Your Sun Sign

Sun in Aries

Aries represents the stamina to challenge what is not right but also the spirit to forge what is. Aries is the warrior; in a spiritual sense the one who has the courage to uphold his or her principles and the one who is the soldier of the true self. With Sun in Aries your labours are to find the courage of your convictions and the strength to sanction them. What is honourable about you is the ability to challenge what is not right, to compete for what is and find the courage to face the confrontation. When you are in touch with your honour, you are capable of summoning the strength to act with bravery and champion what is noble. You are invigorated when challenged and your spirituality develops through withstanding the moral and ethical trials of life.

Your spirit cherishes its independence and welcomes challenges. You enjoy creative projects, pioneering new experiments and exploring unchartered territory. Being on the starting line you are animated by the spirit of adventure and brought to life by challenges and possibilities. Innocence and naïveté are helpful attributes as you are able to put the disappointments and failures of any project behind you and get on with a new idea or project. Taking a chance, exploring new frontiers and risking the security of what is not known demand an act of courage. Therefore you are likely to be a pioneer in your profession, perhaps breaking new ground in your chosen career, or perhaps by choosing a career on the cutting edge. You are a self-starter and therefore starting your own business, working on your own or any form of self-employment may appeal.

It is a combination of toughness and affection that allows you to be a firebrand on one hand and an idealist on the other. The compound of these two attitudes creates an advocate who champions the underdog, the conqueror who liberates the oppressed and the hero who scores the winning goal. In an etymological context courage is connected to the heart, since the ancient notion linked the force of will and character to the heart. Braveheart personifies your gift of courage. Like the heart which pumps blood through the body, your energetic spirit vitalises your soul in the world to be brave and claim what is rightfully yours. While you bravely face the worries and burdens of everyday life your alter ego, Captain Courageous, is active in the world championing the oppressed and liberating the downtrodden. To find your vitality and spirit and to feel soulful in the world you need to strive to find the qualities of assertiveness, bravery, enthusiasm, independence, initiative and inspiration on your vocational path.

Your Moon Sign

Moon in Sagittarius

Your Moon in Sagittarius reflects your strong need to learn and be inspired. You are a natural student. However your school is generally not the classroom where you feel bored and restless, but the university of life where you are experientially engaged in understanding other cultures, other languages and other ways of being. It might be quite natural for you to travel, even spend some time living abroad in your quest for answers. The Moon reflects your home and in Sagittarius this implies that your home is beyond the familial horizon. To care for your soul you need to venture farther afield and search for meaning. You love freedom whether it is being in nature, a wide horizon, open spaces or travel, as being involved with other cultures or with nature is conducive to your temperament. Both travel and study are important for you. If you are not explorative then you will not have the marriage of knowledge and experience, leaving dry theory and opinions to replace wisdom.

As a youngster you might have been called to adventure, imagining faraway places like Shangri-La or Mount Everest. You are still a keen explorer and whether you do this physically or intellectually you still feel stirred by the urge to adventure. Human values, ethics, morals and ideals are important to you and you need to become involved in pursuits you believe in and can recommend to others. You need to fully express yourself and pursue your goals openly and honestly. You have a positive and optimistic nature that inspires others and often draws you towards social education and reform.

In nurturing professions the Moon in Sagittarius is inspirational, a natural educator, coach and trainer. You intuitively know the role of faith in healing and therefore contemporary priestly roles like pastoral counsellor, religious advisor, a psychotherapist or spiritual mentor may appeal to you.

Your Rising Sign

Ascendant in Cancer

Money is not to be confused with love. Caring for others is your major purpose in life. This could be caring for your own family and friends, extended family, pets, children or the elderly, or caring for humanity, or all of these. You're impressionable, tenacious, hospitable, sympathetic and moody. You've strong feelings, ranging from the most pure feelings of compassion to the most intense feelings of antipathy. On the positive side your life is motivated by the highest form of feelings motivating you to care for other people, and bringing both you and the other parties a sense of warmth and emotional satisfaction. However, on a negative note you're highly impressionable and your feelings may be misguided. You're sensitive and easily hurt, and can build a protective wall if you feel vulnerable. All of these traits indicate that you need to make sure that you do not equate love with money. Emotional security does not equal financial security. Your goal is life is to nurture emotions, relationships and your own spiritual goals, not money-making ventures. Take time to notice how little importance money has in your life when you are truly feeling safe and happy. Then take a moment to think about how no amount of money really eases the troubled times. True worth comes from the intimacy and the experiences that you share with your loved ones. If you would like to focus on a positive affirmation connected to money then with your Cancer Ascendant you could use this one from “Creating Money – Keys to Abundance”by Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer “I bring love and a positive attitude to everything I do”.

Planets in Signs

Mercury in Aries

The planet Mercury in the zodiac sign of Aries indicates that you're a single-minded individual, and tend to make up your own mind rather than rely on the ideas of others. In fact you're rather quick to jump to conclusions. Mostly this is a benefit in your education because you've an agile mind and are capable of making sharp decisions on the spot. You're an independent thinker often experiencing flashes of intuition which help you reach your conclusions quickly. Others admire your incisive mind. The only problem is that often you are so far ahead of others in your thoughts that you're easily bored as you wait for them to catch up. You need the stimulation of new intellectual challenges, and the freedom to forge ahead at the forefront of communication discoveries. You can be quite wilful, and need to be mindful of the fact that while others may be slower in their thinking, they can still make a positive contribution.

