willing to fight for your rights to be independent. It's possible that others will turn to you for leadership, wanting you to fight for their rights as well. For this reason you could be at the forefront of humanitarian or political causes. It's also possible that metaphysical, scientific and occult discoveries fascinate your intelligent and intuitive mind. Your appearance is likely to reflect your original personality, resulting in some original and innovated fashion statements. Although you may appear odd at times to other people, your original approach to life is likely to overcome their concerns.
Neptune in 9th House
The planet Neptune placed in the 9th House of your chart means that you've a devotional attitude to higher learning, and may be on a search for the perfect philosophy. As a young person you may have embraced an orthodox religion or philosophy, only to be disillusioned when it fell short of your expectations. As an adult you seek a philosophy or religion which more closely reflects your high ideals. This search may lead you to a foreign country, or to higher education. While you're vulnerable to disappointment in these areas, you also possess the ability to continue to seek inspiration. You need to be wary of your lack of discrimination, which could lead you into strange and unusual cults. On the other hand you may choose to inspire others, sharing with them the results of your own spiritual quest.
Pluto in 10th house
In your 10th house you have the planet Pluto, whose realm is the underworld, the mythological sphere where treasures and riches were buried. Pluto’s name means riches and wherever Pluto is in the horoscope you will be empowered to find the buried treasure. However, this place is also the ‘door to Dis’; Dis, being the Roman name for the underworld god. Therefore this is where you may locate the subterranean feelings which have been unexpressed in your family, suggesting that your vocational path may be littered with the shades, ghosts and secrets of your familial past. Yet it also suggests that you are uncovering valuables and riches not experienced before in your family.
Pluto is associated with loss, unexpressed grief, traumatic and shameful feelings, secrets as well as a host of unacceptable feelings such as anger, rage, resentment, jealousy, envy etc. In a vocational sense, Pluto often deals with vocations which dig deep down, either into the literal ground, or into the psychic ground of an individual to locate the truth and encourage the release of the repressed. Hence psychotherapy, oncology and bereavement counselling are all vocational descriptions which are worth considering. Pluto rules research and investigative vocations such as depth psychology, doctors, loss and grief practitioners, bereavement counsellors, work in the mines, subways or underground, plumbing, medical researchers, investigative reporting, police and governmental undercover agencies, detectives, archaeologists. All these vocations would be consistent with this image in your horoscope.
Pluto is also the realm of the dead and in a vocational sense you might be involved with this literal realm or careers where the cycle of destruction and renewal is prevalent. Burials, undertaking professions, coroners, mortuary work, wills and legal vocations concerning inheritances, the dead and the rights of the dead, insurance agents, demolition and renovation work would be consistent with this image. The power of Pluto to influence the masses and transform public opinion is reflected in careers like marketing researchers, media and vocations of influence, politics, police work, big business and government.
One of the main dilemmas with this placement is that your solitude and need to be alone is placed in the path of your career. This might suggest you have ambivalence about being public or known; however, it also reinforces the need to find your privacy and solitude in your working life. With Pluto on your Midheaven your destiny will involve you with people in powerful positions, influential businesses and transforming occupations. It is important for you to recognise that you make an impact on your world even if you are unaware of it.
;PLANETS ON MC/IC
NorthNode in 3rd House
The North Node in the 3rd house brings the issues of how we coordinate and collate information to make sense of it rationally, so that we can communicate it effectively to others in our environment. This task is important since you need to know that the world around you is not haphazard and that you are not pursuing pointless connections or unnecessary detours. This suggests you need to be cognizant of the immediate environment and its boundaries exploring its environs before you feel confident enough. Curiosity and interest are prompts you can use to help expand your territory and push the boundaries, but it is important not to be sidetracked by impossible schemes, vague philosophies or charismatic ideals. Finding your place in any system is important. Originally this may have been with your siblings or friends; however vocationally it is important to be aware of your place in the corporation and with co-workers and colleagues. The culture of the work place is an important consideration for you and therefore you might take some time before you settle into a routine. Your early work experience is broad and you might have to exhaust some wanderlust before you can establish yourself professionally.
