LIFE GOALS

The Sun

Just as the Sun is the centre of the earth's Solar System, so does the Sun play a vital role in your life on earth. Your life goals are linked to your Sun - its Zodiac Sign and its position in your chart. Contrary to popular belief, the Sun isn't the only planet to be considered in a person's chart, but it is an important component. The Sun gives you an indication of how you can shine in your life. You will feel truly alive when you're living the traits indicated by your Sun. Therefore it's likely that you will spend much of your life on a journey to self discovery, aiming to incorporate these traits into your life. Understanding the energy of your Sun is a good starting point to understanding yourself and your purpose in life.

The Sun is in the 7th House

Your Sun is in the 7th House of your birth chart meaning that relationships are a major feature of your life, both personal and business ones. You feel most warm-hearted and loving when relating to other people, in particular your primary partner. You really shine in your own life when happily married, living or working closely with someone else in partnership. It's not that you don't like time on your own, it's simply that you enjoy being in partnership with someone else. Depending on other sections of your birth chart, you're likely to benefit through your partnerships. You're popular amongst your friends and business colleagues and therefore likely to attract happy unions. A fortunate partnership is likely to help you shine in the world and achieve your goals, and success comes to you through beneficial business partnerships. Any difficulties that arise in these relationships can usually be resolved by talking through the problems, either with your partner or through a third party, a mediator. Ancient astrologers considered the Sun placed in the 7th House of a chart to be a fortunate position enabling a person to achieve their goals in life through their partnerships with other people.

The Sun is in Sagittarius

Your Sun is in the Zodiac Sign of Sagittarius indicating that you're a sunny and optimistic individual, with a love of adventure. In fact adventure plays a key role in your life, whether it be literally travelling around the globe, or metaphorically speaking exploring the world of ideas and philosophy. You're particularly enthusiastic about anything that expands your world and helps you forget about daily chores. Religion, law, sport, philosophy, academia, and ethics are just some of the many areas which provide a gourmet of ideas for exploration. For these reasons you're also likely to be attracted to people from foreign lands, who help to give you a fresh and different perspective on life. You also enjoy setting goals, as looking forward to a new vision provides excitement. Your excitement is contagious, and this can be uplifting and a lesson to those around you. But you need to beware of grandiosity, and remember to enjoy the present moment. In your eagerness to embrace life and all of its possibilities you need also to be aware that others may lack your enthusiasm. While you certainly have the ability to inspire and teach others, you need also to learn tact and diplomacy in your approach. You may be surprised to learn that you possess a tendency to be blunt which needs to be reined in from time to time.

The Sun is Conjunct Mercury

The combination of the Sun and the planet Mercury in your chart can vary depending on other influences in your chart. The planet Mercury is considered by astrologers to represent the trickster. Ancient astrologers also measured the beneficial or damaging influences of Mercury in terms of how close this planet was to the Sun's beams. The closer the planet to the Sun the more detrimental. Positively this combination can mean that you're likely to succeed in life through your quick wit and business acumen. You're studious, learning new subjects with ease, and are particularly adept in the scientific and mathematical fields. On the other hand you can be too fond of seeking stimulation, with the cost of failing to complete a task. You're the proverbial "Jack or Jill of all trades, master/mistress of none".

The Sun is Conjunct Venus

The combination of the Sun and the planet Venus in your chart can vary depending on other influences in your chart. Ancient astrologers measured the beneficial or damaging influences of Venus in terms of how close this planet was to the Sun's beams. The closer the planet to the Sun the more detrimental. On the positive side you're fond of company and pleasure, particularly seeking the company of women friends. You take pleasure in caring for your appearance, and in attending pleasurable outings. Dancing, music, art, theatre and other artistic pursuits are also appealing. On the other hand you could be over-indulgent, spending too much time and money on your appearance, and seeking pleasure at the cost of achieving your goals in life.