Venus in Pisces

With Venus in the sign of Pisces you're sympathetic and understanding in your relationships, often letting your kind heart rule your head. You are charitable and like to help others, perhaps even choosing a career in which you take care of those less fortunate than yourself. You feel drawn to nurture the underdogs in society, which is an admirable intent as long as you're careful to ensure that your trusting nature isn't being taken advantage of. It's important that you constantly remind yourself of your own personal power. This helps you avoid any tendency to put yourself at risk or fall into a victim role. This is also true for your primary relationship. You're a kind and loving person, and need to make sure that you enter into a relationship with someone who appreciates these qualities. Fortunately the planet Venus is considered to be honoured in the sign of Pisces. Therefore you're likely to eventually fair well in your primary relationship. With the right person you'll enjoy sharing inspirational activities with your partner, whether it be listening to beautiful music or visiting an art gallery, or taking a peaceful walk by the ocean.

Mars in Virgo

The planet Mars in the sign of Virgo indicates that you're a shrewd person and will pursue your personal desires in a practical and methodical manner. You have a strong drive for perfection, and can often be found organising and re-arranging your environment in order that you live life more efficiently. You're keen to employ schedules and routines to help you run your daily life. It's also true that you find it difficult to cope if your routines are disrupted, and you have little patience for less-organised people. In fact you can be quite critical and judgmental, believing your methods to be the most practical and efficient, superior to other people's efforts. You don't suffer fools gladly and need to be careful to curb the perfectionist side of your nature. In some cases your interest is likely to be sparked by scientific pursuits, in particular medicine, but generally any science or research could be pursued. You prefer to be able to pursue your own interests without interference from other people and can systematically remove anyone who stands in your way. While this may sound harsh, it's true that you possess a vengeful side of your nature if opposed.

Jupiter in Taurus

You've the planet Jupiter in the zodiac sign of Taurus in your birth chart indicating that "success comes to those who wait" could be a good motto for you. This is because you like to take your time and build up your resources slowly and surely. You're a dignified person who realises the value of planning ahead and working towards a goal. Persistence pays off and material wealth is often the result. You're a peaceful person, more likely to be seeking security through expanding your financial resources and property rather than travelling around the world. It's not that you don't like to travel, but simply that you're a little stuck in your ways and prefer to travel for a purpose. Adventure and fun can just as readily be found on the home front as far as you're concerned. It would also be fair to say that you're somewhat attached to a comfortable life, which you easily build for yourself. Reserved by nature you prefer to travel along known pathways rather than venture into new and exciting areas. At times you can also be a little over-indulgent, but then you can usually afford to be. You're also like to have fixed religious ideas, whether they be traditional or unorthodox. It's not that you're narrow-minded, but rather than you adhere to a set of beliefs which can be your guide through life. You're interested in practical spirituality. In other words you believe that it's important to incorporate your religious or spiritual ideals into everyday life. "Actions speak louder than words" may be an appropriate adage for your personal beliefs. For this reason you could also become a patron of a group or organisations.

Saturn in Pisces

The planet Saturn in the sign of Pisces signifies that you're a compassionate and intuitive worker, although you can be anxious and fearful. At times you're indecisive and fickle in your actions because you're prone to allow external influences to sway your judgement. As a result you often experience delays and frustrations. You also seem to be frustrated in your attempts to achieve practical ambitions. You're ingenious and inspiring, but lack the ability or the circumstances to achieve your material ambitions. This concerns you more because of other people's expectations rather than because of your own values. Truth be known you would rather pursue a spiritual path or develop your artistic talents than work your way up the corporate ladder. Money and material goods are really only a means to an end, as far as you are concerned. You're more likely to seek security through understanding the psychic and metaphysical side of life. You would also prefer to have the opportunity to withdraw from the responsibilities of daily life rather than face the rigours of other people's expectations. Left to your own devices, or with a wealthy benefactor, you're happiest when meditating or reflecting on the afterworld or starving in the name of art.

Uranus in Virgo

The planet Uranus was in the sign of Virgo from 1962 - 1968. It's important to note that Uranus spends a long time in each sign, and therefore the interpretation applies to a generation rather than the individual. For a more individual interpretation you need to look at the house position of Uranus in your chart. Uranus in the sign of Virgo indicates that you belong to a generation which focuses on the practical details of humanity. Medical research, the balance between work and leisure, the links between mind and body come into focus. Your creativity soars when you're tackling these issues.

Neptune in Scorpio

The planet Neptune was in the sign of Scorpio from 1955 - 1970. It's important to note that Neptune takes about 164 years to make a complete cycle, spending about thirteen years in each sign, and therefore the interpretation applies to a generation rather than the individual. For a more individual interpretation you need to look at the house position of Neptune in your chart. Neptune in the sign of Scorpio indicates that you belong to a generation which has the ability to passionately pursue spiritual values. You face a battle between your material desires and the desire for a spiritual way of life. You know the value of regeneration rather than stagnation, and may play a role in changing the world.

Pluto in Virgo

The planet Pluto was in the sign of Virgo from 1957 - 1972. It's important to note that Pluto takes about 248 years to make a complete cycle, spending 12 - 32 years in each sign, and therefore the interpretation applies to a generation rather than the individual. For a more individual interpretation you need to look at the house position of Pluto in your chart. Pluto in the sign of Virgo suggests that you belong to a generation concerned with global health and environment. Your generation possesses the ability to transform the way the world sees health. Medical research, world-wide diseases, medical discoveries, and the links between mind and body are focuses for this generation.

Chiron in Pisces

You are a sensitive soul whose experiences may have a profound affect upon your sense of self. Your confidence and identity may suffer because your reality; that which you once believed was the truth, might later be revealed as something quite different. For example, you may have grown up in a cult or alternative community, or you may have a parent who has experienced drug problems or mental illness. Whatever your circumstances, you may feel a deep sense of loss, confusion, or disillusionment at some point.

You are probably more evolved and aware than you give yourself credit for. Because of your wounds, you may feel a bit lost and unsure of yourself, but over time you will become more aware that you possess rare and worthwhile gifts. Try not to feel obligated to continue with situations or connections that have a negative influence on your wellbeing, just for the sake of belonging.

