Your Sun Sign
Sun in Cancer
While kindness may not be exclusively the domain of Cancer, this virtue is shaped from the bonds of kinship first experienced in the home. Family values such as doing good rather than harm, being friendly, compassionate and helpful are the tender-hearted acts that promote the virtue of kindness. Deep inside these are virtues that inspire you. Even if your family upbringing did not provide the stability you needed to feel safe, you feel drawn to nurturing and acts of kindness.
Like crabs that dwell on the threshold of the sea Cancer is sensitised to the shape shifting seas and its tidal cycle. It secures its home regardless of the fluctuation in fortunes and the alternating tides. For you this instinctual truth suggests you have the ability to find stability within the daily tides of feelings, which swell, ebb, flood and retract. You feel compelled to find a secure place on the edge of life's upheavals and live in the world without being swept away by emotional complexity. You build a strong enough shell to contain your feelings so that you are able to love and care without harm to your tender heart.
When you feel safe and protected you emerge from your shell to demonstrate your caring, affection, warmth and kindness. You are vulnerable and tender, slow to trust and warm up, but when you feel securely attached then your heart opens to care and nurture others. Your instinct is to protect the vulnerable, shelter the homeless and care for the sensitive. Being so responsive to others, you are finely attuned to what others need. Moved by the plight of those less fortunate, those in distress or people, who feel hurt or rejected, you are able to demonstrate kindness and compassion. You are strongly influenced by the maternal archetype, whose natural instinct is to nurture, protect, shelter and foster those who are vulnerable.
Charity begins at home, which is your domain. Donald Winnicott reminded us that home is where we start from and having a secure enough base allows us to wander into the world with the legacy of a sympathetic ear and a tender heart. Therefore one of your labours of life is to find your home, where you belong, and your ancestry. This might take some time. In the meantime you will have different places where you settle in your search for home. Along the way you bring warmth and character to your tasks. To find your vitality and spirit and to feel soulful in the world you need to strive to find the qualities of caring, helpfulness, protection, sympathy and tenderness.
Your Moon Sign
Moon in Taurus
With your Moon in Taurus your need for security and stability is high. In your daily life you would prefer a stable environment where you can settle and not be rushed or surprised. It is important to know what you are meant to be doing; therefore in any job it would be necessary for you to take care of these needs. You also need to feel valued in your work and that you are providing an essential service through your tasks, no matter how routine or repetitive they are. Therefore income is an important consideration for you, as it is necessary to feel that you are able to support yourself as well as speak up when you feel it is time for a raise or promotion. Since you are committed to the long term, you need to proceed along the career path step-by-step. You also need tangible results in what you do and be able to monitor your own development.
From an early age you were instinctually drawn to nature and content to be surrounded by its natural beauty. To care for your soul in the tasks of an everyday life, you need to be comfortable and secure in what you do and where you are, involved with the sensual aspects of life. You need to nurture your self through what you do; if you do not find this security through your daily life you might find yourself drawn to food and pleasure as a replacement.
If you are drawn to the nurturing professions then your Moon in Taurus is instinctually drawn to a hands-on sensual approach, such as massage, aromatherapy, chiropractic work, nursing etc. You may be drawn to your vocation due to sensual urges. For instance if your particularly enjoyed the sense of touch, you might consider massage; if it were sight, you may be drawn to design or if it were taste, you might have an innate flair for food preparation and cooking.
Your Rising Sign
Ascendant in Libra
Retail therapy does not soothe the soul. It may relieve temporary uncomfortable thoughts and feelings, acting as a distraction, but it is not really a solution. You know this. You are a born diplomat so you know that when upsets occur a new object does not really satisfy, that eventually the conflict needs to be resolved. But you have Libra Rising and so you also know how soothing a lovely object can be for a short time. This is your dilemma. Your true purpose is to sooth troubled waters, and not via financial means. Possessions are beautiful and hold some value but the higher path is the one that offers true joy. You're courteous, affectionate, thoughtful, modest and indecisive. Much of your life's purpose is connected with your relationships, both personal and professional. Human relationships are your primary motivation in life. You spend much of your time devoted to thinking about the needs and wishes of other people, ensuring that everyone is treating each other in a fair manner. For this reason your purpose may be connected with justice, mediation or diplomatic work. Harmony is so important for your well-being. If you would like to focus on a positive affirmation connected to money then with your Libran Ascendant you could use this one from “Creating Money – Keys to Abundance”by Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer “Everything I do adds beauty, harmony, order and light to the universe”.
Planets in Signs
Mercury in Leo
The planet Mercury in the zodiac sign of Leo indicates that you're enthusiastic in your quest for knowledge, and generous in sharing all that you've learnt even though it's sometimes to a somewhat reluctant audience. Mostly others enjoy listening to your creative story-telling talents, and find themselves enthralled by your lively communication. You may even find yourself on the stage during some time in your life. You do like the sound of our own voice. And why not? You're proud of your learning abilities, and believe in the saying that learning is fun. Your enthusiasm can be contagious. You can be creative in your thought process, and have an appreciation of the arts. You can also enjoy conversing with children. While it's true that you're an enthusiastic communicator, it's also true that your mind often turns to thoughts of your own ambitions. You're confident in your ability to communicate with others, and know that this trait could push you into a leadership role. As long as you keep your tendency to be a know-it-all under check, then you should succeed.
Venus in Taurus
With Venus in the sign of Taurus romance and reliability go hand in hand. You approach relationships slowly and steadily, looking for someone who will prove solid and secure. You've a practical attitude to forming a relationship, weighing up all of the pros and cons. As much as possible you hold back before making a commitment, so that you can assess a person's true worth. You're interested in your potential partner's values, both morally and materially speaking. Do their actions match their words? Do they have substance? These are the kind of questions that you consider. The reason for this is that you're seeking security. You're not the kind of person who lightly commits to a relationship, as you're well aware of all of the pitfalls of romance without substance. You want a relationship to be long-lasting, and prefer a traditional marriage arrangement. Once you've given your word, you can be counted on to be fully committed to your loved one. It's not that you lack romance. Quite the contrary. You're a very sensual person, who enjoys the warmth and physical side of a close relationship. It's simply that you're seeking the security of a long-term relationship before you allow yourself the luxury of romance and sensual pleasures. Your attitude to money matters also reflects this attitude. You enjoy the finer things of life, and are prepared to slowly and steadily work towards accumulating them. Financial security is important, and you may look to your primary relationship to provide you with some extra comforts in life.
