Birth Chart Report for Santiago Gamboa
Your Sun Sign
Sun in Scorpio
The eighth sign of the zodiac is the most enigmatic of all and has a reputation for being mysterious and powerful. In the northern hemisphere, Scorpio heralded the ending of the year and the sign became associated with fermentation and decay, as death stalked the countryside and announced the time for withdrawal. Astrologically this realm locates the deepest layers of the human psyche, the forge where integrity is fired and shaped through self-analysis. With the Sun in Scorpio you learn to trust your instincts and emotionally differentiate between truth and falseness from an early age. Your emotions can be intense, your feelings deep and powerful, suggesting that in your life you need to experience passion, honesty and intimacy in all walks of life. Vocationally you need to be respected for the power of your feelings and the truth of your convictions.
In Scorpio we encounter the hidden and unexpressed aspects of the self as well as the negative impulses that we must learn to control and direct. Therefore with your Sun in Scorpio you are challenged to summon the psychological strength to contain your compulsions and create space for unwanted feelings. You have the emotional capacity to contain these impulses and the integrity to act honestly and authentically. Therefore you may feel drawn to working with others in difficult situations, dealing with crisis or helping in transition. Your innate capacity to summon inner strength in the face of emotional adversity and loss means you are unafraid to acknowledge the reality of your feelings, mourn for what has past or grieve for what cannot be. Your emotional integrity is therapeutic and transformational, helping others to heal and move forwards through the dark. You have a powerful gift of being able to confront the most difficult truths and feel unashamed of your humanness. Therefore you might feel called to use this in your vocation either as a therapist, healer, counsellor or any other profession where you can combine the complex amalgam of love and honesty in your life work.
Integrity is your virtue, that ability to be painfully honest with those you love, to disclose your own vulnerability and face the truth about what has happened. You have the emotional courage to face the disappointments and anger of others. You also have the capacity to trust in yourself and know that when others let you down, you can forgive them, or more importantly forgive yourself. It is this integrity that allows you to know the depth of intimacy and the power of love. Knowing how to be trustworthy, you are able to contain the fears and vulnerabilities of others. Your integrity inspires others to be honest and open. Through this open exchange trust can be built. At the end your integrity is the key to self-mastery and a clear conscience. To find your vitality and spirit and to feel soulful in the world, you need to strive for honesty, trust and truth using your intuitive and resourceful faculties.
Your Moon Sign
Moon in Gemini
With your Moon in Gemini, you need to be stimulated and mobile. Your need for variety, change and as little routine as possible is important in order for you to feel motivated and switched on. Quite naturally you often are involved in many tasks at the same time and have an uncanny ability to be able to apply yourself to each one without losing your momentum. Being quick and agile you make connections very easily, thinking best when you are on the move or in between two places. Just as you are crossing the road, answering the mobile or falling asleep is when you have your best ideas. Therefore it is important for your vocation to have flexibility and fluidity in managing your time and output as well as the freedom to communicate. You naturally prefer a range of tasks; at heart you are a born communicator and messenger with an abundance of ideas.
From an early age you were mobile and talkative off to explore the sights of sounds of the surrounding neighbourhood. Curious and inquisitive you wanted to report what you saw. Instinctively you are a reporter and at some time might have given thought to becoming a journalist, writer, lecturer, secretary, postal worker, teacher, or translator. While your path might have meandered in another direction, your soul needs to communicate and connect. So if you are bored or restless at work this may be a sign that you are not following your true calling and that you need to re-consider your career options. You love to learn in your own way and figure things out. Soul can express itself through your hands making you a natural at drawing, graphics, playing the guitar or piano, or using them to heal. While it is not easy to express your feelings you need to find the venue for their expression in the everyday through words and images.
If you are drawn to the nurturing professions then your Moon in Gemini would lean towards both learning and care, such as in speech therapy, teaching, NLP, teaching, improving memory.
Your Rising Sign
Ascendant in Sagittarius
The effervescent nature of Sagittarius is prominent when placed on the Ascendant in your Birth Chart. Your enthusiasm for life and the adventures that it offers is contagious. As such you are a natural teacher, traveller, philosopher and educator. Your purpose is not so much linked with money but rather with the riches that can be gained from education and knowledge. Life has meaning when you are “getting wisdom”. You're open-minded, honest, idealistic, jovial, impulsive and a sometimes deep thinker. You view life as a continual adventure with many exciting lessons, experiencing good fortune on your travels. Your irrepressible enthusiasm is irresistible, and others are keen to join your adventures. You're ardent, affectionate, and kind-hearted. Your biggest challenge when it comes to money is showing restraint. You are likely to attract money and good fortune throughout life but you need to learn to use your own, and other people’s resources wisely. Grandiose money making schemes and expensive holidays can quickly dry up funds. If you can restrain your impulses and harness your positive traits then you're likely to be fortunate in life and an inspiration to others. If you would like to focus on a positive affirmation connected to money then with your Sagittarian Ascendant you could use this one from “Creating Money – Keys to Abundance”by Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer “Everything I do brings me aliveness and growth”.
Planets in Signs
Mercury in Sagittarius
The planet Mercury in the zodiac sign of Sagittarius indicates that you're a born philosopher, enjoying any information which helps you see the big picture. You don't like getting caught up in the details of everyday life, preferring a more grandiose picture. You can often be found at the hub of any project which requires a vision for the future, as long as you can leave the details to someone else. You enjoy religion, as long as it incorporates all religious viewpoints and people from all walks of life. For you can't tolerate intolerance. You enjoy talking to people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds, and of all ages, as this gives you the feeling that the world is your oyster. You also enjoy studying, whether it be in the halls of academia or the halls of life. You're a seeker of knowledge. At some stage in your life, you may also enjoy teaching others. Astrologically speaking, the planet Mercury is considered to be in detriment in the sign of Sagittarius. This means that you must be wary of becoming too grandiose and idealistic in your thinking. While the big picture is important, it's also important to slow down and attend to the details in life.
Venus in Capricorn
With Venus in the sign of Capricorn you're shy in relationships, slow to form friendships with other people but, once you've committed to another person, then you're steadfast in your efforts to maintain the relationship. This is particularly true of your primary relationship. Not one to be distracted by romantic illusions, you may appear to be reticent, almost cold, in the first throes of love. This is partly because you're timid, but it's also because you like to weigh up the pros and the cons to any new relationship. You're a great believer in the adage "actions speak louder than words" and you like to observe other people's actions. You form relationships slowly, but they are enduring. Your head isn't ruled by your heart, although you like to think that you've a good balance. This is fortunate because you're ambitious in relationships, seeking a partner who is of good character and good standing in the community. For these reasons you may have more difficulty in your relationships earlier in life, seemingly missing out on the flurry of social contacts being experienced by your more flighty friends. It's later in life that your relationships flourish and you're placed in positions of trust and responsibility through your liaisons with other people, particularly people in authority. It's also later in life that you stand to profit through your relationships, either financially or through promotions in your social standing.