The challenge you face is to get in touch with yourself and your own spiritual core. By doing this you will establish your own beliefs and more than likely discover that within you lies a highly creative and imaginative artist. At times you can feel you have lost your way and that you are simply going through the motions. If you feel depressed by the circumstances of your life, seek help and guidance. You are a highly intuitive and caring soul and helping others can be spiritually uplifting. Do not be tempted to escape your pain by medicating yourself with drugs or alcohol. Share your experiences by assisting people in similar circumstances.

The key to healing is to be found in your own spiritual journey. Possible options to explore include: Reiki, spiritual and energy healing, meditation or hypnotherapy. Most importantly, develop a meaningful life philosophy and embrace music, art and colour. Your capacity to give selflessly is second to none, but you need to give to yourself too. Once you embrace your spiritual centre, you will find wisdom.

Planets in Houses

Sun in 9th House

The progressed Sun moves slowly through the houses. The ninth house of your chart is currently emphasized indicating that you are keen to spread your wings and explore new horizons. Travel, religion, cultural pursuits, sports and philanthropy are all themes. You may also be keen to communicate some of your own life philosophies or publish an artistic or written work. You need to expand your horizons or you will feel imprisoned by other people's expectations and society's limitations. Knowledge is the key to wisdom and understanding.

Moon in 5th House

All child-like qualities are the focus of your life during this phase - fun, playfulness, natural creativity, romance and joy. It is time to dance with the fairies, picnic outdoors in meadows of flowers and under the sun, play at the beach or simply watch a romantic movie. Whatever your chosen activities, you now experience an urge to discover people and activities that give you joy. During this process you may attract children, and perhaps even lovers, who teach you about the lighter side of life. You may be drawn to working with children voluntarily or as part of your profession. Family members may call on you to care for their children. Right now you enjoy the spontaneity and free spirits of youngsters. You may even decide that the time is right to give birth to a child of your own. On the other hand you may give birth to a new creative idea or project. This phase can be highly productive if you are involved in an artistic field. Theatre, music, dance, art, sculpture, or design work may hold a particular appeal and benefit from your creative input under this influence. It is important that you do not shirk your responsibilities during this phase, but rather try to weave more joy into your daily life. The sign of your progressed Moon will also show you the area of your life most likely to be affected by this new joyful you!

Mercury in 9th House

The Messenger of the Gods is in the House of the Gods. As such your likely to experience a leap of faith during this period. This could mean that you experience a transcendental moment in your life, something that inspires you to take up a spiritual or artistic lifestyle. On a more practical note you may decide to travel, enter into academia or become involved in an international or multi-cultural cause. At first you may simply find yourself drawn to material (reading or media) that stretches your mind and interests. Gradually though you are likely to want to learn more, and perhaps change your life as a result. This is a period in your life where you can focus on the bigger picture rather than worrying about small details. The world news rather than local affairs is likely to attract your attention. If you are spiritually inclined then you may like to think of this as a time during which you can "feed your soul". It is certainly a period during which you can discover meaning and purpose in your life.

Venus in 8th House

Relationships deepen as the planet of love moves slowly through the 8th House of your Birth Chart. This can be an enriching time when your most intimate bonds strengthen and become more sacred. Occasionally this can indicate a time in which you need to cut ties with someone who is a negative influence. You may go through a dark and wintry period, but you can be assured that this period is one of change. Just as the Earth's seasons change from Winter to Spring, so too will your intimate relationships. If this is a time of death, then it will also be a time of birth and re-emergence. The planet Venus also influences money, and so this is a time for sowing and ultimately reaping benefits from investments.

Mars in 2nd house

Masculine Mars is in your 2nd house, the sector that reveals your potential earning power and what you value. Planets in the 2nd house are the forces that mould your sense of worth and value. Considering the Martian presence in your life can help you understand your authentic attitude towards money and possessions. Mars values independence, therefore you probably prefer to earn your own living and pay your own bills rather than relying on others to provide. You would probably also chose to be self-employed or at least do your own thing if given the choice. As a warrior you prefer to fight your own battles rather than someone else's. You value your independent spirit and want to put it to work. Quite common with this placement are individuals who earn their living in trades such as electricians, fitters and turners, builder or carpenters where there is goal and deadline. Occupations where danger and adrenaline is high such as working in an emergency unit, the police force or the fire patrol would also appeal to action-packed Mars. Given the entrepreneurial streak you might also be fired up working in high risk positions such as the stock market, financial trading, investing or property development. This energy also yearns to be active so physical or sport-orientated jobs might also suit. Therefore there are a variety of vocations you might be drawn to. Even though they may be masculine in temperament they are not always the exclusive domain of men. As the best-seller Men are from Mars suggested earning your income is dictated by this archetypal essence which is drawn to danger, intrigue and excitement, values independence, adventure and courage and needs to be stimulated and challenged.

One of your resources is your entrepreneurial flair and your bravado. You are willing to take a risk, confront obstacles and be challenged. This suggests you will be quite happy exploring all your options on your career path, starting and resigning from many different jobs until you find your niche. As you look back over your career path you will probably find a number of fool-hearted enterprises that you have attempted. All were important for you as you learn on the job and need to experiment with your what works and what doesn't. You need to be challenged and inspired by what you do and need a goal post in sight. Your competitive nature needs to strive for a finish. Whether you compete with others in the workforce or against your own standards you do need to set guidelines and objectives.