Naturally you have a worldly intelligence. You instinctually understand cultural and philosophical complexities and are more comfortable than most with the bigger picture. You might feel like a citizen of the world, not bound to your place of origin. Vocationally you may be challenged to express and disseminate this understanding, whether that is through written or oral communication, the creative arts or another class of dissemination or broadcasting. One of your developmental tasks expressed through your vocation will be to challenge yourself to be articulate about what you know. Like a journalist you may find yourself expressing the complexities of human nature to others who do not have your level of understanding and far sightedness. Your nodal invitation is to express your vast understanding in a succinct and everyday language. You are drawn to the mystical and metaphysical sphere but your destiny is to translate the imaginative into the practical.
Chiron in 10th house
While Chiron is not categorised as a planet, its archetypal influence is important to consider. Being in your 10th house, Chiron symbolises the professional encounter with healing and commemorates your exclusive role in the world. While you might feel marginal in your career aspirations, foreign to what others strive for, even an outsider in your system, you have a distinctive role to play. Chiron’s cave on Mount Pelion was the place where young, homeless and orphaned boys were initiated into the ways of the hero. With Chiron they were reminded of their birthright and were schooled in the arts of heroism and healing. In classical myth Chiron is the ancient link to the archetype of the healer/hero and reminds us of traditions that linked the mystical with the mundane or the spirit with the body. It was also reminiscent of the heroic urge to heal the self. In contemporary times Chiron symbolises this quest for wholeness, individuation and the attempts to repair the split between the body and the soul. Hence in vocational pursuits Chiron tends towards the healing professions that address the need to reconcile the body/mind split. Having this archetype strongly placed in your vocational sector, you may feel drawn to the healing arts, especially complementary and alternative medicine and healing.
With Chiron in the 10th house there is a myriad of possible paths to find your way into healing. Holistic healing professions including naturopathy, homeopathy, herbalism, chiropractors, Chinese medicine and all alternate healing practices which attempt to work with body and mind, dream therapists, channels, Reiki and other new age healing modalities, astrologers and others working with imagery and symbols as a healing tool are all resonant with this placement in your horoscope. Chiron was also a mentor and teacher and therefore you may also be drawn to mentoring professions such as life coaches, mentors, inspirational teachers, meditation instruction or health education.
As a foster figure Chiron is also associated with the marginalized and therefore professions which work with refugees, the homeless, the handicapped and vocations which aid the underprivileged and the outcast are ways you might feel called. The 10th house is your pathway into the world and when you are in public life you feel drawn to the wounded. You are likely to be the person who donates a coin to a passing beggar, or you might feel compelled to work for a charity or organisation that helps the less fortunate. Whether this is through social work, a caring or medical profession, trauma counselling or even private practice, you find your capacity to heal is drawn up from your own wounds. With Chiron in the 10th your innate capacity to heal and your intrinsic understanding of trauma is forged through your own experience. Ironically it is your own wounds and complexities that call you to be a healer and educator. For many of the same reasons you are also likely to be in synch with the objectives of workers' unions, or international protection groups. In other words your need to be a champion of the underdog is reflected in your choice of career, whether this is a worker, mentor or teacher looking after your flock or literally working with the underprivileged.
Nodes
NorthNode in Scorpio
You were born with the North Node in Scorpio and the South Node in Taurus intimating that you have a well-developed sense of values and are able to be resourceful at whatever you turn your hand to. However to feel successful, an intense connection to what you are doing is necessary. You need to be passionately involved in what you do or else you become disinterested and prone to feeling stuck and bored. Your innate patience and perseverance help you to be able to see things through to the end and this faculty is important in your vocation, as you may be drawn to work that has an edge or depends on critical judgement and intense focus. Your destiny may be linked to the healing professions, as there is a possibility that you are adept at the range of therapeutic professions, having an innate affinity with the relationship between the body and psyche. However you may find other ways to be in an engaging profession whether that be crisis management, repair and renovations or any career where rebuilding and transforming the old is important. An intimate understanding of the cycle of life and death heightens your ability to work with crisis, near death experiences as well as frightful and difficult rescue situations or investigations. Forensics, criminal investigation, medical research, trauma counselling, palliative care are areas you could reach for to satisfy your quest for intensity. On the other hand you may have the ability to concentrate for intense periods of time, handling detailed work that others find too challenging. Bookkeeping, accountancy, research, stock market trends, and computer programming are just a few of the areas that may attract your intent gaze.
