LIFE GOALS

The Sun

Just as the Sun is the centre of the earth's Solar System, so does the Sun play a vital role in your life on earth. Your life goals are linked to your Sun - its Zodiac Sign and its position in your chart. Contrary to popular belief, the Sun isn't the only planet to be considered in a person's chart, but it is an important component. The Sun gives you an indication of how you can shine in your life. You will feel truly alive when you're living the traits indicated by your Sun. Therefore it's likely that you will spend much of your life on a journey to self discovery, aiming to incorporate these traits into your life. Understanding the energy of your Sun is a good starting point to understanding yourself and your purpose in life.

The Sun is in the 1st House

Your Sun is in the 1st House of your birth chart meaning that self-expression is an important aspect of your life, because you believe strongly in the right of the individual. This is because it's so important for you to have the freedom to explore your own personal interests and make your own way in the world. Some would call you arrogant and selfish; however, you're equally determined that others should also have the ability to express themselves. You learn most through your own experiences, rather than relying on the advice of others. You may not realise it, but you also make a strong impression on those around you. They see you as assertive and independent, whether you feel it or not. Of course this does depend on other influences in your chart. You're frank and confident, proud and independent, and can be combative if you're opposed. You like to take the initiative and have the ability to focus on your own goals and methods of doing things, rather than adhering to popular opinion. For these reasons you're likely to be thrust into leadership roles, giving you the opportunity to fully express yourself. In ancient times the Sun was considered particularly strong when in the angular 1st House of a chart, highlighting your ability to live a hale and hearty life with plenty of energy to ensure that you make an impact on your environment. It also means that you're likely to succeed in your ambitions, and perhaps in rising above your station in life.

The Sun is in Scorpio

Your Sun is in the Zodiac Sign of Scorpio indicating that you're a passionate and intense individual, who likes to experience life at a very deep level. None of the superficial skating over life's surface for you. You like to penetrate life's mysteries and the intricacies of personal relationships. You demand an intimacy and honesty in your life that can be challenging to others. For this reason you may experience the crisis of loss as you frighten other people away with your intensity. However, you will soon become an expert at dealing with these crises and you will discover an ability to attract other individuals who treasure your ability to face life honestly. In fact you're an excellent counsellor as you're insightful and not frightened of tackling the minefield of emotions which surround subjects such as death, sexuality and metaphysical experiences. Ironically while you demand soul bearing from others, there is a secretive side of yourself, which if violated can spark the scorpion in you. You're also resourceful, in particular in financial matters. You often know the right place to search for information, or the right person to approach.

Jupiter

The planet Jupiter also tells you about your goals in life, in particular the areas in which you are likely to succeed. Jupiter is the planet of expansion, abundance and wisdom. Ancient astrologers believed that the planet Jupiter had a greatly beneficial effect on a person's life.

Jupiter is in the 12th House

Jupiter is also in the 12th House of your chart signifying that in life's most despairing moments you've the ability to dig deep into a well of optimism and overcome all difficulties. You're a kind-hearted person who likes to help anyone who is suffering, perhaps even working in a charitable organisation. You're more likely to work behind the scenes rather than taking on a public role, refusing to accept public accolades. Nevertheless your good works don't go unnoticed and you're likely to benefit in other ways. It's possible that you work in an institution such as a hospital or museum, where you can work quietly and unobserved. If you do have an active public life, then you benefit greatly from extended periods of time spent in seclusion. You've a great respect for ancient wisdom, the spiritual teachings of past civilisations. Secret societies may also play a beneficial role in your life. Although you may suffer setbacks during your life, these are followed by successful periods.

Jupiter is in Libra

You've the planet Jupiter in the Zodiac Sign of Libra in your birth chart indicating that you are a mild and temperate person who has a strong concern for justice. You're a born diplomat, and your concern for justice could be reflected in your choice of lifestyle or profession. Mostly you're obliging and sociable, fond of pleasure, particularly the joys of cultured entertainment or of travel abroad. However, other people would be wrong if they mistook your mild manner for meekness. You know the benefits of tackling tricky situations with diplomacy rather than aggression. Your skills in this area are formidable, and you can go a long way towards achieving your goals of justice and peaceful relationships. You're conscientious and compassionate. Social occasions are also a feature of your life, providing you with much pleasure. You enjoy being surrounded by your friends in pleasant surroundings. You're also likely to benefit through your relationships with other people, and are likely to form a happy primary relationship.

The Moon

Astrologers from different schools of thought allocate varying meanings to the Moon in a birth chart. Ancient astrologers say that the Moon changes its nature according to its phases, and merely passes on impressions from other planets rather than directly influencing a person's life. However, modern astrologers tell us that the Moon depicts a person's roots, our home and family. They say the Moon also shows our habitual nature or subconscious patterns of behaviour which stand in the way of achieving our life goals. While the Moon can show us our strengths, it can also depict our weaknesses which need to be overcome in order to be successful in life.