Mars in Sagittarius
The planet Mars in the sign of Sagittarius indicates that you have a strong desire for exploration and adventure, anything which adds to excitement in life and teaches you more about yourself and the world. The halls of learning also hold a great attraction helping you expand your ideas and knowledge. You are enthusiastic and passionate in your approach to life and can be an inspiration to other people. You could just as easily find yourself in the role of teacher or student. You're not afraid to speak your mind, and in fact you have firm ideas on many subjects. This can be quite a challenge to other people, until they realise that you're very accepting of other people's ideas and also enjoy the challenge of a good argument. You have an energetic approach to life that can also be channelled into sports, particularly those which involve risk-taking and adventure. You may also be interested in religion, law or military pursuits.
Jupiter in Cancer
You've the planet Jupiter in the zodiac sign of Cancer in your birth chart indicating that you are an idealistic person, who has a strong humanitarian side to your nature. You want to take everyone under your wing, whether they be family members in trouble or victims of world disasters. You may feel the urge to travel overseas to take care of other people, possibly even becoming involved in a humanitarian or religious welfare group. It is also possible that you have a large family. If not your friends will become your family, and you've many friends. This depends on other influences in your birth chart. You're kind-hearted and popular and so attract friends from both the lower and higher echelons of society. Although you mean well, you do need to be wary of becoming too meddlesome in other people's affairs. You're likely to benefit from your connections with your loved ones, possibly through unexpected inheritances and legacies. Astrologically the planet Jupiter is considered to be in a favourable position in the sign of Cancer and therefore it is likely that you will achieve your goals.
Saturn in Pisces
The planet Saturn in the sign of Pisces signifies that you're a compassionate and intuitive worker, although you can be anxious and fearful. At times you're indecisive and fickle in your actions because you're prone to allow external influences to sway your judgement. As a result you often experience delays and frustrations. You also seem to be frustrated in your attempts to achieve practical ambitions. You're ingenious and inspiring, but lack the ability or the circumstances to achieve your material ambitions. This concerns you more because of other people's expectations rather than because of your own values. Truth be known you would rather pursue a spiritual path or develop your artistic talents than work your way up the corporate ladder. Money and material goods are really only a means to an end, as far as you are concerned. You're more likely to seek security through understanding the psychic and metaphysical side of life. You would also prefer to have the opportunity to withdraw from the responsibilities of daily life rather than face the rigours of other people's expectations. Left to your own devices, or with a wealthy benefactor, you're happiest when meditating or reflecting on the afterworld or starving in the name of art.
Uranus in Virgo
The planet Uranus was in the sign of Virgo from 1962 - 1968. It's important to note that Uranus spends a long time in each sign, and therefore the interpretation applies to a generation rather than the individual. For a more individual interpretation you need to look at the house position of Uranus in your chart. Uranus in the sign of Virgo indicates that you belong to a generation which focuses on the practical details of humanity. Medical research, the balance between work and leisure, the links between mind and body come into focus. Your creativity soars when you're tackling these issues.
Neptune in Scorpio
The planet Neptune was in the sign of Scorpio from 1955 - 1970. It's important to note that Neptune takes about 164 years to make a complete cycle, spending about thirteen years in each sign, and therefore the interpretation applies to a generation rather than the individual. For a more individual interpretation you need to look at the house position of Neptune in your chart. Neptune in the sign of Scorpio indicates that you belong to a generation which has the ability to passionately pursue spiritual values. You face a battle between your material desires and the desire for a spiritual way of life. You know the value of regeneration rather than stagnation, and may play a role in changing the world.
Pluto in Virgo
The planet Pluto was in the sign of Virgo from 1957 - 1972. It's important to note that Pluto takes about 248 years to make a complete cycle, spending 12 - 32 years in each sign, and therefore the interpretation applies to a generation rather than the individual. Medical research, world-wide diseases, medical discoveries, and the links between mind and body are focuses for this generation.
Chiron in Pisces
You are a sensitive soul whose experiences may have a profound affect upon your sense of self. Your confidence and identity may suffer because your reality; that which you once believed was the truth, might later be revealed as something quite different. For example, you may have grown up in a cult or alternative community, or you may have a parent who has experienced drug problems or mental illness. Whatever your circumstances, you may feel a deep sense of loss, confusion, or disillusionment at some point.
You are probably more evolved and aware than you give yourself credit for. Because of your wounds, you may feel a bit lost and unsure of yourself, but over time you will become more aware that you possess rare and worthwhile gifts. Try not to feel obligated to continue with situations or connections that have a negative influence on your wellbeing, just for the sake of belonging.
The challenge you face is to get in touch with yourself and your own spiritual core. By doing this you will establish your own beliefs and more than likely discover that within you lies a highly creative and imaginative artist. At times you can feel you have lost your way and that you are simply going through the motions. If you feel depressed by the circumstances of your life, seek help and guidance. You are a highly intuitive and caring soul and helping others can be spiritually uplifting. Do not be tempted to escape your pain by medicating yourself with drugs or alcohol. Share your experiences by assisting people in similar circumstances.
The key to healing is to be found in your own spiritual journey. Possible options to explore include: Reiki, spiritual and energy healing, meditation or hypnotherapy. Most importantly, develop a meaningful life philosophy and embrace music, art and colour. Your capacity to give selflessly is second to none, but you need to give to yourself too. Once you embrace your spiritual centre, you will find wisdom.

Planets in Houses
Sun in 12th House
The progressed Sun moves slowly through the houses. The twelfth house of your chart is currently emphasized indicating that you are working behind the scenes on something significant. This could mean that you are going through a more introspective phase, contemplating the universe. On the other hand it could indicate that you are spending many hours concentrating on a particular long-term project. Perhaps you have a sense that you are preparing for greater things? If so, look to see when your Sun progresses into your first house. This is when your life is likely to turnaround.
Moon in 6th house
You were born when the Moon had set. Being just below the horizon, your 6th house Moon plays a major role in your attachment to work and the way you nurture yourself. With the Moon in this sphere, it needs to be used productively through daily tasks and labours, seeking its expression in the continuity of ritual. Being the most personal of all the planets it suggests that you have your own individual needs and private routines that must be integrated into the work sphere. You need to be attentive to what you need in your work routines. Therefore it is important that you are safe and secure where you work, feel that you belong and are a member of the work team. In fact you prefer your work team to be like family and often go about making your workplace your nest. You do need the continuity between work and home and therefore personal pictures, mementos, souvenirs, kids' drawings and your favourite coffee mug probably adorn your worktable or desk. It is important to make the workplace like home and your work mates like your family. But it is this very instinct to mother your work mates that can often lead to feelings being bruised.
Therefore it is wise to be cognisant of your propensity to bring intimate needs into the workplace and then feel hurt when they are not reciprocated. Another way to focus your urge to nurture in the workplace is through occupations of service and duty. You are naturally drawn to healing, restoration and caring; therefore it is quite common for this astrological image to be reflected in health occupations, work with children or the elderly, as a midwife, a nurse or a carer. But there are many ways this image may manifest. Drawn to the past, the Moon in the 6th may excel at collecting antiquities, restoring furniture, historical research, genealogy or occupations involving food like chefs, restaurant work, catering. However this archetype presents itself, the underlying urge is to be of service.
