Your challenge is to forge ahead with your life without relying too heavily on your emotions, and yet remaining responsive to other people.

Chiron conjunct Moon

No matter what the rest of your chart is like, this aspect makes you very sensitive to vibrations of all types, so you must learn early in life some deep philosophy which takes into account unseen forces. If you don’t, you can grow up terrified of forces beyond your control. For some, this takes on a deep interest in a profound religion, but in whatever direction you were pulled towards, you needed some belief that allowed you to accept your sensitivity, and to accept the forces around you as part of the universe.

You are also extremely susceptible to influence from your personal environment, and soon develop very unique criteria (tastes) about what it takes to make you comfortable. There is a side to this aspect that can be summed up in the phrase, ‘the hunger’. On some level as a child you felt you were not getting enough of your needs fulfilled, perhaps not enough food, or enough nurturing, or comfort. As a result, until you heal the wound, you seem never to quite get your fill of something. For some, it is food, and they eat way too much; for some it is security, and they fear going out into the world; for some, it is the warmth of a companion, and they are very needy in relationships. The key to healing is to delve into the roots of your feelings, understand why you felt deprived, and forgive those who made you feel that way. In this way you can free yourself from the hunger that is rooted in the wound, and live more in the present.

Should you choose to, you can easily sway people’s emotions because you are able to tune into feelings common to everyone; some emotions most people can identify within themselves. You probably have an instinctive understanding of how to help others, as you have a deep empathy for the pains and sufferings they feel. Especially those that suffer because they must go without.

You most likely had a mother who was quite unique in some way, perhaps a researcher or pioneer in some area, or simply someone who loved to open new doors to see what was on the other side. Or she may have been involved in medicine, health, or healing, trying to find out how to help people. As a result you inherited a deep curiosity yourself, and an instinctive dislike of closed doors, a belief that nothing should block you from finding answers.

Chiron quincunx Midheaven

Quincunx is always an aspect of adjustment. Chiron shows where one needs to focus on healing, and in many ways it can be said to show the hero’s journey, the dragons one must overcome in order to become whole. The Midheaven is how you’d like the outside world to see you, and so it is your public image and the career roles you take on. Putting these together shows that you have some very deep wounds which have many levels, and have impacted on you as a child, what you wanted to be when you grew up, and as an adult, the way you see yourself professionally and dealing with the public. As a result, your career will be an ongoing journey of healing as you uncover this pain, that hurt, and work to heal them.

It can be quite difficult, with periods of seemingly long-term discomfort and perhaps low self-esteem, forcing you to adjust your ego ideal, your interaction with the public, and the career choices you make.

This can go on until you come to terms with the fact that your life will never become set, unchanging; you will always be evolving, you must always be open to new ways of looking at yourself and what you are doing with your life; and that each time you go through the healing of another wound you are stronger, more whole, and more able to handle the next ‘dragon’ you need to face.

Chiron trine Mercury

One lesson this aspect taught you, early in life, is that no one is perfect that even our greatest heroes are human beings with faults. This aspect enables you to deal with people more as they really are, without any of the comparison of self to others that most people go through neither worshipping another as being a god, nor looking down on another as being inferior.

What is more, you are very good at making others see themselves as being very human as well. If you are responding to the wound of Chiron, however, you are quite capable of bringing others down by knowing their weaknesses. But as you heal from the wound, the ability is transformed, and you are then capable of showing others their own weaknesses if you feel that doing so will better enable them to evolve. By recognizing your own humanity, and that of others, you are much better able to help people work towards becoming more whole.

Of course, not everyone with this aspect becomes a healer. But the ability is there, and can be tapped, with care. There are many avenues of positive expression for this aspect.

Because you truly see no one as inferior, you can work well with people who have emotional or mental problems, or other handicaps. In any communication-related field you can come across as a fellow human being, and thus reach others because they are easily accepted. In addition, this aspect does give originality to the thinking, and the realization that we should take no idea, no process for granted. It was probably someone with this aspect who came up with the saying, ‘If you assume, you make an ASS of U and Me.’.