The Sun is Trine Uranus

The Sun is making contact with the planet Uranus in your birth chart meaning that you're a highly-talented and unique individual, determined to carve your own destiny rather than follow traditional paths. You're brimming with original and innovative ideas, which you're eager to put into action. Your goals may change during the course of your life, but this doesn't concern you, as long as you've a range of options. Doggedly independent, you like to be given the freedom to explore your talents and to learn by your own mistakes. You respect other people's individual rights, and expect them to respect yours. It's not that you're selfish. Quite the contrary. Your goal is to use your talents and ideas for the benefit of other people, perhaps even the whole of humanity. You've strong will power and are a leader rather than a follower, refusing to bow to another person's will. Others may see you as arrogant, wilful and disruptive at times, but they are attracted to your electric personality. Like moths to a flame they are fascinated by your tremendous energy and the unique manner in which you view life. You often have flashes of intuition and are capable of sudden, decisive action, which can take other people by surprise. It's possible that you've inherited your talents from a male member of your family, in particular your father. It's likely that your father, or an important father figure, has had a marked effect on your life. Perhaps you were encouraged to break free of tradition in order to develop your interests, or perhaps the absence of a dominant male meant that you experienced a lot of freedom as a child. In some cases this influence can indicate a strong father figure against whom you rebel. Either way, it's your need to be treated as an individual that's paramount. Life is full of surprises and that's the way that you like it.

The Sun is Sesquisquare Neptune

Your lack of confidence is likely to stand in your way in achieving your life goals. This is because the Sun is making a difficult aspect to the planet Neptune in your birth chart. You're a sympathetic and kind person, but you're apt to be overwhelmed by the injustices of the world. As a result you lose sight of your goals and become confused about your direction. It's also possible that you allow other people to tell you how to live your life. You're so eager to please others, that you find it difficult to assert your own rights and beliefs. At times like these you may benefit from moments of quiet reflection, or meditation, which enable you to develop an ability to rely on your own inner resources. It's possible that your confusion stems from childhood experience with your father, or a father figure. Perhaps this person was weak or ill and unable to support your development, or perhaps the death or absence of a father strongly influenced your life. Either way the result is that you've difficulty finding a firm footing on which to base your life as an adult. Your challenge is to learn to trust your own intuition, and to use your artistic and sensitive nature for the benefit of other people without losing yourself.

Jupiter

The planet Jupiter also tells you about your goals in life, in particular the areas in which you are likely to succeed. Jupiter is the planet of expansion, abundance and wisdom. Ancient astrologers believed that the planet Jupiter had a greatly beneficial effect on a person's life.

Jupiter is in the 1st House

Jupiter is also in the 1st House of your chart signifying that you've a zest for life which makes other people sit up and take notice. This is fortunate because you do like to be the centre of attention, whether in the company of a small or large gathering. You also know how to best utilise your popularity. Whether it is quietly pursuing your own interests behind the scenes, or lecturing in front of a crowd of people, other people seem only too happy to help you achieve your goals. You're a natural-born teacher. This could be tutoring on a one-to-one basis, or teaching a room full of adults or children. Your optimism and enthusiasm are contagious, and you're likely to attract prominent positions in the field of education, and in business circles. You've a philosophical approach to most things in life, preferring to leave matters in the laps of the Gods rather than worry too much. This could be because you have a tendency to fall on your feet, no matter how difficult a situation. Ancient astrologers believe that the planet Jupiter has a beneficial effect in a person's birth chart. They also believe that it's most powerfully favourable in the angular 1st House. This means that you're likely to be successful in achieving your goals.

Jupiter is in Gemini

You've the planet Jupiter in the Zodiac Sign of Gemini in your birth chart indicating that education is a major factor in your life as you seek information on a variety of subjects, ranging from the mundane to the occult. You're searching for a constant exchange of information to stimulate your active mind - any form of mental recreation will do, because you enjoy learning new things. This enjoyment is contagious and other people enjoy your company. They are also drawn to your affable nature. You're a good-natured person with a kind word for everyone, and a tendency to be concerned for humanity as whole. You love travelling to other countries, or any place which broadens your education and brings you into contact with other people. Problems can arise when you don't have an outlet for your insatiable curiosity and you can become restless and disoriented, but this is unusual. Generally you've a variety of options to consider and are spoiled for choice. You're a versatile student and an entertaining teacher, and are particularly attracted to novel ideas. You may also be a talented writer with a gift for prophecy. Astrologically speaking the planet Jupiter is considered to be in an ill-favoured position in the sign of Gemini. Therefore you should be wary of scattering your energies and failing to achieve your goals.

Jupiter is Opposite Saturn

You can succeed in achieving your life goals, but only after you've learnt to balance the conventional and unorthodox sides of your nature. This is because the planets Jupiter and Saturn are making a difficult aspect in your birth chart. There is a dissident side to your nature, which you've difficulty keeping under control. Unrestrained enthusiasm can lead you into trouble. At other times there's an orthodox side which is overly cautious, causing you to hesitate unnecessarily when action is required. Finding the right balance is hard work. Generally speaking you're a poor judge of when to take action and when to wait patiently. As a result you're likely to suffer financial loss if speculating in the business or financial world. You would also do well, if possible, to steer clear of lawsuits. On a positive note when you can blend the two opposing forces you're capable of great things. You can enjoy success in self-employment or be a valued member of a team, particularly in the business world. Once a balance is achieved you're sure of achieving your objectives in life.