Trusting in your own knowledge that you will do the right thing by yourself and others is important. Your dragon fight is with the urge to become possessive and control your resources. However this is based on a philosophy of loss and a fear of finality. While you are so guarded you are unable to develop what you really need to and that is to share on a deep and intimate levels. Your inherent sense of worth will be uncovered through a spirit of generosity and sharing. The spiritual law of getting back what you give certainly applies to you in both emotional and mundane matters. You have the Midas touch, therefore your knack of making the right investment and spotting the best bargain is not a stroke of luck but innately your character. Therefore it is to your benefit to use all your resources to invest in what makes you feel passionate and alive. You may also choose to work on behalf of others to help them make the most of their resources.
Since you are naturally careful and well grounded, you need to trust that you will make the right decisions. You have a tendency to hesitate and wait, letting opportunities may pass by. You can never go wrong if you pursue what you are passionate about. Knowing you already have ample resources will be helpful in moving forward. Therefore you will know when you have found your vocational path as your sense of worth and value will be evident.
Aspects
Sun Hard Moon
When the Sun and the Moon are combining unfavourably in your chart, it means that you're likely to have difficulty succeeding in life. You may have trouble in money matters, struggle with employment, and suffer at the hands of other people. You should be particularly wary of troublesome women, who could create obstacles to you achieving your goals. In some cases, this combination can also mean that you suffer from ill health, which further hinders your chances of success.
Moon Soft Mars
The Moon is making an aspect to Mars in your chart indicating that your home life is active and boisterous, rather than a peaceful environment. Fortunately you're an impulsive and emotional person, who prefers action to becoming bored by inactivity. You're likely to feel more comfortable when faced with a challenge. For this reason you may enjoy working around the house or working from home. It's possible that your need for an active home life stems from your childhood home environment, which was busy and boisterous. Perhaps your mother, or a strong woman in your household, was vivacious and dynamic, possibly even fiery. In some cases male members of the family can display these traits. Either way at a young age you learnt how to enjoy a spirited home life, which you've carried into your adult life. You need to be wary of a lack of sensitivity to other people's feelings. Not everyone is as feisty as you. You could also try to avoid becoming embroiled in arguments with women. This could be difficult as you're impetuous, liable to act without thinking. Mostly you enjoy the challenge of new activity, but at times your vigorous nature can land you in hot water.
Moon Hard Jupiter
The Moon is making a difficult aspect to the planet Jupiter in your birth chart indicating that you struggle with your tendency to be self-indulgent and attached to the comforts of life. You've difficulty finding a sense of equilibrium in your home life. Either your home seems so comfortable that it's difficult to rouse yourself to attend social occasions, or you're never home. This isn't necessarily a problem for you, but can cause difficulties for members of your family. Perhaps these problems stem from your childhood. As a child your mother may have been over-indulgent, showering you with affection and attention and inadvertently making life a little too comfortable. As a result you may either have had difficulty finding the motivation to leave the nest, or have fled for greener pastures far too soon. It's also possible that you've unrealistic expectations of yourself and your family members, which can occasionally cause friction. On a positive note you're warm and benevolent and enjoy spending time with your family. It's also possible that you share common religious or spiritual beliefs, and that your home is a hospitable meeting place.
Moon Square Neptune
During this period you are more sensitive to other people and your surroundings. For this reason you may feel confused. Your former goals may have lost some of their meaning. Try not to be too concerned. You simply need to slow down, rest and reflect on some important aspects of your life. As part of this process you may feel the urge to take part in creative, spiritual or artistic pursuits. These can be a valuable means of exploring your feelings. Your dream life may also be more active, as you tune in to your intuitive nature. Dreams may be more vivid, carrying messages for your waking life. Your perceptions and goals are changing in subtle ways. You need to avoid making decisions that require logic. Preferably you should learn to listen to your intuition. If in doubt then take your time before making life-changing decisions. This is a time to gently explore the more subtle realms of life, rather than forge ahead with definitive goals. You are rather like the butterfly that is emerging from the cocoon. Try not to force the process, but rather take your time and enjoy the new emerging you. As a result you will discover new depths and meanings that colour your life in significant ways.