Mars is also the planet of desire and depending on your background you either have a strong desire to go and get what you want or are ambivalent, still caught in the backwash of earlier attitudes which do not support your sense of self esteem. One thing is for sure: you do want things and it is natural for you to wish for these. So make your wish list and work towards getting these. Look at what you value. Whether that is a red sports car or a surf board you probably are attracted to boy's toys and gadgets that make life a lot more fun, sporty and adventuresome. And this is the way you value life and will try to earn your living. Happiness for you is finding the way to be gainfully employed doing your own thing.

Jupiter in 10th house

In your 10th house you have the planet Jupiter, known for its expansive, positive and confident nature. Careers involved in expanding people's understanding of themselves and the world around them, or administering to individual’s religious and soul-needs are Jupiterian and suited to your temperament. Philosophers, philosophy teachers, the realms of literature, ministers, clergymen, motivational instructors, educators and coaches are under the influence of Jupiter and any of these roles would provide a focus for this expansive energy. Jupiter also is associated with team sports, the sporting industry, adventure and is connected to horse racing, sporting goods, team sports, explorer, adventure guides. One of the consistent themes in your vocation will be the urge to expand and stretch yourself beyond the limits that were set by your family and culture. You have the urge to exceed the expectations that were set down.

Jupiterian vocations educate and inspire others to a greater understanding; therefore professors, university lecturers and tutors, teachers of higher wisdom utilise the archetype of Jupiter in their careers. Cross-cultural contacts, travel and dealing with international concerns are also part of pattern, including vocations in the foreign service, import/export trade, protocol, ambassadors, foreign trade, interpreters, missionaries, travel consultants and industry, foreign affairs, international contacts. As part of education Jupiter rules the dissemination of information and ideas: publishing, author, advertising, telecommunications industry

As the chief Olympian Zeus (Jupiter) was the most influential of the gods and this archetype seeks to influence and impact others with their ideas, generally through 'education'. Teaching, instructing, publishing, coaching, guiding and mentoring is the common denominator of all Jupiterian professions. Your urge will be to educate and disseminate information that will enhance understanding and improve the quality of life. It is imperative that you bring your vision and your ethics to whatever career you choose. You are an eternal student and traveller and it is important that you bring your visionary and optimistic spirit into any role you play in the world.

Saturn in 8th House

The planet Saturn progresses slowly through the Zodiac and therefore its influence is subtle. Saturn is a wonderful planet when you do your homework. However, if you try to escape your responsibilities then you are likely to suffer the consequences. So wherever this planet progresses you need to listen to your conscience and obey, rather than try to cut corners. In your case Saturn is progressing now through the 8th House of the Zodiac which is linked with seasons, birth, death, business and metaphysics. Therefore you are likely to take life quite seriously. Of course you may have been born with Saturn in your 8th House and so your nature might be serious. The progression of Saturn through this section of your Birth Chart sees you learn by experience. You are likely to be focus on matters of depth rather than superficial ones. This is a wonderful opportunity to build a legacy that is worthwhile for others in society.

Uranus in 2nd house

Ultimately wealth and independence are entwined and when you are self-reliant you feel affluent. With Uranus in your 2nd house it is important to be aware that your approach to money and possessions could be quite unconventional, as this planet is known for its rebelliousness and nonconformity. This planet also signifies unpredictability and surprises. In the 2nd house this could suggest sudden changes of fortune. Therefore it would be important to consider how you might bring your unique skills and specialised talents to your career path in order to feel more comfortable on the wheel of fortune. You might forge your own independent route choosing to make your living outside convention or in an unconventional way. Or it could also suggest working in an environment that is futuristic, cutting-edge or ahead of its time. Another possibility is that you might find that you earn your income in a humanitarian way, working to improve the human condition or the state of the earth. Whatever road you take into the world of work, it needs to be a road less travelled.

Finding your own distinctive path that has not been trampled upon suggests that you will need to tap into your uniqueness and inventiveness. You are ingenious and can use your imagination to forge your way. Vocationally you are well suited to fields of endeavour that are unusual, ones that have not even been thought of yet. Therefore you are comfortable being on the edge of change, helping forge new directions and advancements. A career in technology might suit especially if you are helping revolutionise attitudes to work or helping create solutions for the future. Or politics is another sphere where you can use your vision and your protest to create change. Revolutionising the human experience is also akin to this astrological statement. Therefore whether you are attracted to science or the liberal arts, you feel the need to help advance human understanding and equality. You have an altruistic streak that needs expression in your vocation.

Uranus in the 2nd also reveals your attitudes towards money and possessions. Again this may be unusual or at least out of the ordinary. Your attitudes to material assets and financial security may fluctuate and change considerably. Or you might also unexpectedly receive money. It is important to consider your attitudes to money as they might be unconsciously contributing to financial worries. Ironically you need money to help you feel independent; therefore it is in your best interest to find ways to make this possible. You might find you have an uncanny knack at picking the right shares, making astute investments or being clever at financial planning. Reflect on original ways to make money. You have an inventive streak, which is a resource. Discover how this might work best for you. Ultimately you have the ability to be detached from the material world. This is important as this helps you feel relaxed and confident that you have enough resources.

Neptune in 4th House

The meaning of the planet Neptune placed in the 4th House of your chart varies depending on the other influences in your chart. It usually means that there are plenty of skeletons in the family closet, which family members are keen to see remain behind closed doors. Perhaps other family members are well aware of the skeletons, and it's only you who refuses to face the reality, preferring to build a fantasy picture of your childhood home and family. It's possible that there were several changes of residence in your childhood, or perhaps one major move which affected you deeply. It's also possible that a grandmother had an important influence on your early childhood and family life. There is likely to be a sense of loss associated with your family home, or with your parents. As an adult you may repeatedly attempt to recreate a home that will reflect the ideal held in your mind, or in search of the security which was absent as a child. This can lead to frustration. On the other hand you may be well aware of the peculiarities of your childhood home or family, recalling a sense of loss or disillusion. With this placement you're likely to benefit from the healing effects of living near water, or in wide open spaces. You may also enjoy living in a large apartment block, revelling in the anonymity.

