Perhaps you were reprimanded for not having clear goals, or not knowing yourself; perhaps others tried to force their expectations upon you. Chiron does not allow complacency, or ruts, nor does it allow a person to remain resistant to change. What happens is that, until you have begun to heal, you will periodically experience new aspects of yourself from areas that you thought you knew completely.

If you remain entrenched in your self-image, these new aspects tend either to become repressed (and then work on subconscious levels) or warped to fit in with the self-image that already exists. Once either of these things occurs the process can snowball as more insights are likewise repressed or warped. You can see the danger of continuing this process for long periods of time..

And if you refuse to grow, refuse to explore new worlds that open up before you, holding on tightly to a very limited definition of purpose, the personal world will become less fulfilling, and realistic.

The healing begins when you accept that you have much more potential than you ever allowed yourself to admit, and when you admit that any self-image you have is only temporary, subject to change as self-learning reveals more of who you are, and what you can become.

This aspect does give you a unique gift, a sense of wonder about life. There is usually also a love of all the surprises life can bring, although (until you begin to heal), you may not be too happy with unexpected surprises in your own world. One lesson this aspect taught you, early in life, is that no one is perfect that even our greatest heroes are human beings with faults. This aspect enables you to deal with people more as they really are, without any of the comparison of self to others that most people go through neither worshipping another as being a god, nor looking down on another as being inferior.

What is more, you are very good at making others see themselves as being very human as well. If you are responding to the wound of Chiron, however, you are quite capable of bringing others down by knowing their weaknesses. But as you heal from the wound, the ability is transformed, and you are then capable of showing others their own weaknesses if you feel that doing so will better enable them to evolve. Of course, not everyone with this aspect becomes a healer. But the ability is there, and can be tapped, with care. There are many avenues of positive expression for this aspect.

Because you truly see no one as inferior, you can work well with people who have emotional or mental problems, or other handicaps. In any communication-related field you can come across as a fellow human being, and thus reach others because they are easily accepted. In addition, this aspect does give originality to the thinking, and the realization that we should take no idea, no process for granted. Between 1952 and 1989 Chiron exactly opposed Uranus forty-one times, and was in orb of opposition for just about everyone born during those 47 years. Thus, it is more of a generational influence than an individual one.

Historically, you can see that this aspect is tied into the accelerated pace of scientific advancement during the second half of the Twentieth Century. Actually, one of the problems is that science is making discoveries faster than they can be integrated into society; even faster than proper safeguards can be devised for our protection from side effects and from the discoveries themselves.

This same ‘vibration’ is, in many ways, a part of the nature of individuals who have this aspect. There is a thirst for the new, for discovery, for experiences, that often outweighs the taking of any precautions. Others dare not try to curtail your freedom, the consequences may not be pleasant. The urge for independence can be so strong that it can create difficulties in relationships. Meditation can be painful for you at first because your body and mind are so used to rushing around every single moment. Take time to sit and meditate each day. Focus on your breath or on an object helps you gain a sense of space in which your healing can occur easily. Your Angels provide a bridge from your current state to one of greater intuitive understanding of wellness in your life.

Chiron sextile Saturn

In most individuals, it appears that Saturn dominates Chiron in this aspect. Instead of the person using a planet as a tool to bring about Chironian objectives of balance, healing, and the like, as in other Chiron sextiles, with Saturn, there is a tendency to use Chiron as a tool to bring about Saturnian objectives. Note that I said ‘tendency’ many people rise above this and allow Chiron to shape their Saturn. This is because there is a wound coming from some ‘agenda’, or ‘appropriate course of action’, or some set of rules that had to be followed and it was this ‘right’ course that was stressed above all else.

Depending on how you have begun to heal from this stifling influence, it may express itself in one of two ways. You may be a Saturn-type, or a Chiron-type. The Saturn-type wants to bring about changes in structures, or in society, that help rid them of faults (as you see them), in order to make them more truly Saturnian, that is, to make them more correct, or more the way things ‘should’ be. If you have gone in this direction, you tend to see Saturn (structuring, correct thought/correct ideas/correct actions) as the most important part of day-to-day existence, while you see Chiron (opening doors, finding ways to heal, finding unique ways of doing things) as a tool to be used to benefit Saturn. If this is you, you may truly appreciate the virtues of the individual, but only as she/he can be utilized to improve life in some way without altering the basic scheme of things.

The Chiron-type wants to Chiron-ize Saturn, to bring about changes in the basic structures of things within society to bring about fairness, rectify imbalances, and open opportunities. If this is you, then you will use any conventional methods that may seem necessary to achieve your goals but will not restrict yourself only to them; any means that works will be justified. You see Saturn (society, the status quo, the rules and mores of the world) as something that must be changed, must be improved; you will not fit in with any group or society that is unwilling to make needed changes. You will, however, fit in when you see doing so as necessary but only as far as it is necessary.

Both types relish experimentation, although the reasons for doing so depend on which direction you go.