Consider your needs at work. No doubt you need to work, but why? If you are able to tap the underlying needs and start to support them, then you will be taken care and feel secure. It is work that makes you secure, not the pay cheque or the retirement benefits. Therefore the secret to your fulfillment at work is that you find employment that you feel you belong to and where you feel needed, part of the whole. This fulfillment then provides you with the security and contentment you seek. Also be mindful of your personal rituals. You might prefer shift work, work from home, a family business or home industry; however, this might manifest it is imperative to recognise that you have to meet your own individual work needs.
You are also highly sensitised to the atmosphere of your work environment, the moods of your work mates and the ethos of the industry you work in. Therefore protect yourself from situations which are not conducive to your sensitivity. When work stress builds up you will feel it in the gut; it is telling you have had a gut full, and it is time to become more separate and take care of yourself. If you hear yourself saying you are sick of work, take heed as you may well become sick just to get some time off! Work is a necessity of your life and a major attachment whether you would like it to be or not. Therefore it is imperative you take good care of your health, diet, and daily regimen. But first make sure work is a safe and restorative experience.
Mercury in 1st House
Sharpen your intellectual sword because you are going to need it. Communications, contracts, merchandise and anything connected with your mind and wit are coming to the forefront. You may have been contemplating many areas of your life in the past but now you are gaining understanding. As a result spoken and written projects may begin. You may also embark on short journeys that keep you busy, demand your skills and encourage you out of your habitual modus operandi. There is no rush but you may find yourself juggling quite a few balls during this new phase of your life. If you have a bright wit and intellect then you are likely to sparkle. Quick wit and repartee, accompanied with substance, will take you far. You may also decide to study or learn a new skill which in turns propels you onto a different path.
Venus in 2nd house
Venus, the planet of beauty and symmetry, is in your astrological sector of resources revealing your love of art and refinement. This suggests you have a highly developed sense of taste, value the sensual pleasures of life and appreciate form and design. Venus is also the natural ruler of the 2nd House so she feels at home here, valuing the pleasures that the material world can provide. Therefore money is important for the luxury and cultivated lifestyle that it can provide. Since you have an instinctual knack for dealing with money you may be drawn to earning your income in the banking, financial or economic sectors. While this might not be the case for you, what is important is that you reflect on your attitude towards earning and spending. Personal worth and value are bound up with money and it is important to be aware of the link between your inner feelings of worth and value and material acquisitions. Therefore it is important to reflect on your familial conditioning about money and power, as well as the early attitudes that you might have internalised about your own sense of worth and value. It is important to consider how feminine values were appreciated and respected.
A peaceful and attractive environment contributes to yourself-esteem, as ultimately the aesthetics of the outer world reflect an inner feeling of harmony and being in the right place. Therefore you might enjoy investing a large part of your income in what pleases you like clothes, furnishings, art, music etc. When beauty and taste surround you, you feel well. If you are not aware of this aspect of your nature monitor your sense of well being when you are in a chaotic and messy environment as compared to a tasteful and refined one. Inherently you have a knack for pleasing and attracting others. Venus encourages you to be partnered and archetypically with this placement money, sex and relationship may be intertwined. Therefore it is imperative to be honest about these issues before they become enmeshed in a difficult web.
Consistent with this astrological placement is often a talent for art, music or social skills. Many like Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley and k.d. lang have been blest with a rich and attractive voice. While this may not be your destiny it would be worthwhile considering what skills and resources you value about yourself and how you might want to earn your living developing these. Or at least expressing this talent through a hobby. With Venus in this sphere you may be drawn to earning your income in many ways. Most consistent with this archetype would be jobs connected to art, beauty and the urge to beautify. Or you might be inclined towards pursuing a profession where the development of social skills and hospitality is a priority. This placement suggests that working with others, socialising and relating are skills that are developed through making a living. People skills are resources that need to be developed in order to feel satisfied through what you do. This suggests you might be drawn to professions where diplomacy and protocol are important or work in partnership with others. This urge could be satisfied through a variety of ways which help others improve their own sense of worth, attractiveness and well being, ranging from counselling and beauty therapy through to massage and aromatherapy. Whatever path you choose it is important to remember that the goddess of love and beauty wants to be honoured and acknowledged in your vocation.
Mars in 1st House
As the planet Mars progresses through the 1st House of your chart you are inclined to become more assertive than you have been previously. If you are already a headstrong individual then this could see you even more focussed on your own goals and objectives. If you have been lacking self-conviction then now you should gradually grow in confidence. Slowly and surely you can gain a sense of purpose, hopefully working in co-operation rather than competition with others. During this period you can face and overcome obstacles.
Jupiter in 7th House
This is a rare and significant moment in your life in connection with relationships. Someone who you meet during this period is likely to change the course of your life. All close relationships are likely to be rewarding right now, but most importantly marriage is highlighted. If you are already married then you are likely to experience deep and life-changing feelings about your spouse. Your love and commitment is likely to deepen and bring profound happiness. If you are single then you are destined to meet your life partner. Happiness and love abound and marriage is inevitable. There is also the possibility that the positive influence of the planet Jupiter shines its light in the area of business partnerships and contracts. These, too, bring abundance to your life.
Saturn in 4th House
The planet Saturn progresses slowly through the Zodiac and so it is significant when it moves from one area of your chart to another. The good news is that you have spent many years learning how to express yourself with clarity and authority. Now you gradually form foundations that last a lifetime. Family and home are likely to become a haven for you. Security can be sort in family networks, bricks and mortar or a sense of belonging to a community. You need to gradually put in place the building blocks that help you feel safe in your own life. Working from home, or retirement may become options during the years that follow. There is no rush when the planet Saturn is involved. This is a gradual process that can take years.
Uranus in 10th house
In your 10th house you have the planet Uranus, whose discovery near the advent of the industrial age reminds us that this archetype presides over burgeoning industrial revolutions. Being innovative it rules the technological revolution, new and cutting-edge technology, the electronics industry and ground-breaking aspects of the electronics and engineering fields.
Computer programmers and technicians, Internet based occupations, radio and television and the broadcast media are akin to the nature of Uranus. As an altruistic planet, it rules humanitarianism and social reforms including the areas of politics, compassionate concerns and occupations, promotion of causes, professional and humanitarian associations, social services. The innovation of this archetype leads to vocations which encourages inventiveness, science and technology.
Occupations which deal with the human condition and the advancement of the individual such as psychology, especially approaches like group psychology, Adlerian, Gestalt, and psychodrama will appeal to the archetype of Uranus. Astrology, community work and reforms, many of the new age occupations, like reiki healing, crystals, channelling, complementary therapies and medicine all appeal to the non-conforming aspect of Uranus. It is the extraordinary and non-traditional vocations that call you. Therefore it is not too far out to consider being a rock musician, a metaphysician or even a science fiction writer. To be true to yourself you need to find the road less travelled through the world. Expect the unexpected. But if you were to imagine one thing, anticipate that your career will take you farther afield than anyone else in your family and/or tribe has been before. When you were born your vocation probably did not exist, or if it did it was probably not one your parents would have considered for you. To find your fulfilling career you need to recognise the avant-garde, futuristic and unique aspects of yourself and how you might shape these into a role for you in the world.