Mars in Cancer
The planet Mars in the sign of Cancer indicates that you have powerful emotions which can be used to protect and nurture your loved ones close to home, or to fight for a cause further afield. You're not afraid to use your strength to battle against injustice on other people's behalf. You can also be very protective of small or defenceless animals. You can move mountains when your powerful emotions are channelled into a positive cause; however, you need to be wary of misdirecting your energy and becoming vengeful. You're so vehemently opposed to injustice that you can nurse ill-feelings towards those you consider to be the perpetrators of wrong-doing. This can result in outbursts of temper or plans for revenge. Although you're assertive, even aggressive, when it comes to protecting the feelings and rights of others, you're likely to retreat into your shell when personally hurt. You find it much more difficult to stand up for your own personal rights than you do for others. Astrologically the planet Mars is considered to be in a difficult position in the sign of Cancer meaning that you could have some difficulties directing your energies into positive pursuits.
Jupiter in Gemini
You've the planet Jupiter in the zodiac sign of Gemini in your birth chart indicating that education is a major factor in your life as you seek information on a variety of subjects, ranging from the mundane to the occult. You're searching for a constant exchange of information to stimulate your active mind - any form of mental recreation will do, because you enjoy learning new things. This enjoyment is contagious and other people enjoy your company. They are also drawn to your affable nature. You're a good-natured person with a kind word for everyone, and a tendency to be concerned for humanity as whole. You love travelling to other countries, or any place which broadens your education and brings you into contact with other people. Problems can arise when you don't have an outlet for your insatiable curiosity and you can become restless and disoriented, but this is unusual. Generally you've a variety of options to consider and are spoiled for choice. You're a versatile student and an entertaining teacher, and are particularly attracted to novel ideas. You may also be a talented writer with a gift for prophecy. Astrologically speaking the planet Jupiter is considered to be in an ill-favoured position in the sign of Gemini. Therefore you should be wary of scattering your energies and failing to achieve your goals.
Saturn in Libra
The planet Saturn in the sign of Libra signifies that you're committed to both intimate and business partners, and these relationships have a significant effect on your private and professional life. In particular your primary partner or a close female friend is likely to play a profound role in your life. This can be positive or negative, perhaps both. You've refined tastes and the ability to work towards being able to satisfy these tastes, but it's the relationships in your life which are the most important influence. These influences are likely to be positive, because the planet Saturn is considered to be in a positive position in the sign of Libra. However, it's also possible that you could suffer loss as a result of key relationships. You've the ability to arbitrate and bring together opposing parties, and this could help you rise above any difficulties. You could also use these gifts in your profession, choosing a job in diplomatic circles or social work. You need only be wary of being too diplomatic. Sometimes it's important to express your own opinions in a forceful manner rather than try to please other people. If you can overcome this tendency to excessive politeness then you're able to achieve your ambitions through your liaisons with other people.
Uranus in Cancer
The planet Uranus was in the sign of Cancer from 1949 - 1956. It's important to note that Uranus spends a long time in each sign, and therefore the interpretation applies to a generation rather than the individual. For a more individual interpretation you need to look at the house position of Uranus in your chart. Uranus in the sign of Cancer indicates that you belong to a generation which nurtures the ideas of the previous generation. This generation is concerned about the welfare of society, global communication, caring for suffering people in the international community, about the changes in family life and the effects of technology. Your creativity soars when you're tackling these issues.
Neptune in Libra
The planet Neptune was in the sign of Libra from 1942 - 1957. It's important to note that Neptune takes about 164 years to make a complete cycle, spending about thirteen years in each sign, and therefore the interpretation applies to a generation rather than the individual. For a more individual interpretation you need to look at the house position of Neptune in your chart. Neptune in the sign of Libra indicates that you belong to a generation possessing the ability to view human relationships from a more spiritual overall viewpoint, rather than the rules and regulations of the previous (Virgo) generation. It's during this time that some confusion over right human relations may reign. People of this generation will aim to achieve a balance in human relationships. You'll also be concerned with justice.
Pluto in Leo
The planet Pluto was in the sign of Leo from 1939 - 1957. It's important to note that Pluto takes about 248 years to make a complete cycle, spending 12 - 32 years in each sign, and therefore the interpretation applies to a generation rather than the individual. For a more individual interpretation you need to look at the house position of Pluto in your chart. Pluto in the sign of Leo suggests that you belong to a generation of people concerned with the lack of or acquiring of power. People of this generation have the ability to use power both positively and negatively. World power and leadership are also important issues for these people.
Chiron in Capricorn
You are adept at taking on responsibilities and commitments, but they may bring you some stress. This is particularly the case in respect to your career, but also in your home life and other areas. Perhaps you were encouraged to follow in the footsteps of a parent, or a family tradition, as far as a career path was concerned. Later, you might feel resentment that your own skills or interests were not encouraged. You may have issues with either of your parents concerning the rules and regulations that were set down for you to follow. These are potentially some of the things you need to work to resolve.
It is important that you take responsibility for your own life and try another career if you are not feeling fulfilled. Don't let your responsibilities become a burden. Key questions for you to consider are: What am I taking responsibility for? What are my goals and priorities? Do I have to carry this load on my own? Why am I doing this?
Business or work pressure, the pressure of responsibilities, stress from your parents, responsibilities of parenthood, or/and difficult encounters with government agencies, can be signals that these issues need to be addressed. If you experience health concerns with bones, joints, teeth, skin, knees, or back problems it is time to consider healing options such as massage, chiropractic, or osteopathy. Most importantly, strike a life/work balance.
Your journey may involve one or more major career changes, which could be quite scary initially, because it means giving up some measure of security, while also embracing change and the unknown.
At some point you might consider a career in the health sector, or as a teacher. In fact, once you have experienced healing in your own life, to embark on this journey will bring fulfilment, but it is important that you first deal with your own stress and wellbeing. Try to remain positive and adaptable and recognise that you do have choices. Within these challenges, you will find the key to your freedom and success.
Planets in Houses
Sun in 9th House
The progressed Sun moves slowly through the houses. The ninth house of your chart is currently emphasized indicating that you are keen to spread your wings and explore new horizons. Travel, religion, cultural pursuits, sports and philanthropy are all themes. You may also be keen to communicate some of your own life philosophies or publish an artistic or written work. You need to expand your horizons or you will feel imprisoned by other people's expectations and society's limitations. Knowledge is the key to wisdom and understanding.
Moon in 7th House
Partnerships are highlighted during this phase. You are likely to reassess your agreements with any existing marriage and business partnerships. Perhaps you have been spending a lot of time at work lately and now you realize that you need to spend more time with your spouse. On the other hand you may simply feel the urge to form a closer bond to your loved one. In some cases you may feel restless, eager for change in your marriage but powerless to instigate changes that more truly reflect your needs. If this is the case then you are likely to seriously reconsider your marriage contract. You need to communicate the depth of your feelings to your loved one. Counseling may also be beneficial before you make any major life changing decisions. If you are not married then you are likely to start searching for a suitable partner. Life as a single person is no longer as appealing and you are keen to form an intimate relationship. Sharing your life with someone else becomes a goal. Business partnerships also come under close scrutiny now. You are keen to ensure that your business partnerships are as productive as possible. Therefore you are likely to focus on making changes to any existing contracts, perhaps even ending an unproductive arrangement. This could involve legal proceedings. It is also possible that you consider a formal business partnership now. You have plenty of energy for gathering the relevant facts and figures, discussing possibilities and seeking the legal advice necessary before signing any formal agreement. The sign of your Progressed Moon highlights the manner in which you are likely to seek new partnerships. If your Progressed Moon is in a Fire or Air sign then you are likely to want to expand your horizons through your relationships, seeking adventure and inspiration. If your Progressed Moon is in an Earth or Water sign then you are more likely to be seeking comfort and emotional satisfaction through your interactions.