Moon Hard Neptune
The Moon is making a difficult aspect to the planet Neptune in your birth chart indicating that you've a sensitive nature, and are prone to spending long periods of time in solitude in the safety of your home. Sometimes you thoroughly enjoy your own company, but at other times you can feel somewhat despondent and confused, tired and caught in a web of inexplicable emotions. The problem may be that you're unrealistic in your expectations of yourself and your loved ones, idealising them only to be disillusioned when they fail to live up to your expectations. A more realistic approach can be helpful. You're often confused about your direction in life, wondering if you'll ever fulfil your dreams. Your home needs to be your haven from the world because you feel overwhelmed by the harsh realities of the world, and you need to shut away. If this isn't possible then it's likely that you'll be distressed. Depending on other influences in your chart it's possible that you spend long periods living in a fantasy world. Family members may have stories about your daydreaming ways as a child, which continue well into adulthood. It's also possible that your loved ones feel the need to bring you back down to earth, believing that this will help you cope with the world. Nevertheless you have learned to trust your own instincts, telling you of a need to escape somewhere to dream, even if it's only one room. In this case a room with a beautiful view would definitely appeal to your aesthetic nature. It's likely that your relationship with your mother, grandmother, or an important woman, has played a key role in your life, positively or negatively. On the negative side it's possible that this mother figure demanded that you ignore your sensitive nature, turning your back on your artistic and spiritual gifts. On the other hand perhaps she cosseted you as a child and adolescent, fanning your unrealistic view of the world. Another scenario could have been that your mother was unwell, or regularly adopted a victim-like approach to life, which forced you into the role of caretaker at a young age. Whatever the scenario in your childhood, the outcome is likely to be your own struggle to face your responsibilities while still finding time for your spiritual, artistic, or contemplative needs. It's possible that this same woman, or another woman, could have encouraged you to develop the imaginative side of your nature. Perhaps this woman had artistic or spiritual gifts, or encouraged your own talents. Whatever the scenario, it's likely that you've an idealised or distorted picture in your mind of this woman, which affects your adult relationships with your loved ones. Your lesson is to learn to balance your needs for artistry, spiritual pursuits or moments of quiet contemplation with the practical, and very-real, demands of the mundane. This is when you are most likely to appreciate the soothing nature of your home. Your house may also be a restful haven for your loved ones, because you've a flair for creating a peaceful environment. You've the ability to listen with sensitivity to other people's problems and plans, or to create a beautiful environment with artistic ornaments, soothing music and indoor plants and flowers. Perhaps you also have artistic talents, which can be displayed in your home. You may find a great sense of satisfaction in living close to water, or surrounded by nature.
Mercury Conjunct Midheaven
As messenger of the gods, Mercury's astrological function is to deliver the communiqué. As Mercury is at the highest peak of chart this is even more apparent in your vocation. You are a born communicator, helpmate and guide and from an early age you have been curious enough to explore a range of paths and career opportunities. You are not limited to one as you bring your multidimensional interests to any role you play in the world. Whatever career you choose, mobile Mercury challenges you to express your ideas through one of his many channels of communication and information.
Mercury Soft Uranus
The planets Mercury and Uranus are connected in your birth chart indicating that you've an incisive and ingenious mind. You enjoy progressive topics in your studies and your communications with other people. In fact you may be ahead of your time in your thoughts, ideas and opinions. You're generally successful in your studies because you're able to communicate your original ideas with ease. Creativity and intuition are second nature. You're an independent thinker, who likes to be given the freedom to express your ideas. In fact woe betide anyone who tries to keep you quiet or change your mind. You make impulsive decisions, some would say rash, but generally speaking you tend to land on your feet. Your projects tend to reflect your individual flair, and stand out from the rest of the class or society. Writing, publishing, advertising, science, astrology and electrical affairs may all be of interest, although any unusual subject will catch your attention.
Mercury Conjunction Neptune
You may find it difficult to concentrate right now. Your mind is muddled. It is time to slow down, particularly if you are a mentally focused person. If you are able to, you need to avoid any task that requires mental agility and concentration. Instead allow your mind to wander to more creative pastures. This can be the perfect time to consider an artistic, philanthropic or spiritual interest. A holiday or a spiritual retreat may be beneficial.
