LIFE GOALS

The Sun

Just as the Sun is the centre of the earth's Solar System, so does the Sun play a vital role in your life on earth. Your life goals are linked to your Sun - its Zodiac Sign and its position in your chart. Contrary to popular belief, the Sun isn't the only planet to be considered in a person's chart, but it is an important component. The Sun gives you an indication of how you can shine in your life. You will feel truly alive when you're living the traits indicated by your Sun. Therefore it's likely that you will spend much of your life on a journey to self discovery, aiming to incorporate these traits into your life. Understanding the energy of your Sun is a good starting point to understanding yourself and your purpose in life.

The Sun is in the 8th House

Your Sun is in the 8th House of your birth chart meaning that the processes of birth and death play a prominent role in your life. Of course this is true for many people, but whereas other people may welcome a birth or grieve a death and then get on with their life, the birth and death of loved ones affects you so deeply that you're likely to change the course of your life as a result. You're an intense person, who likes to bypass the superficial side of life and delve deeply into the meaning of life. Many people feel uncomfortable discussing intimate topics such as birth, death and sexuality, but you're not so reluctant. In fact it's important that you delve into these topics rather than push them to one side. The most significant death in your life is likely to be that of your father, who is an important figure in your life. You are also likely to welcome the birth of children as a life-enhancing experience. Your experiences you’re your father deeply affect your style of parenting. Whether you have a positive or negative relationship you’re your father, your role as a parent is an important avenue for you to express the very depths of your nature. Trust is a key feature of your life. While you may have difficulty trusting some people, it's important that you've someone close to you who knows you intimately, someone with whom you feel comfortable talking about your innermost thoughts and feelings. You need to trust and follow your own intuition. If you do this then you're likely to benefit through your primary partnership, gaining in personal fortune either through your partnership or after the partnership has ended. You're also likely to live a long and fruitful life, although you may go through critical life and death periods.

The Sun is in Gemini

Your Sun is in the Zodiac Sign of Gemini indicating that you're curious, lively, versatile and talkative, with a need for constant stimulation. You're adept at keeping your finger on the pulse of several things at once, like a juggler. Many times you weave your way successfully and skillfully through your many activities leaving others in somewhat breathless awe of your abilities. However, there are also many times when everything comes tumbling down around you and you're left to pick up the pieces which have been scattered throughout your life. Others are then disturbed to note your lack of organization. Life is temporarily in disarray. It is at times like these when the clever Gemini person asks for help. Communication one of your strengths in life, taking the form of lively conversation, letter writing, study, numerous telephone calls or even travelling to various destinations to satisfy your curiosity. You've a tendency to liven up even the quietest environment, sometimes even introducing a chaotic element. Life is never dull around you. Your greatest enemy is boredom, and you will be resourceful in your pursuit of activity, although if all else fails you may turn to the radio, television and computer games. You've a keen intellect which can be applied to creative pursuits such as acting, writing, publishing, networking, and teaching. Your biggest hurdles to achieving your goals in life are making up your mind and focusing your energy, as you've such a difficult time deciding between all of the different options and then concentrating on the task at hand. You may also be a natural born comedian. You certainly know how to play. UK author J M Barrie’s characters “Peter Pan” and “Tinkerbell” come to mind in association with the Gemini person’s delightful charm and wit.

As a result your life tends to read like an adventure story, possibly including travels around the globe. You're not necessarily attracted to rugged adventure, preferring to travel in style. You're likely to shine in your studies, eventually making an inspirational teacher if you choose this path. You may be surprised by the number of people who have been impressed by your attitude, to the extent that they have felt inspired to change their own lives. You're likely to achieve your goals whatever path is followed, and perhaps to help others achieve theirs.