Mercury in 10th house
Mercury is in your 10th house. As ruler of the intellectual signs of Gemini and Virgo, Mercurial occupations involve both the gathering and the analysing of information. The Mercurial archetype inclines towards professions that involve data, ideas and information technology, such as the information industry which now involves computers and the Internet. Statistical analysis, statisticians, scientists, accounting and economic analysis and librarians are also Mercurial occupations that involve research and processing of data.
Mercury was the messenger of the Gods and its astrological function is to deliver the message and to communicate. Therefore there is a host of Mercurial professions that include lecturers, teachers, writers, interpreters, journalists, radio announcers, editors, postal workers, the computer and information industry, the media and news reporting, advertising which might be of interest when contemplating career. Mercury is also the patron of travellers, their guide, and astrologically rules 'short trips' in astrology; therefore occupations involving the travel industry, drivers, couriers, tour guides and organizers, interpreters, flight attendants, cab drivers are consistent with this placement. Mythological Mercury was also the god of commerce and vocations involving trade, negotiation, contracts, verbal skills, argument and persuasion are akin to his nature. You might consider the field of commerce, commodity trading, or the stock exchange. These might also be an appropriate sector to help consume some of your abundant nervous energy.
The analytical side of Mercury also combines with the urge towards health in professions such as clinical psychologists, psychiatry and psychiatric nursing, dieticians, health care workers and medical analysis. The Virgo side of Mercury is also important in all industries that provide services to their clients. With this archetype atop your horoscope it is important that you have flexibility and continuous change in your vocation. Without adequate movement or variety in your career you may become anxious, stressed or scattered. However, with the influence of youthful Mercury you are destined for many interesting assignments and positions in your chosen career. You have the knack of being able to reinvent yourself and see things afresh.
Venus in 8th House
Relationships deepen as the planet of love moves slowly through the 8th House of your Birth Chart. This can be an enriching time when your most intimate bonds strengthen and become more sacred. Occasionally this can indicate a time in which you need to cut ties with someone who is a negative influence. You may go through a dark and wintry period, but you can be assured that this period is one of change. Just as the Earth's seasons change from Winter to Spring, so too will your intimate relationships. If this is a time of death, then it will also be a time of birth and re-emergence. The planet Venus also influences money, and so this is a time for sowing and ultimately reaping benefits from investments.
Mars in 9th House
Your spirit of adventure is likely to increase as the energetic planet Mars progresses into the expansive 9th House. During this period you are likely to seek activities that broaden your mind and open up new fields of possibilities. You may embark on a journey into new territory, learning much from your adventures. On the other hand you may begin an emotional or intellectual journey closer to home, exploring the expansive of the heart and mind. This is your time to focus on anything and anyone who lifts your spirit.
Jupiter in 8th House
+Jupiter Square Pluto This combination of planets can indicate that you are a risk taker, and perhaps even an adventurer. You can enjoy wealth but you are also likely to invest your earnings in ventures that are risky and hence experience rises and falls in your fortunes. You may enjoy spending your earnings on travel. The question to ask yourself is, what makes me feel rich? The answer may well include travel, new ventures, pioneering activities and life enriching experiences. You may believe that life is for the living, that it’s for grabbing onto and living on the wild side. Life is not about sitting safely in the harbor, but about casting off the bowlines and heading into the unknown. Therefore you may not mind a few financial ups and downs. You console yourself and help yourself feel rich by counting all the great things you have that money can’t buy. However, if you do have clear financial goals then you need to ensure that you trust others, listen to your own wisdom and avoid foolhardy ventures. You also need to avoid grandiose schemes unless you have really done your homework. Foreign investments need to be thoroughly checked, contracts need to be taken to a trustworthy lawyer and partnerships need to be entered into with caution. The good news is that no matter how many mistakes you make, you are still way ahead of everyone who isn’t trying. Remember that sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.
Saturn in 12th House
The planet Saturn progresses slowly through the Zodiac and therefore its influence is subtle. Saturn is a wonderful planet when you do your homework. However, if you try to escape your responsibilities then you are likely to suffer the consequences. So wherever this planet progresses you need to listen to your conscience and obey, rather than try to cut corners. In your case Saturn is progressing now through the 12th House of your Birth Chart and you are likely to experience a less confident time than usual. Isolation may be part of your life now. This can be for positive reasons if you choose to work on a project that demands your total attention or to parent young children at home. However, you are not your usual confident self and you need to find alternative resources. You are required to dig deep and discover inner strengths that you did not know existed.
Uranus in 9th House
The planet Uranus is in the 9th House of your birth chart suggesting that you're independent and headstrong with a fascination for foreign countries, philosophy or unusual academic topics. There's a side to you that really wants to break out and adventure into unknown territory. As a result you're likely to make sudden decisions to travel to overseas countries, perhaps enjoying unusual destinations. You may even unexpectedly decide to live in a foreign country. You need to be careful not to become to be reckless, because you could experience upsets on your journey, or inadvertently put yourself in a dangerous situation. It's possible that a form of religion features strongly in your life, although it's unlikely to be an orthodox religion. You're more likely to rebel against orthodox religion, experiencing it as too restrictive to personal freedom. You may prefer an alternative or liberal religious philosophy. You may even be interested in occult science or astrology, and possess prophetic abilities.
Neptune in 12th House
The planet Neptune placed in the 12th House of your chart means that you often feel overwhelmed by the realities of the modern-day world, and yearn for seclusion. These feelings hamper your creative projects, and spiritual process in life. You may spend much of your time day-dreaming or fantasising about possibilities, rather than acting. If you immerse yourself in these fantasies then you're likely to be escaping from reality, which doesn't help you live your true potential. However, you're likely to benefit from moments of seclusion which enable you to reflect before taking action. You're a compassionate person, with a talent for caring for other people. You may enjoy investigating your psychic abilities, or working behind the scenes.
Pluto in 10th house
In your 10th house you have the planet Pluto, whose realm is the underworld, the mythological sphere where treasures and riches were buried. Pluto’s name means riches and wherever Pluto is in the horoscope you will be empowered to find the buried treasure. However, this place is also the ‘door to Dis’; Dis, being the Roman name for the underworld god. Therefore this is where you may locate the subterranean feelings which have been unexpressed in your family, suggesting that your vocational path may be littered with the shades, ghosts and secrets of your familial past. Yet it also suggests that you are uncovering valuables and riches not experienced before in your family.