Neptune in 12th House
The planet Neptune placed in the 12th House of your chart means that you often feel overwhelmed by the realities of the modern-day world, and yearn for seclusion. These feelings hamper your creative projects, and spiritual process in life. You may spend much of your time day-dreaming or fantasising about possibilities, rather than acting. If you immerse yourself in these fantasies then you're likely to be escaping from reality, which doesn't help you live your true potential. However, you're likely to benefit from moments of seclusion which enable you to reflect before taking action. You're a compassionate person, with a talent for caring for other people. You may enjoy investigating your psychic abilities, or working behind the scenes.
Pluto in 10th house
In your 10th house you have the planet Pluto, whose realm is the underworld, the mythological sphere where treasures and riches were buried. Pluto’s name means riches and wherever Pluto is in the horoscope you will be empowered to find the buried treasure. However, this place is also the ‘door to Dis’; Dis, being the Roman name for the underworld god. Therefore this is where you may locate the subterranean feelings which have been unexpressed in your family, suggesting that your vocational path may be littered with the shades, ghosts and secrets of your familial past. Yet it also suggests that you are uncovering valuables and riches not experienced before in your family.
Pluto is associated with loss, unexpressed grief, traumatic and shameful feelings, secrets as well as a host of unacceptable feelings such as anger, rage, resentment, jealousy, envy etc. In a vocational sense, Pluto often deals with vocations which dig deep down, either into the literal ground, or into the psychic ground of an individual to locate the truth and encourage the release of the repressed. Hence psychotherapy, oncology and bereavement counselling are all vocational descriptions which are worth considering. Pluto rules research and investigative vocations such as depth psychology, doctors, loss and grief practitioners, bereavement counsellors, work in the mines, subways or underground, plumbing, medical researchers, investigative reporting, police and governmental undercover agencies, detectives, archaeologists. All these vocations would be consistent with this image in your horoscope.
Pluto is also the realm of the dead and in a vocational sense you might be involved with this literal realm or careers where the cycle of destruction and renewal is prevalent. Burials, undertaking professions, coroners, mortuary work, wills and legal vocations concerning inheritances, the dead and the rights of the dead, insurance agents, demolition and renovation work would be consistent with this image. The power of Pluto to influence the masses and transform public opinion is reflected in careers like marketing researchers, media and vocations of influence, politics, police work, big business and government.
One of the main dilemmas with this placement is that your solitude and need to be alone is placed in the path of your career. This might suggest you have ambivalence about being public or known; however, it also reinforces the need to find your privacy and solitude in your working life. With Pluto on your Midheaven your destiny will involve you with people in powerful positions, influential businesses and transforming occupations. It is important for you to recognise that you make an impact on your world even if you are unaware of it.
;PLANETS ON MC/IC
NorthNode in 6th House
Your North Node is in the 6th house; the South Node is the 12th. This 6th-12th polarity echoes the zodiacal opposition of Virgo and Pisces where the core issue of order versus chaos is brought into consciousness. Your North Node in the 6th house suggests that the process of ordering, sorting, discriminating and focusing become important themes in your everyday experience. Since work is an aspect of the everyday, you will encounter these ideas in your occupation. Therefore one of the first considerations of any vocation would be that it supports your need for coherence, direction and productivity. An open-ended job description or an undefined work schedule with no budget or goal is not suited to you. You need to know what you are doing; being in the moment is important, mindful of what you are working on and the techniques and structures that support it. Without this you might feel pulled back into the rip of confusion or lost in a hazy fog which keeps you from applying yourself to a useful outcome. At this juncture, stress accumulates.
Work-wise you are suited to tasks that demand your attention, details that involve you in the moment and routines that can be managed. Innately you have an understanding of health and well-being and may even feel pulled to this professionally. You also have a knack for bringing order out of chaos and therefore may be drawn to jobs that need overhauling, improving, even perfecting. Deep inside you know you have a fertile imagination and depth of understanding, yet you are invited to use this to solve the complexity of disorder and the riddle of mismanagement. Therefore vocationally development of your managerial and business skills will always be useful. You have the gift of inner sight and depth of feeling. Now you are invited to use that in a pragmatic and constructive fashion through your work in the world.
Chiron in 4th House
Chiron is a maverick in the planetary pantheon. Since its discovery in 1977, it has defied categorisation. Similarly with Chiron in your 4th House you might have first experienced this feeling of being a maverick in your family of origin. Your family may have been marginal to the mainstream culture that your grew up in. Themes of abandonment, estrangement or displacement may have permeated your family atmosphere. These may have been lingering feelings left over from an emigration, displacement or family schism that left your family on the outside. But the question that is important is what extent did these feelings of marginality contribute to your feeling unsafe and not belonging. No doubt this placement suggests that you are an individualist and a nonconformist but are you comfortable with this role? To be secure you need to accept that you are different from the rest of the herd. These differences provide the secure base upon which you will build your life.
If the family is the outsider in the society, then you may feel that safety can only be sustained in your family, leaving you at risk of venturing into the wider world. Your family myth may imply that the pain of living is great, wounding your will and the spirit that promotes adventure and exploration outside the family and culture. Has a family wound left you with a handicap? If so then it is important to reflect on how this essential aspect of your character may be used to your advantage. If not, then consider your responses to those who are disadvantaged or on the edge since you will cross paths. This also might literally suggest that one parent was wounded in some way; generally this is a loss of spirit due to feelings of excommunication that took place in their family. You are sensitive to this theme. Another way this might have manifested is that a trauma, injury or affliction may have affected a family member. And due to this, the family attention was directed towards pain rather than comfort. This contributed to making the wound the centrepiece in the family. However this may have also been the inspiration for you to find your spiritual self. Deeply embedded in your inner self is a healing and compassionate side born not from inspiration, but often desperation. Freud wrote about the phenomena of Family Romance, the child’s feeling of being alien to their family of origin and therefore romanticising their parents and siblings. While you might not have romanticised your origins you might have felt alien and adopted when growing up. This is your deep feeling that will spur you to find where you do belong.
In mythological tradition, the heroes are often cast out and abandoned, left to fend for themselves. In Greek mythology the orphaned were brought to Chiron to raise and in his home cave he taught them the heroic skills to become a warrior, a healer and a bard. This mythic motif underlies your family experience. It is the disenfranchised aspects of your self that teach you to be heroic. And ironically you are most daring when you are helping others accept their own personal limitations. Why you stand out is not because you do not fit in, but because you are one of a kind.
Being one of a kind, you are drawn to others who are marginal. Your kindred spirits understand what it is like to feel a misfit and support and encourage you to belong in your own way. You find a haven away from the normalcy of everyday life. In fact when you bring what is different about you into the heart of your life you find where you belong.