The Moon

Astrologers from different schools of thought allocate varying meanings to the Moon in a birth chart. Ancient astrologers say that the Moon changes its nature according to its phases, and merely passes on impressions from other planets rather than directly influencing a person's life. However, modern astrologers tell us that the Moon depicts a person's roots, our home and family. They say the Moon also shows our habitual nature or subconscious patterns of behaviour which stand in the way of achieving our life goals. While the Moon can show us our strengths, it can also depict our weaknesses which need to be overcome in order to be successful in life.

The Moon is in the 8th House

The Moon is placed in the 8th House of your birth chart suggesting that you are a sensitive person. Your emotional antennae are switched on to “high”. This may have something to do with an event connected to your mother or childhood. You may develop a facade to try to protect your sensitive feelings, but beneath this outer layer you are aware of the emotional undercurrents on most situations. As a result you may develop a need to understand the cycles of life and the metaphysical nature of the world. Why do people behave in the way that they do? What affect do the natural cycles have on human behaviour? What happens after death? Why do certain events seem to be synchronised? These are all questions which could be food for thought. You may even go further and delve into metaphysical matters. On the other hand you may seek security through the material world, and seek to accumulate wealth. Your early childhood experiences opened many doors of enquiry, which can't be closed. You've the ability to develop your interest in the occult world and to use your discoveries for practical results in your own and other people's lives. Although financial gain can't make up for the possible upsets that you suffered earlier in life, you're likely to benefit through inheritances, particularly from your mother's side of the family. This, of course, depends on other influences in your birth chart. In some cases it's the lack of financial support during childhood which can deeply affect your adult life. If this is the case you may seek comfort through other people's resources – monetary and emotional - whether this is through joint projects or investments.

The Moon is in Capricorn

With the Moon in the sign of Capricorn you feel most secure when life is structured and predictable, choosing the straight and narrow path which involves the least risks. You find comfort in hard work, often spending more and more time at work when life becomes emotionally difficult. You need to remind yourself not to take life so seriously, to go out and play, and relax. The problem is that, astrologically, the Moon is in detriment in Capricorn, meaning that your need for emotional security can be an obstacle to forming warm and loving human relationships. While your ability to remain emotionally distant can have the advantages of allowing you to stay calm and detached in a crisis, it can also prevent you from taking the risks needed to get close to others. This is particularly so when you're young. As you grow older and more mature you develop, step-by-step, the ability to build long-lasting and meaningful relationships with your loved ones.

The Moon is Trine Mars

The Moon is making an aspect to Mars in your chart indicating that your home life is active and boisterous, rather than a peaceful environment. Fortunately you're an impulsive and emotional person, who prefers action to becoming bored by inactivity. You're likely to feel more comfortable when faced with a challenge. For this reason you may enjoy working around the house or working from home. It's possible that your need for an active home life stems from your childhood home environment, which was busy and boisterous. Perhaps your mother, or a strong woman in your household, was vivacious and dynamic, possibly even fiery. In some cases male members of the family can display these traits. Either way at a young age you learnt how to enjoy a spirited home life, which you've carried into your adult life. You need to be wary of a lack of sensitivity to other people's feelings. Not everyone is as feisty as you. You could also try to avoid becoming embroiled in arguments with women. This could be difficult as you're impetuous, liable to act without thinking. Mostly you enjoy the challenge of new activity, but at times your vigorous nature can land you in hot water.

Uranus is Opposite The Midheaven

This placement of the erratic planet Uranus can work in numerous ways. In some cases it indicates an unsettled early family life, which continues to affect your adult life choices. Perhaps your family was itinerant. You may, or may not, enjoy the lack of stability in your home, depending on other aspects of your nature. This placement could also indicate that you are the odd one out in your family, or that you take after your father’s side of the family, which is slightly eccentric or highly intellectual. You, or your father, may have broken away from the family bonds, determined to express your authentic self. One way or another your home life is likely to be busy, with an unconventional household. You enjoy having the freedom to express your individual nature in your home, whether that means decorating your home in just the way that you like, or neglecting the household completely in favour of other stimulating pursuits. Your pursuit of freedom may also affect your choice of career and life partner. You may need a job, or a spouse, that gives you plenty of room to spread your wings.