Pluto is associated with loss, unexpressed grief, traumatic and shameful feelings, secrets as well as a host of unacceptable feelings such as anger, rage, resentment, jealousy, envy etc. In a vocational sense, Pluto often deals with vocations which dig deep down, either into the literal ground, or into the psychic ground of an individual to locate the truth and encourage the release of the repressed. Hence psychotherapy, oncology and bereavement counselling are all vocational descriptions which are worth considering. Pluto rules research and investigative vocations such as depth psychology, doctors, loss and grief practitioners, bereavement counsellors, work in the mines, subways or underground, plumbing, medical researchers, investigative reporting, police and governmental undercover agencies, detectives, archaeologists. All these vocations would be consistent with this image in your horoscope.
Pluto is also the realm of the dead and in a vocational sense you might be involved with this literal realm or careers where the cycle of destruction and renewal is prevalent. Burials, undertaking professions, coroners, mortuary work, wills and legal vocations concerning inheritances, the dead and the rights of the dead, insurance agents, demolition and renovation work would be consistent with this image. The power of Pluto to influence the masses and transform public opinion is reflected in careers like marketing researchers, media and vocations of influence, politics, police work, big business and government.
One of the main dilemmas with this placement is that your solitude and need to be alone is placed in the path of your career. This might suggest you have ambivalence about being public or known; however, it also reinforces the need to find your privacy and solitude in your working life. With Pluto on your Midheaven your destiny will involve you with people in powerful positions, influential businesses and transforming occupations. It is important for you to recognise that you make an impact on your world even if you are unaware of it.
;PLANETS ON MC/IC
NorthNode in 4th House
Your North Node is in the 4th house with the South Node being in the polarity of the 10th house. In your horoscope this is the axis that brings the private world and public life into focus. As an astrological opposition this alliance contrasts the inner and outer worlds and forces you into finding a meaningful balance between the two throughout the course of your life. Your natural tendency might find it easier to be in the world, be public and involved with your career path; however this astrological statement highlights the importance of the inner and private world. Hence a career theme might be the ongoing encounter between the stress of the outer world and finding enough time and space to engage with the demands of the inner world. In real terms this might be the tug of war between the career and the family, outer achievements and inner peace or the feeling of being successful versus the feeling of being settled.
Destiny points to the need to consciously create a strong and secure base before launching yourself professionally. It is important to recognise where your foundations stones are, as you will need a strong rock to build your career upon. Interestingly the effort placed in stabilising yourself, delving into your feelings and maintaining a supportive family life will promote your vocation. Ironically your outer world opens its arms to you as make the effort to develop your inner nature. Literally this might also suggest being successful at a career involving family, such as a family business, working from home or the promotion of familial products or values. Another variation on this theme might be real estate, home wares, or even a nurturing profession. However fate weaves her pattern the two threads of career and family are in the forefront of the fabric. In your case it is important to understand that innately you have a successful relationship with the world and what it has to offer when you are able to concentrate on building your nest and family life.
Chiron in 3rd House
You have Chiron in the 3rd House; while Chiron is not classified as a planet, its archetypal imagery is an insightful addition to our planetary pantheon. Chiron, like the three older Olympian brothers, Hades, Poseidon and Zeus, was a son of Chronus, therefore was their half-brother and part of the Olympian family. However, Chiron was not awarded the same status as his half-siblings, an especially interesting theme for Chiron in the 3rd House, as this archetypal imprint might suggest a sibling who is not from the system or not granted the same status as the other siblings. As a sibling image Chiron, represents the adopted sibling, the step-sibling, or the sibling not wholly part of the sibling system. In essence it is a feeling of being displaced or not fitting in.
Chiron in the 3rd House points to a potential wounding that has occurred with or through your siblings or early relationships. Another possibility is that a sibling might be wounded, handicapped, physically or mentally challenged, even adopted or relinquished. Chiron represents a wound that is inflicted unintentionally; with Chiron in the third, this wound may have been inflicted by your sibling/s or surrogate sibs. This generally is not physical, although it may be; it is usually experienced through name calling or other forms of verbal abuse or wounding. The deeper meaning of the 3rd House, I feel, has to do with the power of the word. With Chiron in the third, the poisonous arrows that are the wounding agent could be the sibling’s verbal abuse. A child being branded stupid, ugly or illegitimate by his siblings can receive a lifelong wound. Chiron in the third is also highly sensitive to the feeling effect that flows beneath what is said; so the wound can also be inflicted by the dishonesty and trickery of the sibling.
The wound could also be that you feel exiled from your siblings, completely separate and not a part of the same system they belong to. I have often witnessed that this placement might reveals loss in the family, and the individual with Chiron in the third is the one who is prone to carrying the unresolved grief from this loss. Chiron in the third seems to be a dominant placement for those who have a handicapped sib. While this might not apply in your case, you are drawn to helping others and it is in your early childhood environs where you might have had the inspiration to become a carer or healer. However ambivalence often accompanies this aspect, as you love your sibling or the one who is being taken care of, but you also feel that you missed out on some things due to the enormous attention focused on the other. Both the wound and the impulse to cure and help is opened in your early relationships with others who may not be as blessed.
Early patterns from your sibling system may be re-enacted later in adult relationships by drawing the wounded other into our orbit, bringing the primal polarity of wounding and healing to surface in relationships. Or this may manifest at your feeling marginal or outside the relationship or social circle of friends. Unexpectedly, your partners and friends may once again draw the sibling wound to the surface. Therefore it might be of value to reflect on how this influences your relationships. Your kindred spirits come from a very different world than the one you have known and encourage you to think outside the square and live outside the system.
Nodes
NorthNode in Aquarius
You have the North Node in Aquarius and the South Node in Leo, indicating that you have a well-developed sense of self. Underlying your personality is self-assurance that you are loved, but in order to deeply know this to be true your vocation will lead you into the community. Your invitation is to join the human race and develop your humanitarianism. You might beat a loud drum but now it needs to be in the context of a collective parade. Become a friend to others and you will find that you shine brighter than ever. Stepping away from your own creative pursuits into the community actually provides the best venue possible for your talents and creativity. You are an original, a classic as they say. But your ample charisma and abundant charm must be aligned with community concerns before you can feel purposeful and appreciated. Ironically you become the star of the show when you are the producer focusing on the needs of the group. You find your heart's desire through the lighting of the communal fires and not solely your own. Behind the scenes is where you are the star of the show
Humanitarian ideals are an important aspect of any vocation. However your vocational ideals may lead you into an involvement in humanitarian pursuits or organisations and companies, sympathetic to humanitarian, ecological or animal concerns. While individualism is of high importance in your vocation you also need tribal and social interaction, intellectual stimulation and personal interchange in your work. You need to express its individuality in the work sector and feel unique and independent in what they do. Therefore it is the vocations that are different, even marginal that you may be drawn to. You are not afraid of being on the fringe when you tap into that confidence that you have inherited. If your working atmosphere is too rigid, authoritative or emotionally demanding then you will rebel either through shock tactics, acting out or simply leaving. You need to feel unrestrained in your occupation and work best in a democratic structure than a hierarchical one
You need social involvement to feel successful, but this does not necessarily mean you need to attach, in fact you probably are happier at work when you are non-attached. Therefore in a work environment you appreciate the social interaction but do not necessarily develop deeper emotional bonds. The more space you have on your vocational path, the more effectible you become. Without space in your working lives you might feel frantic and suffocated. When you draw on your reserves of self-confidence and conviction in your talents you are able to create an open ticket in your vocational pursuits.