The Sun is Square Pluto

On a positive note you're a powerful and ambitious person, who enjoys rising to a challenge. You enjoy tackling difficult tasks, particularly the projects which other people have put in the too-hard basket. You're likely to succeed where others have failed, but the path will be strewn with obstacles. It could be circumstances which stand in your way. Perhaps your childhood was difficult, failing to provide you with the support needed for a successful adult life. It's possible that a dominant father figure blocked your success, perhaps even abusing himself or you in the process. As a result you're likely to experience strong emotions, possibly anger, when you reflect on your experiences. You can be explosive and unpredictable and have trouble controlling your emotions, feeling that the world is opposing your deepest wishes. Your challenge is to be powerful in the most positive sense of the word. This way you achieve your life goals without causing too much damage on the way!

You're a kind-hearted person who likes to help anyone who is suffering, perhaps even working in a charitable organisation. You're more likely to work behind the scenes rather than taking on a public role, refusing to accept public accolades. Nevertheless your good works don't go unnoticed and you're likely to benefit in other ways. It's possible that you work in an institution such as a hospital or museum, where you can work quietly and unobserved. If you do have an active public life, then you benefit greatly from extended periods of time spent in seclusion. You've a great respect for ancient wisdom, the spiritual teachings of past civilisations. Secret societies may also play a beneficial role in your life. Although you may suffer setbacks during your life, these are followed by successful periods.

However, other people would be wrong if they mistook your mild manner for meekness. You know the benefits of tackling tricky situations with diplomacy rather than aggression. Your skills in this area are formidable, and you can go a long way towards achieving your goals of justice and peaceful relationships. You're conscientious and compassionate. Social occasions are also a feature of your life, providing you with much pleasure. You enjoy being surrounded by your friends in pleasant surroundings. The Moon

Astrologers from different schools of thought allocate varying meanings to the Moon in a birth chart. Ancient astrologers say that the Moon changes its nature according to its phases, and merely passes on impressions from other planets rather than directly influencing a person's life. However, modern astrologers tell us that the Moon depicts a person's roots, our home and family. They say the Moon also shows our habitual nature or subconscious patterns of behaviour which stand in the way of achieving our life goals. While the Moon can show us our strengths, it can also depict our weaknesses which need to be overcome in order to be successful in life.

The Moon is in the 1st House

The Moon is placed in the 1st House of your birth chart suggesting that changing fortunes are likely to occur during your lifetime as you seek the stimulation of different homes, professions and environments. You're adaptable and generally enjoy the changes that do occur, as long as you feel that you're moving forward in your life. You're quite ambitious and enjoy being in the limelight, particularly when you feel comfortable in a public situation. Generally you're popular and well-liked because other people respond to your open manner. You're a sensitive person who is affected by the emotions other people, responding with warmth and genuine affection. If your Moon is in the signs of Aries, Capricorn, Libra, Cancer, Sagittarius, Virgo, Pisces or Gemini then you may be more timid and less inclined for public life. You're likely to be a flexible person who enjoys change. However, if your Moon is in the signs of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo or Aquarius then you're less likely to be flexible and may have more difficulty with the changing circumstances in your life. You enjoy public appearances, particularly in connection with your job. In ancient times the Moon was considered to be in a strong position when placed in the 1st House of a chart, meaning that you're in a strong position to achieve your ambitions.

The Moon is in Scorpio

With the Moon in the sign of Scorpio you've an emotional intensity that often those close to you simply can't comprehend. You feel things so strongly and seem to notice nuances that pass others by. However, so often others accuse you of being overly sensitive that you have learned to keep your feelings secret. This is a bit dramatic, but then you can enjoy a bit of drama in life. It can help you to feel alive. You don't like to be bored by the daily routine of life. Your insights into the human psyche are very perceptive, and you're capable of handling very emotional situations well. You wish that others also wanted to experience this intensity. Crises, which would scare many other brave-hearted souls, provide you with grist for life's mill for they give you the opportunity to share intimate moments with loved ones. Drama may have entered your life at quite a young age, even as early as your birth. You probably entered the world under a cloak of strong adult emotions involving death, or experienced a dramatic birth in which your life hung in the balance. It's likely that your mother was at the centre of this trauma, and that as a result you've intense feelings either for or against your mother. These emotions may spill over into your relationships with women friends in your life. They have certainly given you the ability to understand others at a very deep level. From an astrological point of view the Moon is in its fall in the sign of Scorpio highlighting the difficulties that you may experience in being understood by others.