Nodes
NorthNode in Gemini
In your natal horoscope you have the North Node in Gemini and the South Node in Sagittarius signifying you have access to a breadth of knowledge. Innately you are scholastic, yet ironically schooling may never have brought this out in you. It is through your own course of study, adventure and travel beyond the horizon that have educated you. Through your own personal experiences and training you have accumulated a large library of resources and in your vocation you need to draw on these. The dragon you will fight in your professional life will be the feeling that your hard-won opinions and beliefs are the right ones for everyone. Ironically you will be called on to disseminate your ideas and beliefs but now the righteousness needs to be extracted so these concepts and ideals can be more widely distributed. By nature you are a teacher, an educator and a trainer and your vocation is to inspire others not convince them of your beliefs.
Qualities that need both development and expression in a vocation are concentrated on the faculties of communication and ideas. You need to widen your sphere of influence in order to disseminate your innate knowledge, whether that is through speaking, writing, teaching, broadcasting or telecommunications. Therefore it is important to network, make contacts and be active in the community of colleagues. With your breadth of understanding and intuition you have an uncanny sense of knowing what is right. Let your intuition, innate knowledge and far sightedness lead you concentrating on articulating and forming ideas so that your beliefs can be understood and embraced by the world at large.
Your invitation is to be a correspondent with larger ideas. Since you have an innate knack at seeing the larger picture and the underlying meaning to what is going on you are called to impart these concepts to a wider audience, becoming a practical dreamer, an everyday philosopher. Communication is a necessary part of your vocation. Whether you express your creativity through design, writing, journalism, politics, lecturing, body movements, laughter in not important; what is necessary is that you articulate these creative ideas. Any medium that can offer a venue to exchange ideas, thoughts and information is vital in you feeling vocationally content. Flexibility and the freedom to communicate are paramount. Having an instinct for education and knowledge you are able to marry this with facts, statistics and information, therefore employment which involves telecommunications, the Internet, sales, specialised information, maps, atlases, books, magazines, news, reports, and statistics might appeal. However your vocation finds you, it probably will be when you're on the move, in between or asking the larger questions about life.
Aspects
Sun Soft Uranus
The Sun is making contact with the planet Uranus in your birth chart meaning that you're a highly-talented and unique individual, determined to carve your own destiny rather than follow traditional paths. You're brimming with original and innovative ideas, which you're eager to put into action. Your goals may change during the course of your life, but this doesn't concern you, as long as you've a range of options. Doggedly independent, you like to be given the freedom to explore your talents and to learn by your own mistakes. You respect other people's individual rights, and expect them to respect yours. It's not that you're selfish. Quite the contrary. Your goal is to use your talents and ideas for the benefit of other people, perhaps even the whole of humanity. You've strong will power and are a leader rather than a follower, refusing to bow to another person's will. Others may see you as arrogant, wilful and disruptive at times, but they are attracted to your electric personality. Like moths to a flame they are fascinated by your tremendous energy and the unique manner in which you view life. You often have flashes of intuition and are capable of sudden, decisive action, which can take other people by surprise. It's possible that you've inherited your talents from a male member of your family, in particular your father. It's likely that your father, or an important father figure, has had a marked effect on your life. Perhaps you were encouraged to break free of tradition in order to develop your interests, or perhaps the absence of a dominant male meant that you experienced a lot of freedom as a child. In some cases this influence can indicate a strong father figure against whom you rebel. Either way, it's your need to be treated as an individual that's paramount. Life is full of surprises and that's the way that you like it.
Sun Soft Pluto
You're likely to achieve your life goals because you're a powerful person with strong leadership abilities. The Sun is making contact with the planet Pluto in your birth chart meaning that you know when to be assertive and when to compromise, essential qualities for succeeding in life. You're able to apply yourself to the job at hand, concentrating your energies on any project in which you wish to succeed. You're intense, obsessive and have the power to achieve your goals. At times this can be disconcerting to other people, but you're unlikely to worry about the effect that you have on other people. You like honest and direct communications, and find it easy to rid yourself of unwanted people or situations. In fact you are somewhat intolerant of other less-powerful people. It's likely that your father, or a strong parental figure, played an important role in your early childhood. You learnt at an early age how to fend for yourself. As an adult you're a real go-getter. Your challenge is to express your power in a positive manner. You may be interested in executive positions, and or in playing a prominent role in society, such as becoming a politician.
Sun Conjunction Neptune
It is time to slow down and contemplate. Spiritual, artistic and philanthropic activities are highly beneficial right now. Nature walks and trips to the seaside are also very soothing. If you have been working hard or undergoing rapid changes in your life then you would be well advised to make the most of this period. Relax and reflect. This is a time of assimilation rather than action. Feelings in connection to the past may emerge during this period. If so, then express the emotions in a safe and gentle manner and allow a growing sense of comprehension to dawn. An artistic project, spiritual retreat or philanthropic activity may be the perfect avenue to explore the softer side of your nature.
Moon Hard Saturn
Much of your adult life has been spent trying to overcome the difficulties that you faced as a child in your home and family. Astrologically speaking this is because the planet Saturn is contacting the Moon in your birth chart. Ancient astrologers believed that the planet Saturn had a malefic influence in a person's chart. In your case your early home life has been adversely affected. The extent of this effect depends largely on other influences in your chart. In some cases it can mean that your childhood home lacked spontaneity and warmth, but was well-organised and structured in a manner which helped you to feel supported and safe. However, it's more likely that circumstances in your family led to you feeling that home was a cold and unsupportive environment. This could have been one painful incident such as the loss of a family member, or it could have been the result of years of hardship. It's possible that one of your parents, perhaps your mother, was a strict and severe influence, unable to show you the affection that you felt you deserved. As a result it's likely that you're somewhat shy as an adult, lacking in self-confidence and sensitive to criticism. You may be emotionally reserved. Perhaps you have chosen at some stage in your life to live in solitude rather than risk the lack of affection and warmth that you felt as a child. As you grow older and work on your self-esteem you can build a lasting maturity. You develop an inner self-confidence which helps you build firm foundations in your life and achieve your ambitions, as well as loving family relationships. You work solidly to build yourself a secure and firm footing, earning the respect of those around you. You can succeed in business and in your career, particularly through being noticed by your superiors. You may also benefit through investments in land and property.
Mercury Hard Moon
You need to take care in your communications and education because of the unfavourable combination of the Moon and the Planet Mercury. You've a sharp mind and a quick wit, but unfortunately you've a tendency to gossip and be sarcastic rather than put your skills to good use. In some cases this combination can also highlight a tendency to dishonesty and worry. Of course you're worried, because you can only judge other people by your own standards and these may not be very high! Of course much of this depends on other influences in your birth chart. On a positive note you can turn your mind to your studies and to improving your communication skills.