Aspects
Sun Soft Jupiter
The Sun is making a favourable contact with the positive planet Jupiter in your chart meaning that you're blessed with good fortune and a happy nature. You've the ability to land on your feet no matter how difficult a situation. This is partly because you're destined to be in the right place at the right time throughout your life. It's possible that a father or grandfather figure has given you a helping hand in life, teaching you to have confidence in your own abilities. Your success is also due to the fact that your positive attitude to life attracts good fortune. Your optimism and enthusiasm are infectious. You're popular and generous, and tend to shine in the company of other people. You like to embrace life and all it has to offer. As a result your life tends to read like an adventure story, possibly including travels around the globe. You're not necessarily attracted to rugged adventure, preferring to travel in style. It would be unusual for you to go without comforts. Even a camping trip may involve the latest equipment guaranteed to ensure comfort. You also get plenty of chances to expand your mind, whether this be through the experiences of your lifetime or through study in an academic institution. You're likely to shine in your studies, eventually making an inspirational teacher if you choose this path. You may be surprised by the number of people who have been impressed by your attitude, to the extent that they have felt inspired to change their own lives. You're likely to achieve your goals whatever path is followed, and perhaps to help others achieve theirs.
Mercury Hard Moon
You need to take care in your communications and education because of the unfavourable combination of the Moon and the Planet Mercury. You've a sharp mind and a quick wit, but unfortunately you've a tendency to gossip and be sarcastic rather than put your skills to good use. In some cases this combination can also highlight a tendency to dishonesty and worry. Of course you're worried, because you can only judge other people by your own standards and these may not be very high! Of course much of this depends on other influences in your birth chart. On a positive note you can turn your mind to your studies and to improving your communication skills.
Mercury Conjunct Midheaven
As messenger of the gods, Mercury's astrological function is to deliver the communiqué. As Mercury is at the highest peak of chart this is even more apparent in your vocation. You are a born communicator, helpmate and guide and from an early age you have been curious enough to explore a range of paths and career opportunities. You are not limited to one as you bring your multidimensional interests to any role you play in the world. Whatever career you choose, mobile Mercury challenges you to express your ideas through one of his many channels of communication and information.
Venus Hard Mars
The planets Venus and Mars are combining unfavourably in your chart indicating that you struggle to balance your own needs and the needs of your partners in relationships. You see-saw between wanting closeness and freedom. On the one hand you seek adventure on your own, on the other you want to be close to your partner. The ideal is a balance between the two. You're charming and assertive, passionate and alive, and admire these qualities in a potential intimate partner. You love to share your adventures with your partner, and it's likely that your relationship will inspire both your and your partner to explore new territory. However, you may become impatient with your partner, or aggressive and irritable when he or she fails to keep up with your activities. You can be equally impatient with yourself, but this isn't necessarily any comfort to your partner.
Venus Hard Pluto
The planets Venus and Pluto are combining unfavourably in your chart suggesting that drama plays a key role in your personal relationships. You're fiercely loyal and committed, and expect as much from your partner. You like to feel that there is an unbreakable emotional bond between you and your primary partner. Problems arise when you don't feel this bond with your partner, either because your partner is consumed with another interest, or if a third person appears to be lurking on the scene. At times like these you struggle to keep things in perspective. You're a jealous person, and quite capable of seeking revenge when wronged. You need to be wary of this darker side of your nature, seeking help when appropriate. You need also to be careful to choose the right person as your primary partner - someone who reciprocates your love and passion. Otherwise you can waste a lot of time and energy trying to make a doomed relationship work. You may also benefit from directing some of your energy into an all-consuming project, such as fighting for human rights or an intensely creative pursuit.
Mars Hard Saturn
Conflict is likely to be a key feature of your life because of the influence of the planets Saturn and Mars in your chart. When these combine in an unfavourable manner it leads to troubles and discord. You're probably well aware of the difficulties that you face in some areas of your life, finding it difficult to motivate yourself to overcome them. Other people and circumstances seem to stand in the path of your success, which is frustrating. In some cases you could be frustrated by a physical illness, which prevents you working towards your ambitions. It's true that you shouldn't neglect your physical health, because you could be prone to illness and harm through accidents. You may find that resentment and thoughts of revenge are ways in which you motivate yourself into action. Of course you would do well to avoid acting on these feelings, otherwise you could end up in violent disputes or in trouble with the law. This influence in your chart can indicate achieving notoriety, which is very different from achieving success. It's possible that you've difficulty remembering a time when life didn't have its problems. Perhaps you had a tough life as a child either through difficult family circumstances or because of a strict and harsh parent figure. Of course much of this scenario depends on other influences in your chart. On a more positive note you're confident and ambitious, capable of driving yourself and others to achieve your objectives. You can be motivated by the thought of achievement, and are likely to succeed through hard work and self-discipline. In fact you're determined to succeed in certain areas of your life. Your will power can be indomitable, particularly when you've determined on a course of action.
Mars Hard Neptune
At times you've difficulty getting motivated, lacking the energy to fulfil the many task in your life. This is because of the difficult combination of the planets Mars and Neptune. It's not that you lack in creative ideas, but rather that you sense that you don't have the energy to carry them out. It's possible that you're prone to allergies and physical illness, but one of the keys to success is taking time out to experience quiet and reflective moments. You need to "slow down and smell the roses" on a regular basis. This could be spending time in nature, listening to inspirational music, swimming in the ocean or sitting in a quiet house of prayer; any activity which provides emotional and physical rest and soothes the soul. If you don't schedule in quiet time then you're likely to suffer from lethargy and despondency, and possibly even physical illness. You've the ability to develop great creative power but you need to avoid drugs and alcohol. It's also possible that you have either a strong artistic or spiritual side to your nature, which could be used for self-motivation. Your hobbies or career may reflect your spiritual or artistic gifts. Your spirituality could be either orthodox or liberal. The artistic side of your nature may benefit from activities such as art, theatre, dance, music, design, film and craft work.