The Moon is Conjunct Neptune

The Moon and the planet Neptune are connected in your birth chart indicating that you're a soft, imaginative and sensitive person, who needs a peaceful home environment. Your home needs to be your haven from the world because at times you feel overwhelmed by the harsh realities of the world, and you need to shut away. If this isn't possible then it's likely that you'll be distressed and confused. It's true that you live in a fantasy world. Family members may have stories about your daydreaming ways as a child, which continue well into adulthood. It's also possible that your loved ones feel the need to bring you back down to earth, believing that this will help you cope with the world. Nevertheless you've learned to trust your own instincts, telling you of a need to escape somewhere to dream, even if it's only one room. In this case a room with a beautiful view would definitely appeal to your aesthetic nature. Your imagination is important in helping you to develop your artistic or spiritual gifts. It's likely that your relationship with your mother, grandmother, or an important woman has played a key role in helping you develop the imaginative side of your nature. Perhaps this woman had artistic or spiritual gifts, or encouraged your own talents. It's likely that, although you've an idealised picture in your mind of this woman, that she has had a positive effect on your life. Perhaps you also have artistic talents, which can be displayed in your home. You may find a great sense of satisfaction in living close to water.

The Moon is Opposite Saturn

Much of your adult life has been spent trying to overcome the difficulties that you faced as a child in your home and family. Astrologically speaking this is because the planet Saturn is contacting the Moon in your birth chart. Ancient astrologers believed that the planet Saturn had a malefic influence in a person's chart. In your case your early home life has been adversely affected. The extent of this effect depends largely on other influences in your chart. In some cases it can mean that your childhood home lacked spontaneity and warmth, but was well-organised and structured in a manner which helped you to feel supported and safe. However, it's more likely that circumstances in your family led to you feeling that home was a cold and unsupportive environment. This could have been one painful incident such as the loss of a family member, or it could have been the result of years of hardship. It's possible that one of your parents, perhaps your mother, was a strict and severe influence, unable to show you the affection that you felt you deserved. As a result it's likely that you're somewhat shy as an adult, lacking in self-confidence and sensitive to criticism. You may be emotionally reserved. Perhaps you have chosen at some stage in your life to live in solitude rather than risk the lack of affection and warmth that you felt as a child. As you grow older and work on your self-esteem you can build a lasting maturity. You develop an inner self-confidence which helps you build firm foundations in your life and achieve your ambitions, as well as loving family relationships. You work solidly to build yourself a secure and firm footing, earning the respect of those around you. You can succeed in business and in your career, particularly through being noticed by your superiors. You may also benefit through investments in land and property.

The Moon is Semisquare Uranus

The Moon and the planet Uranus are connected in your chart suggesting that your home life is unusual and changeable. It could be that you've difficulty settling down in one place, or that you live in extraordinary surroundings. In some way your family life is unusual. This isn't necessarily a negative experience, although it could be upsetting. Perhaps you, or a member of your family, have an unusual hobby which has taken over the household, or necessity requires that your family often changes residence. The erratic nature of your household probably stems from your childhood experiences. Perhaps your family was different from traditional families, or circumstances led to emotional upsets in the family home. It's possible that you suffered from a sense of insecurity as a child as a result of changing family life. Your mother, or an important mother figure, may have been an unusual or unstable influence in your early childhood. A continuing sense of a lack of security in your home and family may be a source of emotional distress, as you struggle to come to terms with conflicting emotions. However, you're a resourceful, inventive and independent person, and will eventually learn to blend your individual need for excitement and stimulation in the home environment with a need for comfort and security.