Mercury Hard Saturn
The planet Mercury is making unfavourable contact with the planet Saturn in your birth chart meaning that you experience delays and obstacles in your education and communication at some stage of your life. This could be problems with teachers in early childhood education, or a change of school which proves unsatisfactory, or possibly early-learning difficulties. This is likely to have been a problem when you were a child. Perhaps a teacher or a parent was critical of your ideas, or you were shy. Perhaps circumstances, such as financial loss or death, troubled your mind or prevented you from completing your education. Whatever the scenario, it's likely that you continue to be exposed to disappointments as you grow older. You seem to be subject to criticism and opposition, hindering your plans and communications with other people. These delays are most likely to occur in connection to your studies, contracts, books, and negotiations with other people. You also need to be wary of unnecessary gloomy thoughts. At times you may sympathise with the misery of the donkey Eeyore in A. A. Milne's Winnie the Pooh. You would do well to remember that it's possible that you've become overly sensitive to criticism as a result of your childhood experiences. You may be reacting to perceived sleights, which were not intended. It's also possible that you've become set in your ideas and find it difficult to change your mind. Your rigidity may be preventing you from understanding the true meaning of other's words and actions. Although you've difficulty in communicating your thoughts to others and overcoming the obstacles in your education, you do have strong will power. Your strength of mind and persistence can be put to good use. You may be particularly interested in science, medicine, or politics, although you're more likely to adhere to traditional approaches. You've the ability to become a voice of authority in your field of expertise, particularly a field which requires. In other words you're capable of achieving whatever you set your mind to despite the obstacles.
Venus Hard Neptune
The planets Venus and Neptune are combining in a manner which indicates disappointment in your primary relationship. The problem is that you're idealistic and unrealistic when it comes to personal relationships, lacking the discriminatory powers needed to form a steady and lasting partnership. This applies to both your personal and business partnerships. Consequently you often feel disillusioned and sorry for yourself, blaming others for failing to live up to your expectations. It's possible that your partner is indeed deceiving you in some manner, but it's also possible that you're not being honest. Either way it's likely that you're seeing your primary relationship through rose-coloured glasses, and as a result conflict arises because of your lack of discernment. You're caught in a web of fantasies and romantic illusions, either of your own or your partner's making. Coming to terms with the reality of your relationship helps you obtain a better understanding of your primary relationship, and prevents you from becoming disillusioned. Taking off the rose-coloured glasses means that you can make a proper assessment of your primary relationship. As a result you'll experience fewer feelings of resentment and disappointment, and won't be in danger of overlooking some major flaws such as drug addiction or deceit. With the right partner you'll enjoy a sense of peace and fulfilment. You may also enjoy artistic or spiritual pursuits together. You're ardent and loving, responding quickly to your partner's need. In turn you benefit from acts of kindness, love and appreciation.
Venus Hard Moon
You're likely to experience problems in your relationships, particularly your relationships with women. This is because of the difficult combination of the Moon and the planet Venus in your chart. On the one hand you could tend to take your relationships for granted, spending little time or effort on improving yourself or your friendships. As a result you're likely to be somewhat unpopular and lose face. If you're looking for favours from your friends, or for a satisfactory primary relationship, then you need to take stock and improve your attitude. On the other hand it's also possible that your friends tend to take you for granted. On a more positive note you enjoy the company of other people, and may benefit through your relationships with women, but probably only with some effort on your behalf.
Venus Hard Jupiter
The planets Venus and Jupiter are combining unfavourably in your chart suggesting that you are somewhat fickle in relationships. It's not that you don't love your partner, but rather that the grass appears greener in other fields. Of course your ability to form a long-lasting relationship depends on other influences in your chart, but this combination suggests that you can be somewhat self-centred. When the going gets tough you lose interest and wander off for greener pastures. The good news is that you're likely to benefit through your partner, despite this inconsistent side of your nature. You're optimistic and talented, full of joie de vivre and optimistic plans for the future, which are likely to be successful. You're also likely to be surrounded by supportive friends, and many potential life partners. You're seeking a relationship with someone who will expand your horizons. You love to share adventures, philosophies and goals.
Venus SemiSquare Neptune
It is time for reflection rather than action. Artistic events, spiritual retreats and sojourns in nature are ideal for contemplative stage of your life. You are likely to have romantic notions right now. Let your imagination run wild. Indulge in a little daydreaming and avoid making life-changing decisions. Contracts, both business and personal, are best let alone because you are not in a practical mode - quite the opposite. Cast off as many responsibilities as is reasonable in your current circumstances and take pleasure in this creative and romantic phase. If you try to force practical matters now then you are likely to be disappointed. The more that you can relax and enjoy this phase the more you will feel rested and rejuvenated for the next phase.
Mars Hard Jupiter
The planets Mars and Jupiter are combining in your chart indicating that your hasty judgement can sometimes land you in hot water. You've plenty of motivation to achieve your goals, but lack proper judgement and discernment so that you miscalculate the amount of time and energy needed. You're careless and impulsive, and need to be careful of accidents which are a result of you rushing around and trying to achieve too much. The motto "you're your own worst enemy" could be one for you to reflect upon. Depending on other aspects in your chart you're also excessive in your generosity. You need to develop self discipline as your impulsiveness may be an impediment to reaching your goals. On a more positive note you're a lively and resourceful person, who delights in good health and keeping busy. Any course of action is entered into with confidence and determination to succeed, which you're likely to do despite the obstacles. You certainly know how to get yourself and other people motivated, and can make a good leader or manager. You may be particularly keen to travel, enjoying the stimulation of visiting other venues. You could direct your energy to achievement in sports, politics or travel. Once you have learnt to manage your resources you can achieve many of your goals.
Saturn Opposite Midheaven
With Saturn at the lowest part of your horoscope, home may have been full of rules and regulations. In this atmosphere it might have been difficult to know what you really wanted or needed. Therefore leaving home, moving interstate, emigrating abroad might be necessary in order to hear your true calling, away from the expectations and traditions of your upbringing. Whether the family atmosphere was strictly bound or had secure enough boundaries you have inherited a deep sense of responsibility and duty. Your life task is to make sure that this does not become obligation to others, but an inner sense of duty and responsibility to yourself. Your task is to set down secure enough foundations and boundaries in adult life to be able to support your vocation. Ultimately you are your worst critic but also your best advisor.
Saturn Hard Pluto
The combination of the planets Saturn and Pluto in your chart suggests that you're an ambitious, insightful and powerful person, but that you've some difficulty in achieving your ambitions. This could either be that you're overpowering in your attempts to pursue your ambitions, thereby alienating other people. This is particularly true in your relationships with anyone in authority. You don't take kindly to being ordered around by anyone. On the other hand you could also experience moments when you feel overpowered by a hostile world, uncertain of achieving your aims and objectives. The problems are likely to be rooted in your childhood, in which you struggled to find your own individual path. Perhaps one or both of your parents was particularly powerful, even violent during your childhood. It's also possible that your parents, or society's rules, couldn't handle such a powerful young personality. Either way you're likely to make a powerful impact on your friends, family, colleagues and loved ones, both as a child and an adult. At times you might be surprised by the extent of other people's reactions to your presence and opinions. You may even surprise yourself by your own reactions to some circumstances. Authority is likely to be a continuing source of difficulty in your life, as you attempt to find the right balance between your own individual rights, and those of the community. Of course there are many instances when these two rights coincide, but you're more likely to find yourself involved in the clashes. As a result you could be a powerful leader, perhaps in the government or as an executive or politician. You can be a powerful leader, but first you must learn to use your unique insights for positive purposes. The 19th Century author John Stuart Mill said in his work On Liberty (1859) that, "Everyone who desires power, desires it most over those who are nearest to him, with whom his life is passed, with whom he has most concerns in common, and in whom any independence of his authority is oftenest likely to interfere with his individual preferences". Herein lies a key to your chart. You've the ability to succeed in your ambitions, but first you must learn how to deal with the balance of power in your life, respecting both your own and other people's rights to succeed.