Pluto in 2nd house

In ancient Greek plutus meant wealth and it is this association with riches that was transferred onto Pluto. As lord of the underworld he ruled over the vast domain of resources hidden in the earth. Psychologically the deity reminds us of the wealth in our own underworld, the untapped resources and riches awaiting release. In your 2nd house this suggests that you have innate wealth and power to be mined. First and foremost, it is necessary to know what feeds the desire for wealth and capital, as money will confront you with deep issues in the self. Being in the 2nd house, Pluto has shaped your sense of worth and value, therefore this suggests your best assets are your honesty and integrity and your innate resource is your ability to work therapeutically with crisis and change.

One recurring pattern I have seen is the confrontation with one's sense of worth and power through money. In other words you may unconsciously find yourself close to losing your assets which drives you into transforming and rebuilding your possessions. However, you do not need to lose everything to know that you have the power to restore and rebuild your capital. You have a powerful sense of wealth creation which will work for you when you recognise that you would like to be more critically involved in your work and that you are worth it. Or you also may fear losing your money, be haunted by images of not having, which are ways you confront your own sense of worth. It is important to know that these feelings are not prophetic but psychological, forcing you to honestly confront your own sense of worth and find the resources that promote a valued sense of self. You also have the knack of transforming what others have discarded or undervalued and make it an object of worth.

Invest in the things that are of worth to you, not others. Wealth is a subjective experience and while others may objectify money and possessions, to you it is different. What may be invisible to them is often a great asset to you. Therefore, you have a gut instinct for the right shares to purchase and a feeling about the best house to buy; this valuable resource needs direction. Income could come through mysterious ways, inheritances but of course vocationally professions involving research, medical or psychotherapeutic work, crisis management and consulting or with any underground link could also be possible. What is important to know is that your resources are the depth of your perceptions, the integrity of your convictions and the power of your honesty. But perhaps the greatest asset you have is the ability to trust yourself in times of decision making about resources and to know that you have made the right choices. You will eliminate what is not necessary; however, you will also bring the hidden treasure to the surface.

;=====================================================================

NorthNode in 11th House

Your North Node is in the 11th house with the opposite pole of the South Node occupying the 5th. Astrologically this is similar to the Leo-Aquarius polarity, which contrasts the sphere of individual imagination and self-expression with group participation and company creativity. Your horoscope suggests that while you may be more comfortable being personally involved with your own creativity, it is necessary to become more aligned with community concerns. Vocationally your path leads towards the sphere of being involved in group projects and undertakings. Therefore you need to strive to integrate your originality with the social climate in the environment. Ironically while you are passionate about your own ideas and beliefs your path takes you into the political arena where the voice of the people and the community need to be heard and supported. You have the capacity to be a voice for a larger collective; therefore it is important to know that others will respect your views and beliefs.

It is valuable to know that you will be well received and admired in the community when you heed the call to become more involved in organisations and group efforts. Turning the spotlight away from your own need for acknowledgement and applause to follow your strong humanitarian impulses will be beneficial for you and your career. You need to be involved in a cooperative to exchange ideas and information and bring your unique enterprise into public domain. Your creative talent is both exclusive and original, therefore you find your colleagues and soul mates through like-minded associations, which are often marginal or out of the mainstream. It may be through your participation in communal action that you find a greater purpose and direction. No doubt others will acknowledge your social role; therefore it is important to consider others' invitations to speak publicly about your creativity, join the executive of the society or represent the group in some way. Vocationally your creative expression is ultimately tied to the wider community of artisans, healers, visionaries and entrepreneurs. Your voice adds weight to the acceptance and respect of your creative endeavours.

Chiron in 8th House

Relationships are delicately balanced at the best of times. A loving relationship offers the opportunity for healing of emotional wounds from the past and personal growth and fulfilment. When two people relate in a tender way then it is possible to provide the greatest opportunities for healing rather than more hurtful experiences. Working through emotionally difficult times is when Chiron is working at its best. At times in relationship, one person may inadvertently trigger the other’s hurt feelings. These feelings may be left over from your childhood, or from a previous relationship. Either way your current relationship is an opportunity to relate differently. A loving union provides the chance to let go of the past and experience intimacy and true love now. This placement of Chiron in your Combined Chart means that this relationship is likely to be deep and meaningful. Shared resources, sexual intimacy and metaphysical matters are highlighted. Together you can help each other recognise what is truly valued in your lives. Whether your lessons are painful, or happy, you learn much about money, sex, and sharing. It is possible that this union will result in a business or work that has an esoteric bent. It is also important when Chiron is placed here that you both carefully negotiate, as much as you can, your values when it comes to sharing. For instance do you agree on the type of investments that you want? Do you both want to invest in property or would one of you prefer to rent and put have a large savings account? Another sensitive area is sexuality. The energy of Chiron can be very healing, but it can also be hurtful. You need to ascertain early in your relationship whether or not you are sexually compatible. If you have conflicting values in this intimate area then you need to be very sensitive to each other’s needs. The more that you address any relationship problems early in the relationship the more that you avoid conflict later on. It is important that you both speak your truth, not what you think is expected. Emotional truth will surface sooner or later when Chiron is placed here.

Nodes

NorthNode in Gemini

In your natal horoscope you have the North Node in Gemini and the South Node in Sagittarius signifying you have access to a breadth of knowledge. Innately you are scholastic, yet ironically schooling may never have brought this out in you. It is through your own course of study, adventure and travel beyond the horizon that have educated you. Through your own personal experiences and training you have accumulated a large library of resources and in your vocation you need to draw on these. The dragon you will fight in your professional life will be the feeling that your hard-won opinions and beliefs are the right ones for everyone. Ironically you will be called on to disseminate your ideas and beliefs but now the righteousness needs to be extracted so these concepts and ideals can be more widely distributed. By nature you are a teacher, an educator and a trainer and your vocation is to inspire others not convince them of your beliefs.

