Perhaps you were reprimanded for not having clear goals, or not knowing yourself; perhaps others tried to force their expectations upon you. In any case, there is a wound here that caused you, at an early age, to come to a firm conviction about who you are and what you are going to do. The problem is that you also tend, with this aspect, to be resistant to change as if you must hold your present self-image at any cost.

Chiron does not allow complacency, or ruts, nor does it allow a person to remain resistant to change. What happens is that, until you have begun to heal, you will periodically experience new aspects of yourself from areas that you thought you knew completely.

If you remain entrenched in your self-image, these new aspects tend either to become repressed (and then work on subconscious levels) or warped to fit in with the self-image that already exists. Once either of these things occurs the process can snowball as more insights are likewise repressed or warped. You can see the danger of continuing this process for long periods of time..

And if you refuse to grow, refuse to explore new worlds that open up before you, holding on tightly to a very limited definition of purpose, the personal world will become less fulfilling, and realistic.

The healing begins when you accept that you have much more potential than you ever allowed yourself to admit, and when you admit that any self-image you have is only temporary, subject to change as self-learning reveals more of who you are, and what you can become.

This aspect does give you a unique gift, a sense of wonder about life. There is usually also a love of all the surprises life can bring, although (until you begin to heal), you may not be too happy with unexpected surprises in your own world. This wonder is contagious, you can bring it to other people just by being near them. You have the ability to portray this wonder creatively, through art or writing. (Whether you tap the talent is up to you.)

Chiron trine Jupiter

With any Chiron trine, the deep wound is a battle between growing versus following a particular path and getting stuck. With Jupiter, it is in the realm of beliefs, and philosophies, as well as in understanding how other people think.

Part of the problem lies in the early years of life. You had experiences both good and bad that forced revision of your belief system. The experiences came from the most unexpected directions from areas where you assumed you knew pretty much all there was to know. These experiences made you learn quickly about other people, what makes them tick and what others believe. In this learning, you may frequently get remarkable insights, but there is a tendency too often of taking them for granted after a while. In this there is a hazard by taking insights for granted, you tend to feel free to use these insights any way you want. What is more, no one is perfect, so your insights may not always be on the mark but the tendency is to not question them. (When they are right, this is no problem, but when they are not, there can be serious consequences.)

On a more positive note, this aspect enables you to catch even the smallest nuance of any situation, or of a person’s behaviour, and make good use of what is perceived. In the arts, or communication, you can use this ability to make others see themselves or some very specific aspect of themselves.

Chiron opposition Saturn

On a positive level, this aspect can give you the strength to triumph against seemingly impossible odds. It makes you a fighter for your principles and you can have very strong principles.

No one, nor anything, is going to stand in your way when you are striving for some goal. On some level you likely perceive life, or at least part of it, as a war between what is, and what should be, and are convinced that what should be is the winning side.

If you have not worked your way through your wounds, however, the negative side can manifest and you can be quite ruthless in your methods, believing, ‘The end justifies the means.’. If other aspects also point in this direction, you can become a truly dangerous foe to anyone who stands in your way. There is a tendency with those who have this aspect to become totally convinced of being right on some issue, and then become closed off from any information that points to the contrary. But, as in all Chiron aspects, if you go too far along this line, drastic events will come along to shake your closed world. The normal reaction is one of two things: Either to pull the walls more tightly around self, and thus begin to see others as enemies, or to recognize that no human being can ever know all the facts on any subject. If the latter path is chosen, then you have the chance to develop a keen eye to search for new information, new facts, new data where others do not go.