Uranus sextile Neptune
With Uranus Sextile Neptune, your life is enriched with opportunities presented by the Angels Zadkiel and Tamiel. Zadkiel is the Angel of Death, and Tamiel of Dreams. Together they extend your understanding of the nature of life and its limits. They also reveal the many ways you can change your life through skillful action.
You have a natural love of ritual. You find, when you think about it, that ritual pervades everything you do. You get along with other people very well because you observe the steps of ritual, entering into each conversation, activity, or association according to socially or culturally defined rules, and in so doing you put other people at ease without undo fuss or bother.
You can develop subconscious talents through conscious expression. In concert with your Angels, you express little pieces of your subconscious awareness in conversation or action. As you do this, you affirm your less conscious abilities and honor them and your Angels. Then your mind is better able to provide ideas and feelings to aid your work.
Inspired idealism may not be what you think you have been looking for, but you are certain to find it eventually. Your Angels send you dreams and ideas all the time, and you have only to pay attention to them. Your idealism provides a foundation for you to help others who experience major disasters or transformations in their lives. When you or others experience loss, your Angels are ready and willing to lift you up.
A potential weakness is the lack of stamina. Physical exercise to build lung capacity and muscle strength is well worth the effort. The physical strength you gain provides a foundation for emotional and spiritual strength.
For mental strength, meditation or yoga provide an organized practice. Kundalini yoga provides a medium for mental focus as well as physical exercise, building all the structures you need to support your developing psychic awareness.
Another possible weakness of structure could lead to high blood pressure and its associated ailments. The above mentioned exercise, meditation, and yoga all serve to reduce blood pressure and strengthen the system so as to avoid dangers of stroke and heart ailments.
Heightened psychic states including clairvoyance are the norm for this combination.
Uranus Soft Neptune
The planets Uranus and Neptune are combining in your chart suggesting that your creative urges are strong. You enjoy exploring new territory, either through studying or travelling and your talents may lie in writing, healing, social welfare, healing or spiritual fields. You may be keen to explore metaphysical matters, perhaps even belonging to a secret society or a group dedicated to global healing, charity or spirituality. Your psychic abilities and intuition are likely to be heightened, and this may help you explore your creativity.
Neptune Soft Pluto
The planets Neptune and Pluto both move slowly through the zodiac, and therefore any connection between the two planets affects birth charts for a short period of time. You were born in such a time. This combination in your chart means that you're interested in opportunities to bring about fundamental change to human values. You are aware of injustices in society and, depending on other influences in your chart, may prefer to fight against them rather than sit back and accept the ills of society. Your creative urges may be linked to politics, or expressing your political views through the arts or spiritual or charitable organisations.
Pluto sextile Neptune
With Pluto Sextile Neptune, your life is enriched with opportunities presented by the Angels Metatron and Tamiel. Metatron has been called the King of Angels and the Chief of the Ministering Angels. This Angel is thought to be the pillar of fire the Jews followed in their exodus from Egypt. He is a certain link between you and the divine. Metatron's association with Tamiel, the Angel of Primordial Energies, is extremely powerful.
You undoubtedly experience supernatural events and conditions during your life. Your Angels provide this resource and can help you refine it. Psychic impressions and intuition become second nature to you after a while. You learn to act on intuition in much the same way you would act on advice from your accountant.
One facet of the path of personal integrity for you involves purification of your soul. This means elevating your thoughts above petty jealousy and anger. While you may never overcome negative thinking entirely, working with your Angels will lift you up, step by step, to thoughts of compassion and love. Love overcomes fear and compassion overcomes hatred.
One possible expression of this aspect of your birth chart is that you have at least one extrasensory ability. At first you may experience some confusion in interpreting psychic and intuitive information as it comes to you. You are likely to overcome this confusion once you develop the necessary comprehension of your abilities and thus develop your psychic skills. Meditation each day allows your Angels to contact you more directly to help in this area.
You have the power of a storyteller combined with the wisdom of a seer. You could write fiction or dramatic scripts, and your poetry can become the liquid fire of inspiration and soothing balm for the soul.
SouthNode Soft Venus
The South Node and the planet Venus are combining in your chart to suggest that relationships play a key role in either helping or preventing you from achieving your purpose. Perhaps you struggle to relate intimately with other people, or perhaps you need to learn independence in order to focus on your own objectives. Either way, a major part of your life is spent learning about personal relating skills so that you can achieve your mission.
Chiron trine Sun
One does not usually think of a trine as related to a conflict, but Chiron changes the dynamics. In fact, with Chiron trine the Sun, there is an internal fight going on.
When you were little, people around you made a big deal about knowing yourself, knowing what you were going to do. Perhaps you were reprimanded for not having clear goals, or not knowing yourself; perhaps others tried to force their expectations upon you. In any case, there is a wound here that caused you, at an early age, to come to a firm conviction about who you are and what you are going to do. The problem is that you also tend, with this aspect, to be resistant to change as if you must hold your present self-image at any cost.
Chiron does not allow complacency, or ruts, nor does it allow a person to remain resistant to change. What happens is that, until you have begun to heal, you will periodically experience new aspects of yourself from areas that you thought you knew completely.
If you remain entrenched in your self-image, these new aspects tend either to become repressed (and then work on subconscious levels) or warped to fit in with the self-image that already exists. Once either of these things occurs the process can snowball as more insights are likewise repressed or warped. You can see the danger of continuing this process for long periods of time..
And if you refuse to grow, refuse to explore new worlds that open up before you, holding on tightly to a very limited definition of purpose, the personal world will become less fulfilling, and realistic.
The healing begins when you accept that you have much more potential than you ever allowed yourself to admit, and when you admit that any self-image you have is only temporary, subject to change as self-learning reveals more of who you are, and what you can become.
This aspect does give you a unique gift, a sense of wonder about life. There is usually also a love of all the surprises life can bring, although (until you begin to heal), you may not be too happy with unexpected surprises in your own world. This wonder is contagious, you can bring it to other people just by being near them. You have the ability to portray this wonder creatively, through art or writing. (Whether you tap the talent is up to you.)
Chiron conjunct Saturn
This aspect is a rare one. It has occurred exact only once this century (1966) , and the people born with this aspect have a unique perspective unmatched by people born any other time.