The Moon is in the 1st House

The Moon is placed in the 1st House of your birth chart suggesting that changing fortunes are likely to occur during your lifetime as you seek the stimulation of different homes, professions and environments. You're adaptable and generally enjoy the changes that do occur, as long as you feel that you're moving forward in your life. You're quite ambitious and enjoy being in the limelight, particularly when you feel comfortable in a public situation. Generally you're popular and well-liked because other people respond to your open manner. You're a sensitive person who is affected by the emotions other people, responding with warmth and genuine affection. If your Moon is in the signs of Aries, Capricorn, Libra, Cancer, Sagittarius, Virgo, Pisces or Gemini then you may be more timid and less inclined for public life. You're likely to be a flexible person who enjoys change. However, if your Moon is in the signs of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo or Aquarius then you're less likely to be flexible and may have more difficulty with the changing circumstances in your life. You enjoy public appearances, particularly in connection with your job. In ancient times the Moon was considered to be in a strong position when placed in the 1st House of a chart, meaning that you're in a strong position to achieve your ambitions.

The Moon is in Scorpio

With the Moon in the sign of Scorpio you've an emotional intensity that often those close to you simply can't comprehend. You feel things so strongly and seem to notice nuances that pass others by. However, so often others accuse you of being overly sensitive that you have learned to keep your feelings secret. This is a bit dramatic, but then you can enjoy a bit of drama in life. It can help you to feel alive. You don't like to be bored by the daily routine of life. Your insights into the human psyche are very perceptive, and you're capable of handling very emotional situations well. You wish that others also wanted to experience this intensity. Crises, which would scare many other brave-hearted souls, provide you with grist for life's mill for they give you the opportunity to share intimate moments with loved ones. Drama may have entered your life at quite a young age, even as early as your birth. You probably entered the world under a cloak of strong adult emotions involving death, or experienced a dramatic birth in which your life hung in the balance. It's likely that your mother was at the centre of this trauma, and that as a result you've intense feelings either for or against your mother. These emotions may spill over into your relationships with women friends in your life. They have certainly given you the ability to understand others at a very deep level. From an astrological point of view the Moon is in its fall in the sign of Scorpio highlighting the difficulties that you may experience in being understood by others.

The Moon is Square Saturn

Much of your adult life has been spent trying to overcome the difficulties that you faced as a child in your home and family. Astrologically speaking this is because the planet Saturn is contacting the Moon in your birth chart. Ancient astrologers believed that the planet Saturn had a malefic influence in a person's chart. In your case your early home life has been adversely affected. The extent of this effect depends largely on other influences in your chart. In some cases it can mean that your childhood home lacked spontaneity and warmth, but was well-organised and structured in a manner which helped you to feel supported and safe. However, it's more likely that circumstances in your family led to you feeling that home was a cold and unsupportive environment. This could have been one painful incident such as the loss of a family member, or it could have been the result of years of hardship. It's possible that one of your parents, perhaps your mother, was a strict and severe influence, unable to show you the affection that you felt you deserved. As a result it's likely that you're somewhat shy as an adult, lacking in self-confidence and sensitive to criticism. You may be emotionally reserved. Perhaps you have chosen at some stage in your life to live in solitude rather than risk the lack of affection and warmth that you felt as a child. As you grow older and work on your self-esteem you can build a lasting maturity. You develop an inner self-confidence which helps you build firm foundations in your life and achieve your ambitions, as well as loving family relationships. You work solidly to build yourself a secure and firm footing, earning the respect of those around you. You can succeed in business and in your career, particularly through being noticed by your superiors. You may also benefit through investments in land and property.

Uranus is Opposite The Midheaven

This placement of the erratic planet Uranus can work in numerous ways. In some cases it indicates an unsettled early family life, which continues to affect your adult life choices. Perhaps your family was itinerant. You may, or may not, enjoy the lack of stability in your home, depending on other aspects of your nature. This placement could also indicate that you are the odd one out in your family, or that you take after your father’s side of the family, which is slightly eccentric or highly intellectual. You, or your father, may have broken away from the family bonds, determined to express your authentic self. One way or another your home life is likely to be busy, with an unconventional household. You enjoy having the freedom to express your individual nature in your home, whether that means decorating your home in just the way that you like, or neglecting the household completely in favour of other stimulating pursuits. Your pursuit of freedom may also affect your choice of career and life partner. You may need a job, or a spouse, that gives you plenty of room to spread your wings.

Neptune is Opposite The Midheaven

You are a born dreamer. Whether or not your dreams reach fruition depends on other aspects of your birth chart. Ideally you seek a place of refuge that enables you to withdraw from society, contemplate nature and beauty and indulge in imaginative pastimes at home. However, you may have to face a few skeletons in the family closet before reaching this ideal scenario. Whether or not family members are aware of the skeletons, it's you who needs to face the reality, rather than build a fantasy picture of your childhood home and family. Your home life is likely to have been influenced by your father, in some cases his absence due to work or illness. It's also possible that a grandmother had an important influence on your early childhood and family life. As an adult you may repeatedly attempt to recreate a home that will reflect the ideal held in your mind, or go in search of the security, which was absent as a child. On the other hand you may be well aware of the peculiarities of your childhood home or family, recalling a sense of loss or disillusion. As the memories fade you are able to find a sense of belonging within yourself, and then in your home and an adult family. You're likely to benefit from the healing effects of living near water, or in wide-open spaces. You may also enjoy living in a large apartment block, reveling in the anonymity. It is possible that your spiritual, creative or artistic journey is reflected in your career choice.