Venus Hard Jupiter
The planets Venus and Jupiter are combining unfavourably in your chart suggesting that you are somewhat fickle in relationships. It's not that you don't love your partner, but rather that the grass appears greener in other fields. Of course your ability to form a long-lasting relationship depends on other influences in your chart, but this combination suggests that you can be somewhat self-centred. When the going gets tough you lose interest and wander off for greener pastures. The good news is that you're likely to benefit through your partner, despite this inconsistent side of your nature. You're optimistic and talented, full of joie de vivre and optimistic plans for the future, which are likely to be successful. You're also likely to be surrounded by supportive friends, and many potential life partners. You're seeking a relationship with someone who will expand your horizons. You love to share adventures, philosophies and goals.
Venus Soft Pluto
The combination of the planets Venus and Pluto in your chart indicate that you enjoy commitment and challenge in your personal relationships. Unlike many other people, you're not afraid to make the necessary changes demanded within close relationships. In fact you prefer change, especially if the alternative is a staid and steady relationship. You like to be consumed with love and passion, and are happiest when with a partner who feels the same way. You can be disappointed when others fail to soar to great emotional heights and plummet the emotional depths by your side. You want intensity, perhaps even a little drama, in your primary relationship. You're fiercely loyal and committed, and expect as much from your partner. Problems can arise when you don't feel a strong bond with your partner, or if that bond is threatened, particularly by another person. You're a jealous person, and quite capable of seeking revenge when wronged. You need to be careful to choose the right person as your primary partner - someone who reciprocates your love and passion. Otherwise you can waste a lot of time and energy trying to make a doomed relationship work. You may also benefit from directing some of your energy into an all-consuming project, such as fighting for human rights or an intensely creative pursuit.
Venus Hard Neptune
The planets Venus and Neptune are combining in a manner which indicates disappointment in your primary relationship. The problem is that you're idealistic and unrealistic when it comes to personal relationships, lacking the discriminatory powers needed to form a steady and lasting partnership. This applies to both your personal and business partnerships. Consequently you often feel disillusioned and sorry for yourself, blaming others for failing to live up to your expectations. It's possible that your partner is indeed deceiving you in some manner, but it's also possible that you're not being honest. Either way it's likely that you're seeing your primary relationship through rose-coloured glasses, and as a result conflict arises because of your lack of discernment. You're caught in a web of fantasies and romantic illusions, either of your own or your partner's making. Coming to terms with the reality of your relationship helps you obtain a better understanding of your primary relationship, and prevents you from becoming disillusioned. Taking off the rose-coloured glasses means that you can make a proper assessment of your primary relationship. As a result you'll experience fewer feelings of resentment and disappointment, and won't be in danger of overlooking some major flaws such as drug addiction or deceit. With the right partner you'll enjoy a sense of peace and fulfilment. You may also enjoy artistic or spiritual pursuits together. You're ardent and loving, responding quickly to your partner's need. In turn you benefit from acts of kindness, love and appreciation.
Venus SemiSquare Neptune
It is time for reflection rather than action. Artistic events, spiritual retreats and sojourns in nature are ideal for contemplative stage of your life. You are likely to have romantic notions right now. Let your imagination run wild. Indulge in a little daydreaming and avoid making life-changing decisions. Contracts, both business and personal, are best let alone because you are not in a practical mode - quite the opposite. Cast off as many responsibilities as is reasonable in your current circumstances and take pleasure in this creative and romantic phase. If you try to force practical matters now then you are likely to be disappointed. The more that you can relax and enjoy this phase the more you will feel rested and rejuvenated for the next phase.
Jupiter Soft Pluto
The planets Jupiter and Pluto are making contact in your chart indicating that you've the enthusiasm to live life to the fullest and are likely to succeed in reaching your objectives. You are inclined to think big when tackling projects, preferring the satisfaction that follows the accomplishment of large projects. Whatever project you tackle, you do it in a big way. It's likely that you've many goals in life because you're progressive and ambitious, eager to make the most of opportunities that come your way. What you lack in attention to detail you gain in enthusiasm and energy. You're a natural-born leader or teacher, inspiring others with your grand schemes. You may teach a classroom of adults or children, or on a one-to-one basis or you may simply inspire others by example. You need only to be careful to keep your ego under control, and to make sure that you're not too grandiose. You're likely to succeed in achieving many of your hopes and wishes.
Jupiter Hard Moon
The planet Jupiter is making a difficult aspect to the Moon in your chart suggesting that you tend to be self-indulgent lacking the motivation to achieve your goals, or perhaps you've unrealistic expectations of yourself and your loved ones. You may lack faith in yourself and the fortitude needed to accomplish tasks on your own. It's possible that you put other people, particularly women, on a pedestal. You need to acquire self-discipline in order to complete tasks, which in turn boosts your confidence. Once this is achieved then you're likely to succeed in your objectives.