Saturn is structure, framework, and walls. It is the shell protecting a lobster, and the skeleton supporting you and me. Without Saturn, there would be no order, no structure, and we would not have any perception of apparent reality. Psychologically, it is also the rules we obey, and the conscience we must deal with; that inner voice that says ‘no’, ‘you should …’, ‘you shouldn’t … ’, ‘you can’t …’ It is any crutch one must use, until one outgrows it. Sometimes, it is absolutely necessary, it is the parent yelling “Stop!” before the little child runs onto the street, as well as the parent repeating over and over, “Look both ways before you cross the street” until the child no longer needs to be reminded. But as it says in the Bible, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.” Sometimes, Saturn goes too far, is too strict, too rigid, or does not let the person grow even though they are ready to move beyond their walls into new realms.
As you can imagine, Saturn in a chart shows the influence of authorities when a person was growing up. With the conjunction to Chiron, there is a very powerful and deep wound resulting with a clash with one or both such authority figures as a child. Whatever this wound is will initially be a source of great restriction and insecurity, perhaps even self-hatred. In most cases, one parent (usually the father), is the cause of the wound, and there can be a great deal of deep resentment towards that parent.
With most Chiron positions, a person has an outlet for their pains, although often the person needs to go through a lot of growth and healing before they can get enough in touch with the wound to share their pain, and release the hurt. But Saturn, the ‘wall’, essentially locks people up in their pain. You are forced to confront and deal with it inside, and work at it on your own. For some, this is because they were not allowed to express their hurt; some were not even allowed to experience their pain, so heavy-handed was the authority. In one way or another, physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually, you were abused by those who made the rules, or perhaps, even abandoned them altogether.
Within your own private walls, you had to deal with the hurts, and you had to try to master the issues. By mastering them, you begin to transform your Saturn. Until you begin healing the wound, you may find it a struggle to find your own place in the world. Society and culture at large can be viewed with distrust and suspicion. If you do not heal, you may find yourself overcome with cynicism, or even bitterness and reject social contact altogether.
As stated, when you begin to deal with your pain, you transform Saturn, and in doing so universalize it. You no longer see traditional rules as valid, but look to a more universal set of laws. Saturn ceases to be limitations—only handholds and steps on your journey. Once you have come to terms with this conjunction, it promises a remarkable ability to delve into the most hidden aspects of life’s most basic forms, or society’s most deeply ingrained institutions, or the structures that permeate all levels of a culture. You become an individual who learns to make your own reality. It also indicates that you will never let yourself be a prisoner to any structure, nor a prisoner of the past.
And then you find that you not only can share your pain, you can also help others to open up and share theirs.
I think of singer Edie Brickell. She made her musical debut with a song that asked, “What I am is what I am …. Are you what you are … or what?”
And then followed it with a song that attacked people who keep stuff in that bothers them by responding to “What’s the matter?” with the word “Nothing!”
“There’s nothing I hate more than nothing. “Nothing keeps me up all night. “I toss and turn over nothing. “Nothing could cause a great BIG fight.
“Hey! What’s the matter? “Don’t Tell Me Nothing!”
And she totally threw out most of the ‘shoulds’ and ‘should nots’ that society tried to impose on us. When it was time for her to fall in love, she had no problem marrying a man 25 years older than her (Paul Simon). She was writing her own rules obeying laws of a much higher authority.
Chiron opposition Uranus
Between 1952 and 1989 Chiron exactly opposed Uranus forty-one times, and was in orb of opposition for just about everyone born during those 47 years. Thus, it is more of a generational influence than an individual one.
Historically, you can see that this aspect is tied into the accelerated pace of scientific advancement during the second half of the Twentieth Century. Actually, one of the problems is that science is making discoveries faster than they can be integrated into society; even faster than proper safeguards can be devised for our protection from side effects and from the discoveries themselves.
This same ‘vibration’ is, in many ways, a part of the nature of individuals who have this aspect. There is a thirst for the new, for discovery, for experiences, that often outweighs the taking of any precautions. Others dare not try to curtail your freedom, the consequences may not be pleasant. The urge for independence can be so strong that it can create difficulties in relationships. The only relationships that truly last for someone with this aspect is one where each person is given a lot of space to be themselves, in truth, it is difficult to find someone sufficiently secure to give a partner that much freedom. It does give a real spirit, though.
The wound of the whole generation, though, can be summed up in the words, ‘fallen heroes’. For thousands of years, people had heroes to worship, people to look up to as almost godlike. But this generation has seen all of its heroes fall, or show very unheroic sides, or in one way or another, prove they are just like everyone else. As a result, your generation has had a wound that each person must learn to heal in his/her own way, but the lesson is to become one’s own hero to become the person you would like to look up to and respect.
Chiron trine Neptune
This is an aspect in effect for many people. It gives the individual a tendency to take for granted that the dreams you dream are ideals that will lead to a whole life, and may not be consciously aware of how important these dreams are to you.
If, in childhood, you were allowed to dream and express the dreams, as an adult you will feel very comfortable exploring matters of alternate realities and ideals which could slowly change the world. On the other hand, if you were told in childhood to stick to the real world, the dreams you take for granted will be just the dreams instilled in you by others. To best understand yourself, you must take time to look at your deepest dreams and decide are they truly your own, or have you just taken the dreams of others and sacrificed your own?
This aspect enables you to sojourn beyond the present world into more spiritual realms to help you heal, and it would be advisable for you to take time on a regular basis for meditation, yoga, or other transcendental activities. In fact, it is necessary, if you are to make the best of living in the day-to-day world, that you have regular times where you get away from it, and so this aspect shows that you need to be sure to allow yourself time alone.
Some of your greatest inspirations will come during these ‘journeys’. Chiron trine Neptune person Alexander G. Bell came up with the idea for the telephone while on one of his ‘journeys’ outside of his day-to-day existence.
Chiron opposition Pluto
Chiron and Pluto do not reach opposition often, but when they do they often continue that aspect for several years, creating what some call a sub-generation. In the past hundred years, they only were in opposition for one period, but everyone born from March 1961 through February 1966 have this aspect in their chart.
This aspect seems to express itself in one of two ways.
• In some natives it shows up as a great need to overcome some powerful inner hostility stemming from early childhood. This hostility may come from being constantly thwarted by parents, or from being a recipient of hostility from others in the environment. Whatever the cause, there are major lessons to learn about opening up, getting in touch with the inner rage, and then cleansing it once and for all from the system.
• In other persons, rather than anger, the expression is a need to win, to overcome obstacles and to beat any opponent. In both cases, you need to face the root of the hostility, or intensity, in order to bring about the needed healing.
It also gives a deep awareness of suffering, something you can put out of your mind but which never completely leaves you. I once read that we laugh at most jokes because it is a way to deal with the pain and suffering; we laugh because we can identify with the sorrow the object of the joke is experiencing and the laughter is a needed release.
Chiron opposition Pluto people often make excellent storytellers, and tellers of jokes, because of this powerful awareness.