Qualities that need both development and expression in a vocation are concentrated on the faculties of communication and ideas. You need to widen your sphere of influence in order to disseminate your innate knowledge, whether that is through speaking, writing, teaching, broadcasting or telecommunications. Therefore it is important to network, make contacts and be active in the community of colleagues. With your breadth of understanding and intuition you have an uncanny sense of knowing what is right. Let your intuition, innate knowledge and far sightedness lead you concentrating on articulating and forming ideas so that your beliefs can be understood and embraced by the world at large.

Your invitation is to be a correspondent with larger ideas. Since you have an innate knack at seeing the larger picture and the underlying meaning to what is going on you are called to impart these concepts to a wider audience, becoming a practical dreamer, an everyday philosopher. Communication is a necessary part of your vocation. Whether you express your creativity through design, writing, journalism, politics, lecturing, body movements, laughter in not important; what is necessary is that you articulate these creative ideas. Any medium that can offer a venue to exchange ideas, thoughts and information is vital in you feeling vocationally content. Flexibility and the freedom to communicate are paramount. Having an instinct for education and knowledge you are able to marry this with facts, statistics and information, therefore employment which involves telecommunications, the Internet, sales, specialised information, maps, atlases, books, magazines, news, reports, and statistics might appeal. However your vocation finds you, it probably will be when you're on the move, in between or asking the larger questions about life.

Aspects

Moon Hard Uranus

The Moon and the planet Uranus are connected in your chart suggesting that your home life is unusual and changeable. It could be that you've difficulty settling down in one place, or that you live in extraordinary surroundings. In some way your family life is unusual. This isn't necessarily a negative experience, although it could be upsetting. Perhaps you, or a member of your family, have an unusual hobby which has taken over the household, or necessity requires that your family often changes residence. The erratic nature of your household probably stems from your childhood experiences. Perhaps your family was different from traditional families, or circumstances led to emotional upsets in the family home. It's possible that you suffered from a sense of insecurity as a child as a result of changing family life. Your mother, or an important mother figure, may have been an unusual or unstable influence in your early childhood. A continuing sense of a lack of security in your home and family may be a source of emotional distress, as you struggle to come to terms with conflicting emotions. However, you're a resourceful, inventive and independent person, and will eventually learn to blend your individual need for excitement and stimulation in the home environment with a need for comfort and security.

Moon Hard Pluto

The Moon and the planet Pluto are connected in your birth chart indicating that you're an intense and emotional person, prone to extreme highs and lows. You love drama and intensity, because these give you a sense of being deeply connected to your loved ones, and to the world. It's likely that your family and home life are periodically emotionally volcanic. This can be problematic if other members of your family don't desire the same level of intensity, particularly if they're seeking peace and quiet at home. If this is the case your needs are directly opposed to your loved ones', which may not concern you, but could result in dramatic changes in your personal life. This is also a problem because you've a deep sense of commitment to your personal relationships, and feel betrayed if others don't share this commitment. It's likely that your need for emotional intensity originates from an early childhood experience, probably linked with your mother or another strong woman figure. Your relationship with your mother is likely to be immersed with intense feelings, perhaps even stemming from a life-or-death situation. You may feel positively or negatively about your mother. Either way your feelings are likely to be strong. You're a resourceful person, and can rely on your own resources to solve most problems. You need to find a creative outlet for your intense nature, something that will totally absorb your attention. Perhaps you would enjoy property development, or renovating your house. You're a powerful person with leadership skills, and a need for a challenge.

Moon Hard Saturn

Much of your adult life has been spent trying to overcome the difficulties that you faced as a child in your home and family. Astrologically speaking this is because the planet Saturn is contacting the Moon in your birth chart. Ancient astrologers believed that the planet Saturn had a malefic influence in a person's chart. In your case your early home life has been adversely affected. The extent of this effect depends largely on other influences in your chart. In some cases it can mean that your childhood home lacked spontaneity and warmth, but was well-organised and structured in a manner which helped you to feel supported and safe. However, it's more likely that circumstances in your family led to you feeling that home was a cold and unsupportive environment. This could have been one painful incident such as the loss of a family member, or it could have been the result of years of hardship. It's possible that one of your parents, perhaps your mother, was a strict and severe influence, unable to show you the affection that you felt you deserved. As a result it's likely that you're somewhat shy as an adult, lacking in self-confidence and sensitive to criticism. You may be emotionally reserved. Perhaps you have chosen at some stage in your life to live in solitude rather than risk the lack of affection and warmth that you felt as a child. As you grow older and work on your self-esteem you can build a lasting maturity. You develop an inner self-confidence which helps you build firm foundations in your life and achieve your ambitions, as well as loving family relationships. You work solidly to build yourself a secure and firm footing, earning the respect of those around you. You can succeed in business and in your career, particularly through being noticed by your superiors. You may also benefit through investments in land and property.

Moon Hard Mars

The Moon is making a difficult aspect to the planet Mars in your chart indicating that arguments and emotional disputes abound in your home life. These upsets could be caused by another member of your family, but it's more likely that you're quick-tempered and intolerant around your loved ones. Your intentions are good, but you've difficulty containing your anger in certain situations. At times you feel as though you've been unfairly misjudged and this adds fuel to your already well-lit fire. Unfortunately your impatience and irritability can result in periods of loneliness because others would rather leave you alone than bear the brunt of your bad moods. You may also find that your loved ones are angry at your attitude or it could be that they simply find it impossible to relax in your company, which is a problem if they want peace and quiet at home. You need to find an outlet for your nervous tension. For instance, letting off steam in sports or activities that demand high energy or concentration will help. Finding an absorbing project which can be based in your home could also prove beneficial. You certainly have plenty of energy and this could be directed into new enterprises or working around the house.