Saturn Conjunct Midheaven
Saturn's tendency towards perfection and excellence is highlighted in your horoscope, as this planet was near its culmination at the time of your birth. Professions encouraging the need for quality, responsibility, autonomy and precision can channel some of this energy. However it is imperative to consider your own standards of excellence and not be driven to over achievement as a compensation for not feeling good enough. Focus your critical faculties onto work, not the self; discriminate your personal ambitions from the goals others might set for you. Destiny has given you the role of the elder and called on you to be an authority and a model for others to emulate.
Uranus trine Neptune
With Uranus Trine Neptune, you experience a gentle intuitive link between Zadkiel and Tamiel. Zadkiel is the Angel of Death, and Tamiel of Dreams. Together they extend your understanding of the nature of life and its limits. They also reveal the many ways you can change your life through skillful action.
You have a natural love of ritual. You find, when you think about it, that ritual pervades everything you do. You get along with other people very well because you observe the steps of ritual, entering into each conversation, activity, or association according to socially or culturally defined rules, and in so doing you put other people at ease without undo fuss or bother.
You can develop subconscious talents through conscious expression. In concert with your Angels, you express little pieces of your subconscious awareness in conversation or action. As you do this, you affirm your less conscious abilities and honor them and your Angels. Then your mind is better able to provide ideas and feelings to aid your work.
Inspired idealism may not be what you think you have been looking for, but you are certain to find it eventually. Your Angels send you dreams and ideas all the time, and you have only to pay attention to them. Your idealism provides a foundation for you to help others who experience major disasters or transformations in their lives. When you or others experience loss, your Angels are ready and willing to lift you up.
A potential weakness is the lack of stamina. Physical exercise to build lung capacity and muscle strength is well worth the effort. The physical strength you gain provides a foundation for emotional and spiritual strength.
For mental strength, meditation or yoga provide an organized practice. Kundalini yoga provides a medium for mental focus as well as physical exercise, building all the structures you need to support your developing psychic awareness.
Another possible weakness of structure could lead to high blood pressure and its associated ailments. The above mentioned exercise, meditation, and yoga all serve to reduce blood pressure and strengthen the system so as to avoid dangers of stroke and heart ailments.
Heightened psychic states including clairvoyance are the norm for this combination.
Uranus Soft Neptune
The planets Uranus and Neptune are combining in your chart suggesting that your creative urges are strong. You enjoy exploring new territory, either through studying or travelling and your talents may lie in writing, healing, social welfare, healing or spiritual fields. You may be keen to explore metaphysical matters, perhaps even belonging to a secret society or a group dedicated to global healing, charity or spirituality. Your psychic abilities and intuition are likely to be heightened, and this may help you explore your creativity.
Neptune Conjunct Midheaven
Neptune, the planet of creativity and spirituality, is atop your horoscope suggesting that these ideals are an important feature of your vocation. From an early age you may have been aware that your calling was to become spiritually active in the world. While you may not know what this actually looks like, you feel deeply moved by the urge to be of service. In vocational pursuits you long to find a way to express the divine. Generally this will be either through being a helper or an artist. Your path in life is never clear cut; therefore you need the courage of your convictions and faith in your beliefs to sustain yourself in the world. Confusion, uncertainty and not knowing where you are going are common feelings when you reflect on your career. Your vocation is a work in progress but in the meantime it is important to bring the creative and spiritual aspects of your nature into the open.
Neptune Opposition NorthNode
With Neptune opposite the North Node, you experience the close cooperation between Tamiel and the entire heavenly host. You become aware that anything is possible when this aspect is active in your life, perhaps because so many Angelic energies contribute to your lively imagination.
A weakness is the lack of flexibility in dealings with other people, possibly due to your confusion about what they want or how you fit into their plans. Another possible problem concerns dreams that disturb your peaceful sleep.
If you have difficulty establishing good contacts with other people, call upon Tamiel and the heavenly hosts for comfort and support. They can stimulate imaginative ways of getting your ideas across to others.