Mars Soft Jupiter
Your friends have difficulty keeping up with you because the planets Mars and Jupiter are combining to give a boundless source of energy. On the whole you're a lively and resourceful person, who delights in good health and keeping busy. Any course of action is entered into with confidence and determination to succeed, which you're likely to do. You're always ready to help those who will help themselves, but you've no qualms about leaving behind those who are determined to rest on their laurels. You certainly know how to get yourself and other people motivated, and can make a good leader or manager. In fact you're quite ambitious, not afraid of tackling big projects. Others may think that you've taken on more than you can handle, but you usually prove them wrong. You're generous, self confident and lucky, with a tendency to go where angels fear to tread. You're also courageous, approaching life with gusto regardless of the consequences. You may be particularly keen to travel, enjoying the stimulation of visiting other venues. You could direct your energy to achievement in sports, politics or travel. Your only problem will be suffering from "burn-out" because you don't know when to stop and rest.
Mars Square Neptune
Imagination, intuition and relaxation are all key words that can be applied to your life right now. It is not a time to take on extra responsibilities. Instead you should take some time out and take a vacation by the ocean or in the middle of the countryside. If you cannot get away from your responsibilities at work then perhaps an evening art or meditation class would be more feasible. You need to spend more time in spiritual, artistic and philanthropic pursuits. As a result your imagination and creativity can blossom. If you do not slow down then you may feel lethargic or lack motivation and wonder why. Listen to your intuition and dare to dream.
Saturn Hard Uranus
When you're not rebelling against authority, or anyone who tries to curb your individual rights, then you're able to succeed in achieving your ambitions. However, the combination of the planets Saturn and Uranus indicate that you're likely to sabotage your own success through wilful behaviour. You need to overcome your wayward tendencies, and learn to compromise, otherwise your career suffers. On a positive note you're independent, resourceful and self-motivated, all of which enable you to eventually achieve success in whatever you turn your mind to. You may discover that you've natural abilities in the fields of science, mathematics, business organisation, industry and metaphysics. It's likely that you'll succeed in any career that utilises your gift for blending the old with the new.
Saturn conjunct Neptune
With Saturn Conjunct Neptune, you experience a profound interaction between Kafziel and Tamiel. Kafziel is the Angel of memory, solitude, and tears. Together these Angels put you on the path of personal integrity as surely as you follow one thought with another.
Your slow growth of understanding could be seen as a weakness. However, your path is one of steady, almost certain forward progress. You analyze and consider each decision and each new idea. In this way every step is firm and solid, not tentative or half-hearted.
Intelligent activity becomes part of your nature. Intelligent activity involves the skillful use and application of knowledge, so you must first gain knowledge before you can apply it effectively. Kafziel and Tamiel work in concert in your life by first supplying the means to learn, and then aiding your mind through dreams or visualizations of how to use the information you have gained.
As you allow your Angels into your life, you gain the capacity to maintain hope in the face of seeming disaster. You discover that even in the most difficult circumstances, you have Angelic protection, and you can find a way to work your way out of the problem.
These Angels help you learn how to manage pain. When you or someone else experience severe physical or emotional pain, your Angels provide the means for relieving its severity, as well as providing the path to resolving it altogether.
Zadkiel and Tamiel provide dreams to help you through life's difficulties. You have tenacity of spirit, and your Angels support its use. Sometimes you will have a conscious idea, and you work step by step to make that dream a reality. Other times dreams provide very direct messages about your life. Either way, your mental strength is a special ally throughout your life.
Saturn Soft Pluto
The combination of the planets Saturn and Pluto in your chart suggests that you're an ambitious, insightful and powerful person. You're likely to make a powerful impact on your friends, family, colleagues and loved ones, both as a child and an adult. At times you might be surprised by the extent of other people's reactions to your presence and opinions. You may even surprise yourself by your own reactions to some circumstances. Authority is likely to be a continuing source of difficulty in your life, as you attempt to find the right balance between your own individual rights, and those of the community. Of course there are many instances when these two rights coincide, but you're more likely to find yourself involved in the clashes, perhaps as a mediator. It's possible that you could become involved in someone's power struggles, in which your role may or may not be central to the outcome. It's true that you've the ability to be a powerful leader, perhaps in the government or armed forces, or as an executive or politician. You can be a powerful leader, but first you must learn to use your unique insights for positive purposes. The 19th Century author John Stuart Mill said in his work On Liberty (1859) that: "Everyone who desires power, desires it most over those who are nearest to him, with whom his life is passed, with whom he has most concerns in common, and in whom any independence of his authority is oftenest likely to interfere with his individual preferences". Herein lies a key to your chart. You've the ability to succeed in your ambitions, but first you must learn how to deal with the balance of power in your life, respecting both your own and other people's rights to succeed.
Saturn Hard Mars
An unfavourable combination of the planets Saturn and Mars can indicate difficulties in your profession, particularly in partnerships or companies. You need to be careful to avoid litigation, which you're like to lose. Of course this depends largely on other influences in your chart. Nevertheless you need to act with the utmost integrity within your career to ensure success rather than scandal.
Uranus Hard Neptune
The planets Uranus and Neptune are combining in your chart suggesting that you're concerned about spiritual matters and try hard to bring about social change. You've an ideal of how the world could be, and yet have difficulty living up to your own standards. Perhaps you're being too idealistic, or perhaps you lack the discipline needed to fully explore your creative talents. Either way you need to develop a more realistic approach to creative matters. This way you'll be able to enjoy explore your talents, which may lie in writing, healing, social welfare, healing or spiritual fields. You're keen to explore metaphysical matters, perhaps even belonging to a secret society or a group dedicated to global healing, charity or spirituality. Your psychic abilities and intuition are likely to be heightened, and this may help you explore your creativity.
Uranus square Neptune
With Uranus Square Neptune, you experience a dynamic, challenging interaction between Zadkiel and Tamiel. Zadkiel is the Angel of Death, and Tamiel of Dreams. Together they extend your understanding of the nature of life and its limits. They also reveal the many ways you can change your life through skillful action.
You have a natural love of ritual. You find, when you think about it, that ritual pervades everything you do. You get along with other people very well because you observe the steps of ritual, entering into each conversation, activity, or association according to socially or culturally defined rules, and in so doing you put other people at ease without undo fuss or bother.
You can develop subconscious talents through conscious expression. In concert with your Angels, you express little pieces of your subconscious awareness in conversation or action. As you do this, you affirm your less conscious abilities and honor them and your Angels. Then your mind is better able to provide ideas and understand feelings in order to aid your work.
Inspired idealism may not be what you think you have been looking for, but you are certain to find it eventually. Your Angels send you dreams and ideas all the time, and you have only to pay attention to them. Your idealism provides a foundation for you to help others who experience major disasters or transformations in their lives. When you or others experience loss, your Angels are ready and willing to lift you up.
A potential weakness is the lack of stamina. Physical exercise to build lung capacity and muscle strength is well worth the effort. The physical strength you gain provides a foundation for emotional and spiritual strength.