Mercury quincunx Neptune

With Mercury Quincunx Neptune, adjustments in your life are mediated by the Angels Michael and Tamiel. When the energies of the Angel of warrior spirit and the Angel of Primordial Energies meet, you can expect lots of action! On the one hand, you have the full power of the confessor, and on the other you have the power of punishment. Sounds grim! However, these two Angels are all about showing you the path of personal integrity. They don't just suggest it, they reveal the path of integrity in pictures, words, feelings, and spiritual inspiration.

Naturally, you have a fabulous imagination. You perceive the past, present, and future as a seamless, integrated whole. You can write powerful drama, fiction, or poetry. Your capacity for artistic expression in music, painting, or sculpting can develop if that is where your interests lie. In focusing on Michael and Tamiel, you find you can imbue all your activities with sparkle and glamour that act like magnets for the imaginations of the people around you.

You have skill in communication about feelings and needs reveals itself in your persona. You can counsel others through peer counseling, training in psychology or psychiatry, religious vocation, or spiritual channels. Your intuitive capacity grows as you focus on the Angelic energies available to you.

You sometimes experience poor judgment when you don't think things through carefully. This is an area where meditation allows you direct access to the support of your Angels. Yoga is another good way to coordinate mind and body so that your thoughts are clear and powerful.

As you work with Angelic presence, you find that any former tendency toward wrong thinking is replaced by thoughts of compassion. No longer ruminating on supposed wrongs from others, you find yourself experiencing the spiritual power within them. Then you choose Right Speech to encourage them to express that power more clearly.

Mercury Hard Neptune

The planets Mercury and Neptune are forming a difficult pattern in your chart suggesting that your mind is sometimes confused causing you to suffer setbacks and delays in your education and communication with other people. At times you're vague, lacking concentration and resolution. It's possible that you've spent many hours day-dreaming, lost in a world of thoughts and ideas which seem to have amounted to very little. This is partly because you lack the ability to make decisions, doubting your own abilities and relying too heavily on the influence of other people. It could also be a result of your lack of self-control. On a positive note other influences in your chart, or the development of self-discipline, can help you achieve your dreams. If this is the case then you're likely to express your thoughts in an artistic or creative manner. This could be through art, poetry, literature, story-telling, or music. It's possible that you possess genius in one of these fields. You're also likely to excel in medical or spiritual circles, where your heightened sensitivity to other people can be truly appreciated. You're more likely to follow an unconventional, rather than orthodox, path if you become involved in medicine. This is because you're attracted in psychic and spiritual phenomena. In fact you may possess psychic gifts. You may also enjoy reflective periods near the water, or with nature.

Mercury Soft Moon

The planet Mercury is associated with the Moon in your chart indicating you've a quick wit, and a sharp and penetrating mind. Depending on other influences in your chart, you're likely to excel in any studies, but particularly in communications, media studies, research, and languages. You may also be adept at public speaking, because of your sharp mind, and your clear elocution.

Venus Soft Jupiter

"Lucky in love and money". This could be your personal motto because the favourable planets Jupiter and Venus are combining to shine good fortune on your relationships and finances. You're fun loving, generous and popular. With your sympathetic and kind nature, you've a talent for putting other people at their ease. You're optimistic and talented, full of joie de vivre. Therefore you're likely to be surrounded by supportive friends, and many potential life partners. You're seeking a relationship with someone who will expand your horizons, perhaps even joining your travels around the world. You love to share adventures, philosophies and goals. Other influences in your chart may indicate that you prefer to keep the home fires burning, but it's more likely that you seek adventure and romance with your partner.

Mars Hard Saturn

Conflict is likely to be a key feature of your life because of the influence of the planets Saturn and Mars in your chart. When these combine in an unfavourable manner it leads to troubles and discord. You're probably well aware of the difficulties that you face in some areas of your life, finding it difficult to motivate yourself to overcome them. Other people and circumstances seem to stand in the path of your success, which is frustrating. In some cases you could be frustrated by a physical illness, which prevents you working towards your ambitions. It's true that you shouldn't neglect your physical health, because you could be prone to illness and harm through accidents. You may find that resentment and thoughts of revenge are ways in which you motivate yourself into action. Of course you would do well to avoid acting on these feelings, otherwise you could end up in violent disputes or in trouble with the law. This influence in your chart can indicate achieving notoriety, which is very different from achieving success. It's possible that you've difficulty remembering a time when life didn't have its problems. Perhaps you had a tough life as a child either through difficult family circumstances or because of a strict and harsh parent figure. Of course much of this scenario depends on other influences in your chart. On a more positive note you're confident and ambitious, capable of driving yourself and others to achieve your objectives. You can be motivated by the thought of achievement, and are likely to succeed through hard work and self-discipline. In fact you're determined to succeed in certain areas of your life. Your will power can be indomitable, particularly when you've determined on a course of action.

Jupiter Hard Neptune

The planets Jupiter and Neptune are forming a difficult aspect in your chart indicating that you encounter difficulties early in life when expressing the creative side of your nature. It could be that you're not aware of your talents, or it could be that you're a dreamer who has trouble making practical moves to develop your abilities. Perhaps you're idealistic when it comes to assessing your options. The good news is that you're likely to overcome these difficulties as you mature. Whether you know it or not, you're a highly-talented individual. You're not necessarily a budding artist, but there's at least one area in your life in which you're creative. Of course you need to become aware of this talent before you can fully develop. You then need to acquire self-discipline if you're to make something of your gifts. Once you've made this discovery, whether it be in teaching, the arts, healing or spirituality, then you're capable of reaching for the stars. Your spiritual beliefs may also play a prominent role in helping you achieve your ambitions.