On the up side, you can develop your psychic sensitivity so that you know what is coming in the next moment or the near future. This way you feel better prepared and can appear more adaptable, even if you still feel a bit foggy about the details.
With a host of Angels behind you to bolster your courage, you find that engaging with others in social activities becomes easier.
Pluto Conjunct Midheaven
Pluto, the planetary archetype that governs what lies beneath the surface, was near its culmination at your time of birth. Vocations which dig deep down into literal, financial, emotional or psychic terrain like miners, archaeologists, detectives, investigative journalists, surgeons, psychotherapists, tax experts, forensic specialists, pathologists, funeral directors etc. are under the jurisdiction of Pluto. The power of Pluto to influence the masses and transform public opinion is also reflected in careers like market research, media and vocations of influence, politics, police work, big business and government. Being intensely private and contained, Pluto is uncomfortable being in the public spotlight. While you are emotionally and psychologically involved with your career, you need to protect your own privacy. Fate asks you to channel your intensity, perceptiveness and depth of understanding into the transformation of other people's lives without exposing your own personal biography.
Chiron Conjunct Midheaven
Chiron's culmination on the MC of your horoscope suggests that you will be a maverick on your life path. The Fates have woven the theme of wounding and healing into your vocational path. This might manifest as being drawn to marginal careers as a mentor or healer. You are called to be heroic in your search for a fulfilling vocation and recognise that while you may be marginal and foreign in the system, you can be a significant contributor and find fulfillment and freedom. You may feel called to work with the underprivileged, the handicapped, the outcast or the orphaned. This is also the metaphor for your calling to assist others in their healing process.
Chiron conjunct Mercury
Mercury represents the logical mind and the ability to communicate. But when close to Chiron it adds another level to its nature as it gives you a great concern for others,.their needs are often a major part of your thought processes. (It would take a drastically negative chart to really suppress this concern.) Because of your concern, you grow to understand quite well how the average person thinks, and are able to reach such people with your words and ideas.
You have the ability to think on many different levels, and thus reach many different types of people.
Because of this ability, you are not restricted to simple verbal communication or written words. Chiron takes Mercury out beyond its normal realm, enabling you to communicate on many non-verbal levels. Perhaps it is because your mind goes places Mercury ordinarily doesn’t go, but you are a truly original thinker, coming up with ideas that seem far-fetched, yet work wonderfully.
But this ability is also tied to the root of a problem. While you were young, your were perhaps criticized for how you communicated; perhaps you were criticized for not speaking clearly, or perhaps people paid attention to your words only and misunderstood what you were trying to say with more than words (emotions, feelings, facial expressions). Or alternatively, you may have picked up the subtext from others, hearing more than they thought they were trying to communicate. In any event there is a deep wounding that impacted how you communicate, so that you were never sure just how much or how little to say, nor were you sure you were being understood. So one of the major lessons you have had to learn in life is how to communicate, and also how to listen.
You seldom overlook some piece of the puzzle because it is too small, or apparently insignificant. It is often such a piece that changes everything. Because your mind is not limited by convention, you can be quite controversial, but often others discover it is well worth paying attention to what you say or write. (In truth, it is difficult to ignore you, even if one does not agree with you, or even like what you are saying.)
You are the person to consult when someone feels blocked and needs to find some way out of their dilemma, you can find the loophole, or think of a way to open the door for others.
Chiron conjunct Pluto
If you have Chiron conjunct Pluto you are part of a small, select group of people, born either in 1941, or during 1999–2000. These two bodies have a connection; Joyce Mason called them ‘The Comet Brothers’ because they share many qualities of a comet nucleus, waiting to transform into a full-fledged comet.
Pluto’s urge to bring about total transformation is focused through Chiron, giving you a highly specific area where you feel transformation must occur. The natal House where this conjunction falls is where you will concentrate this powerful urge for transmutation.
This aspect is a powerful push on you to evolve, to become more, and to grow. But human nature being what it is, you must not let yourself be drawn to the darker side of your nature and have the urge to take control of everything (and everyone) around you; try and determine how change ‘for the better’can be manifested.
As you follow the path to grow, and transform yourself, you develop the focus of a symbolic laser, enabling you to cut away that which has lost its value; then taking what is left, rearranging it and making it work in a brand new way, unlike anything that has gone before. Following the highest path, you can turn this focus on the world around you to make it a better place, once you rise above any personal need to control at all costs.