For mental strength, meditation or yoga provide an organized practice. Kundalini yoga provides a medium for mental focus as well as physical exercise, building all the structures you need to support your developing psychic awareness.
Another possible weakness of structure could lead to high blood pressure and its associated ailments. The above mentioned exercise, meditation, and yoga all serve to reduce blood pressure and strengthen the system so as to avoid dangers of stroke and heart ailments.
Heightened psychic states including clairvoyance are the norm for this combination.
Neptune Conjunct Ascendant
With Neptune rising in your horoscope you probably have been described as wearing rose-coloured glasses. No doubt you are idealistic and imaginative. Sometimes this is a defence against reality but for the most part your optimism and romanticism is an essential and genuine part of who you are. To be true to who you are, you need to express your creative and sensitive personality. This also suggests you may wander about in some confusion before you find the right path to take in life. But what is for sure is that this path needs to provide enough spiritual sustenance and meaningful work, as well as an outlet for your imagination and intuitive faculties, in order for you to feel fulfilled.
Neptune Soft Pluto
The planets Neptune and Pluto both move slowly through the zodiac, and therefore any connection between the two planets affects birth charts for a short period of time. You were born in such a time. This combination in your chart means that you're interested in opportunities to bring about fundamental change to human values. You are aware of injustices in society and, depending on other influences in your chart, may prefer to fight against them rather than sit back and accept the ills of society. Your creative urges may be linked to politics, or expressing your political views through the arts or spiritual or charitable organisations.
Pluto sextile Neptune
With Pluto Sextile Neptune, your life is enriched with opportunities presented by the Angels Metatron and Tamiel. Metatron has been called the King of Angels and the Chief of the Ministering Angels. This Angel is thought to be the pillar of fire the Jews followed in their exodus from Egypt. He is a certain link between you and the divine. Metatron's association with Tamiel, the Angel of Primordial Energies, is extremely powerful.
You undoubtedly experience supernatural events and conditions during your life. Your Angels provide this resource and can help you refine it. Psychic impressions and intuition become second nature to you after a while. You learn to act on intuition in much the same way you would act on advice from your accountant.
One facet of the path of personal integrity for you involves purification of your soul. This means elevating your thoughts above petty jealousy and anger. While you may never overcome negative thinking entirely, working with your Angels will lift you up, step by step, to thoughts of compassion and love. Love overcomes fear and compassion overcomes hatred.
One possible expression of this aspect of your birth chart is that you have at least one extrasensory ability. At first you may experience some confusion in interpreting psychic and intuitive information as it comes to you. You are likely to overcome this confusion once you develop the necessary comprehension of your abilities and thus develop your psychic skills. Meditation each day allows your Angels to contact you more directly to help in this area.
You have the power of a storyteller combined with the wisdom of a seer. You could write fiction or dramatic scripts, and your poetry can become the liquid fire of inspiration and soothing balm for the soul.
NorthNode Soft Venus
The North Node and the planet Venus are combining in your chart suggesting that your destiny is linked with the need to develop harmonious and balanced relationships. Relationships play an important role in your accomplishments. You are joyous when you're part of a team, working in collaboration with other people to achieve your objectives.
Chiron opposition Sun
There is usually a deep wound here when it comes to fairness and/or equality, to the point that you felt the need to prove you are ‘as good as’ others. It may be that you always had to defend yourself in one way or another, or it may be that you were made to feel that you had to ‘win’ at all costs.
One major lesson you can learn from this aspect is when to compete, when not to! learn how to choose your battles.
This aspect can make you a real fighter, which can be for good or bad. If you see something that you feel needs change, or an obstacle that needs to be overcome, you won’t rest until you’ve ‘won’. This may be a physical fight, but this doesn’t necessarily make you a physical fighter (other aspects in the chart would show that). What this aspect does do is make you appear always ready to take up a banner, always ready to take up a cause.
As you grow, and heal from the wound, any particular cause you are drawn to will be for the betterment of life, or to help others in some way. But if you resist healing, there can develop the feeling you need to fight even for small things, or there can develop a paranoia giving you an ‘us versus them’ attitude. Even as you evolve and grow, the urge to ‘do battle’ is never dissipated, but as I said, you learn to choose your battles. With this aspect, though, you never feel more alive than when you respond to a challenge in some way, or offer a challenge to someone else.
One thing that cannot, unfortunately, be avoided with this aspect is the making of enemies. It goes with the territory. But as you grow, and heal, you will find that even your enemies will respect you.
It is impossible to have this aspect without developing strong principles, and of course, to feel the need to stand up and fight for them as well. You will not sacrifice your principles to appease others.
But other people are important to you, not just for competition. You understand yourself so much better when you have feedback from others, and are always looking for another perspective, another viewpoint.
Chiron square Neptune
The wound from this aspect stems from not being able to pay attention to your dreams. The environment you grew up in forced you to repress, or discount your dreams, or place them on the back burner. Perhaps you were even laughed at for your wild imagination.
To heal this wound, you need to allow yourself to believe in your dreams again, to get in touch with your imagination. The wound may have gone so deep that it gave you a fear of the unknown, fear of what you cannot see, hear, taste, smell or touch. You must find a way to give yourself permission to open up to what lies beyond the senses, what lies outside the realm of apparent reality. Otherwise, you may find yourself with a tendency to go overboard into the real world then to submerge yourself into material things, in order not to have to deal with the unknown.
Healing from this wound, the most common expression is the tendency to have some dream that is totally you, some image of the ideal self that is the way you want to be and then to believe totally that you can be this. The magic of believing in yourself.
This aspect does not denote success or failure at achieving this dream, only the very strong belief that this is what you could be. There is also, if the aspect is strongly emphasized, a desire to overcome any obstacle that interferes with your understanding of life or of the universe. Even if you have not begun to heal from the wound, there is a curiosity deep within that never completely is broken. You crave understanding, hunger to know what the meaning of life is; the more you heal, the more you allow yourself to explore, to search for truth, and to imagine possible worlds, possible alternate futures.
Chiron opposition Uranus
Between 1952 and 1989 Chiron exactly opposed Uranus forty-one times, and was in orb of opposition for just about everyone born during those 47 years. Thus, it is more of a generational influence than an individual one.
Historically, you can see that this aspect is tied into the accelerated pace of scientific advancement during the second half of the Twentieth Century. Actually, one of the problems is that science is making discoveries faster than they can be integrated into society; even faster than proper safeguards can be devised for our protection from side effects and from the discoveries themselves.
This same ‘vibration’ is, in many ways, a part of the nature of individuals who have this aspect. There is a thirst for the new, for discovery, for experiences, that often outweighs the taking of any precautions. Others dare not try to curtail your freedom, the consequences may not be pleasant. The urge for independence can be so strong that it can create difficulties in relationships. The only relationships that truly last for someone with this aspect is one where each person is given a lot of space to be themselves, in truth, it is difficult to find someone sufficiently secure to give a partner that much freedom. It does give a real spirit, though.
