Most likely, the wound stemmed from your relationship with your father, or other male role model. Perhaps you never could understand what your parent expected of you, what they expected you to be or how they wanted you to behave, and so no matter what you did, you never received their approval to help you feel good about yourself. Or perhaps you were made to feel that you had to stay in the background, that your parent was much more important than you.