This aspect also enables you to tune in and focus on hidden or obscure data and bring them to the surface. Pluto always intensifies and in this case, it intensifies your need to follow your own path, and the need to seek out what needs to be changed in the pursuit of wholeness. You are very much aware of the general pains afflicting humanity, as well as the deep need of mankind to find solutions to our basic problems, to find release from humanities pain in some way.
Chiron conjunct Saturn
This aspect is a rare one. It has occurred exact only once this century (1966) , and the people born with this aspect have a unique perspective unmatched by people born any other time.
Saturn is structure, framework, and walls. It is the shell protecting a lobster, and the skeleton supporting you and me. Without Saturn, there would be no order, no structure, and we would not have any perception of apparent reality. Psychologically, it is also the rules we obey, and the conscience we must deal with; that inner voice that says ‘no’, ‘you should …’, ‘you shouldn’t … ’, ‘you can’t …’ It is any crutch one must use, until one outgrows it. Sometimes, it is absolutely necessary, it is the parent yelling “Stop!” before the little child runs onto the street, as well as the parent repeating over and over, “Look both ways before you cross the street” until the child no longer needs to be reminded. But as it says in the Bible, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.” Sometimes, Saturn goes too far, is too strict, too rigid, or does not let the person grow even though they are ready to move beyond their walls into new realms.
As you can imagine, Saturn in a chart shows the influence of authorities when a person was growing up. With the conjunction to Chiron, there is a very powerful and deep wound resulting with a clash with one or both such authority figures as a child. Whatever this wound is will initially be a source of great restriction and insecurity, perhaps even self-hatred. In most cases, one parent (usually the father), is the cause of the wound, and there can be a great deal of deep resentment towards that parent.
With most Chiron positions, a person has an outlet for their pains, although often the person needs to go through a lot of growth and healing before they can get enough in touch with the wound to share their pain, and release the hurt. But Saturn, the ‘wall’, essentially locks people up in their pain. You are forced to confront and deal with it inside, and work at it on your own. For some, this is because they were not allowed to express their hurt; some were not even allowed to experience their pain, so heavy-handed was the authority. In one way or another, physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually, you were abused by those who made the rules, or perhaps, even abandoned them altogether.
Within your own private walls, you had to deal with the hurts, and you had to try to master the issues. By mastering them, you begin to transform your Saturn. Until you begin healing the wound, you may find it a struggle to find your own place in the world. Society and culture at large can be viewed with distrust and suspicion. If you do not heal, you may find yourself overcome with cynicism, or even bitterness and reject social contact altogether.
As stated, when you begin to deal with your pain, you transform Saturn, and in doing so universalize it. You no longer see traditional rules as valid, but look to a more universal set of laws. Saturn ceases to be limitations—only handholds and steps on your journey. Once you have come to terms with this conjunction, it promises a remarkable ability to delve into the most hidden aspects of life’s most basic forms, or society’s most deeply ingrained institutions, or the structures that permeate all levels of a culture. You become an individual who learns to make your own reality. It also indicates that you will never let yourself be a prisoner to any structure, nor a prisoner of the past.
And then you find that you not only can share your pain, you can also help others to open up and share theirs.
I think of singer Edie Brickell. She made her musical debut with a song that asked, “What I am is what I am …. Are you what you are … or what?”
And then followed it with a song that attacked people who keep stuff in that bothers them by responding to “What’s the matter?” with the word “Nothing!”
“There’s nothing I hate more than nothing. “Nothing keeps me up all night. “I toss and turn over nothing. “Nothing could cause a great BIG fight.
“Hey! What’s the matter? “Don’t Tell Me Nothing!”
And she totally threw out most of the ‘shoulds’ and ‘should nots’ that society tried to impose on us. When it was time for her to fall in love, she had no problem marrying a man 25 years older than her (Paul Simon). She was writing her own rules obeying laws of a much higher authority.
Chiron Square Ascendant
This point progresses very slowly throughout your lifetime. Therefore you are likely to have this aspect in your birth chart. This progression may emphasise your healing abilities. You are on a quest to learn the many aspects of healing - physical, emotional and spiritual. The quotation from the Bible's New Testament Luke iv. 23. - "Physician heal thyself" - may hold special meaning. You may also need to learn when to give others the freedom to heal themselves and when to offer a helping hand.