The wound of the whole generation, though, can be summed up in the words, ‘fallen heroes’. For thousands of years, people had heroes to worship, people to look up to as almost godlike. But this generation has seen all of its heroes fall, or show very unheroic sides, or in one way or another, prove they are just like everyone else. As a result, your generation has had a wound that each person must learn to heal in his/her own way, but the lesson is to become one’s own hero to become the person you would like to look up to and respect.
Chiron Square Ascendant
This point progresses very slowly throughout your lifetime. Therefore you are likely to have this aspect in your birth chart. This progression may emphasise your healing abilities. You are on a quest to learn the many aspects of healing - physical, emotional and spiritual. The quotation from the Bible's New Testament Luke iv. 23. - "Physician heal thyself" - may hold special meaning. You may also need to learn when to give others the freedom to heal themselves and when to offer a helping hand.
Chiron square Saturn
It is a rare person with this aspect who did not as a child have a great deal of difficulty with parents. Since this aspect seems to stay within orb for many years, it seems to represent more people, whole generations, rather than single individuals. Thus, a great many people came from homes where there was difficulty dealing with authority. This aspect expresses itself as a tendency to get set into some routine, or some effort to build a structure that is impervious to change. You have a clear-cut idea of reality, and while you might not like it, it is secure. But then Chiron comes along and throws you totally off your feet. You may easily feel that you have been zapped! The world picture is suddenly different from what you had thought it was, and reality must be drastically redefined. At this point, you have two options:
1. Allow fear to take over, withdraw, not knowing who or what to trust. You know that what you had counted on no longer works, but you fear looking for something that will work. The best thing you could do at this point would be to seek guidance, but it is a scary thing to do, and some people allow themselves to be almost crushed before seeking help.
2. This is the more positive expression. You recognize that it is up to you to put the pieces together to form a more coherent personal definition of reality. You pull yourself together, sometimes seeking assistance from a counsellor, psychologist or guru, and attempt to construct a more workable life system with a structure that will withstand whatever comes. At this point crucial decisions are made. You may go so far as to establish a new, tight, secure foundation for yourself, and then hide behind it. If this path is chosen, you will find that you must eventually go through the catastrophe all over again as you discover that the new reality is faulty, too. or, you may go to the extreme of disregarding conventions, structures, and any definition of reality altogether. You may become totally anti-authority. If you choose this route, you will also, one day, reach a critical point where everything collapses around you, only for you, it may eventually be the coming of a very heavy Saturn event (imprisonment, poverty, ostracism) causing a great loss of personal freedom. What this aspect is trying to teach you is a major lesson, but if you do not learn from such experience, the cycle can repeat.
The most positive path, however, is the acceptance of any definition of reality as temporary, and any structure as useful, but only as a means to an end. By learning to accept change, accepting authority as necessary to a particular situation (but not as all-powerful), accept that those in power are also human, you reach a great equilibrium. You can use Saturn when needed, and go beyond it when necessary. In fact, you can create your own structures to fit the occasion, and discard them when they’re no longer needed. One of the people with this aspect, Robin Williams, said it best as the title of his album, ‘Reality is a Crutch’.
Chiron opposition Mars
With Chiron opposition Mars, you have a deep wound that makes you feel the need to fight. How it manifests, what battles you choose depends first of all on how much you have been able to heal. For the need to fight was brought on very young, perhaps because you felt unjustly accused of something, perhaps because it was the only way to get what you felt was rightfully yours, perhaps because you felt attacked. In any case, there are some very deep wounds here, and a lot of pain and pent up anger (or even rage).
Whatever the cause, the Houses that these two bodies fall into on your chart will show where some of your greatest battles come from in life. The sign Mars falls in will describe your fighting style, while the sign Chiron is in will describe the type of situations that make you feel like fighting. One way you can tell that you are experiencing pent up anger from the old wound is if someone ‘touches your buttons’, and the anger you feel seems way out of proportion to what the situation should warrant. You need to work on this anger, find ways to release it (sports, for example, or chopping wood, or other physical activity, or therapy), as difficult as it may seem, learn to forgive those who hurt you. You don’t have to forget to heal, but you must find a way to forgive.
As you heal from your wounds, you feel motivated to go all out to fight for those less fortunate, or for those oppressed. But until you have begun the healing path, this fighter instinct may simply manifest as a strong feeling that you can improve your life by fighting. Some situations warrant fighting, of course, but healing for you is also learning how to choose your battles, and choose when not to fight.
There are major lessons to be learned here about your masculine side (whether you are male or female, you have both an anima and an animus), which hopefully, you have learned a good bit of early in life. If not, there may develop an overpowering need to assert the self, to the point that the overcompensation distorts your lifestyle.
One of the major lessons that you must learn is to be adaptable, to try new methods when they come along to experiment. Somehow, you were deeply wounded in a way that made you feel you needed to stick to a particular method of doing things, or at the very least, there is a fear of going in to uncharted waters.
So the lesson is that there are definitely times to go off in new directions, and when you learn this, the healing has begun. Some learn it early in life while others apparently never learn it.
Until the lesson is learned, the following is a common sequence of events: you find some method that works, some plan of action, but then tend to use it continually, getting into a rut (habit). After this goes on for a while, Chiron comes along and throws a wrench into the process, the success formula doesn’t work anymore, or it produces negative results. When this occurs, you may fall down, and fall hard! Even when you don’t actually fall, you are definitely thrown off-balance, and must reorient yourself. At this point in time, depending on how you have evolved past the wound, you will usually choose one of three alternatives.
1. Make an adjustment, and then go back to some routine method of doing things. If this approach is chosen you will once again have to go through the same process in the future, and again each time you refuse to learn. Eventually, this repeated stress can have an influence on the health, producing stress-related ills.
2. Learn part of the lesson. If this is the case, you learn the virtues of trying new methods, new ways of doing things, but not the ‘why’ of the lesson. You might begin to revel in each new method. You may seek out and try to experience every new act that can be found, every new experience and sensation that exists, perhaps even inventing brand new ones. If you continue along this course you will still be confronted with Chiron throwing a wrench into the act, but you will see it as just one more new experience, or as a temporary setback. Continued long enough, there is a danger of going to excess with destructive results.
3. You rise above your past wound, and learn to be adaptable. You learn to try new things, and learn to discriminate, so that you also know when the old methods are still valid. You use new ways of doing things when the time is right. You thus build up a broad repertoire of methods and experiences to draw upon, and will be seen by others as extremely resourceful and multi-talented. Should you turn this great personal energy towards helping others, you will find a knack for coming up with the right solution for each individual problem, and often have uncanny insight into what makes people tick. You welcome each new experience, seeing it as a means, not an end.