Jupiter Opposition Neptune

"Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal." This quotation by author Ralph Vaull Starr could be the theme of your life right now. It is a time for dreaming, for reflection and for making the most of any opportunities that arise to enable you to follow your dreams.

Saturn Hard Pluto

The combination of the planets Saturn and Pluto in your chart suggests that you're an ambitious, insightful and powerful person, but that you've some difficulty in achieving your ambitions. This could either be that you're overpowering in your attempts to pursue your ambitions, thereby alienating other people. This is particularly true in your relationships with anyone in authority. You don't take kindly to being ordered around by anyone. On the other hand you could also experience moments when you feel overpowered by a hostile world, uncertain of achieving your aims and objectives. The problems are likely to be rooted in your childhood, in which you struggled to find your own individual path. Perhaps one or both of your parents was particularly powerful, even violent during your childhood. It's also possible that your parents, or society's rules, couldn't handle such a powerful young personality. Either way you're likely to make a powerful impact on your friends, family, colleagues and loved ones, both as a child and an adult. At times you might be surprised by the extent of other people's reactions to your presence and opinions. You may even surprise yourself by your own reactions to some circumstances. Authority is likely to be a continuing source of difficulty in your life, as you attempt to find the right balance between your own individual rights, and those of the community. Of course there are many instances when these two rights coincide, but you're more likely to find yourself involved in the clashes. As a result you could be a powerful leader, perhaps in the government or as an executive or politician. You can be a powerful leader, but first you must learn to use your unique insights for positive purposes. The 19th Century author John Stuart Mill said in his work On Liberty (1859) that, "Everyone who desires power, desires it most over those who are nearest to him, with whom his life is passed, with whom he has most concerns in common, and in whom any independence of his authority is oftenest likely to interfere with his individual preferences". Herein lies a key to your chart. You've the ability to succeed in your ambitions, but first you must learn how to deal with the balance of power in your life, respecting both your own and other people's rights to succeed.

Saturn Hard Mars

An unfavourable combination of the planets Saturn and Mars can indicate difficulties in your profession, particularly in partnerships or companies. You need to be careful to avoid litigation, which you're like to lose. Of course this depends largely on other influences in your chart. Nevertheless you need to act with the utmost integrity within your career to ensure success rather than scandal.

Saturn Hard Uranus

When you're not rebelling against authority, or anyone who tries to curb your individual rights, then you're able to succeed in achieving your ambitions. However, the combination of the planets Saturn and Uranus indicate that you're likely to sabotage your own success through wilful behaviour. You need to overcome your wayward tendencies, and learn to compromise, otherwise your career suffers. On a positive note you're independent, resourceful and self-motivated, all of which enable you to eventually achieve success in whatever you turn your mind to. You may discover that you've natural abilities in the fields of science, mathematics, business organisation, industry and metaphysics. It's likely that you'll succeed in any career that utilises your gift for blending the old with the new.

Neptune Quincunx NorthNode

With Neptune quincunx the North Node, the adjustments to life that are forced upon you are eased through the close companionship between Tamiel and the entire heavenly host. You are inclined to think that anything is possible when this aspect is active in your life, perhaps because so many Angelic energies contribute to your lively imagination. It seems that each of the many Angels helps you adapt a tiny bit, so that change becomes myriad shifts instead of one big change.

A weakness is the lack of flexibility in dealings with other people, possibly due to your confusion about what they want or how you fit into their plans. Another possible problem concerns dreams that disturb your peaceful sleep.

If you have difficulty establishing good contacts with other people, call upon Tamiel and the heavenly hosts for comfort and support. They can stimulate imaginative ways of getting your ideas across to others.

On the up side, you can develop your psychic sensitivity so that you know what is coming in the next moment or the near future. This way you feel better prepared and can appear more adaptable, even if you still feel a bit foggy about the details.

With a host of Angels behind you to bolster your courage, you find that engaging with others in social activities becomes easier.

Neptune Trine Ascendant

This planet progresses very slowly throughout your lifetime. Therefore you are likely to have this aspect in your birth chart. This progression may emphasise your urge to express the intuitive and artistic side of your personality.

NorthNode Soft Mercury

The North Node and the planet Mercury are combining to indicate that you're being urged to develop your communication skills. Your destiny in this life may be linked to some form of teaching or communication, with individuals or groups.

SouthNode Soft Mercury

The South Node and the planet Mercury are combining in a way that suggests your communication skills are highly-developed, but you need to avoid your tendency for talk rather than action. You're being challenged to stop scattering your energy in all directions and put your communication skills to good use so that you can achieve your purpose.

Chiron trine Neptune

This is an aspect in effect for many people. It gives the individual a tendency to take for granted that the dreams you dream are ideals that will lead to a whole life, and may not be consciously aware of how important these dreams are to you.

If, in childhood, you were allowed to dream and express the dreams, as an adult you will feel very comfortable exploring matters of alternate realities and ideals which could slowly change the world. On the other hand, if you were told in childhood to stick to the real world, the dreams you take for granted will be just the dreams instilled in you by others. To best understand yourself, you must take time to look at your deepest dreams and decide are they truly your own, or have you just taken the dreams of others and sacrificed your own?

This aspect enables you to sojourn beyond the present world into more spiritual realms to help you heal, and it would be advisable for you to take time on a regular basis for meditation, yoga, or other transcendental activities. In fact, it is necessary, if you are to make the best of living in the day-to-day world, that you have regular times where you get away from it, and so this aspect shows that you need to be sure to allow yourself time alone.

Some of your greatest inspirations will come during these ‘journeys’. Chiron trine Neptune person Alexander G. Bell came up with the idea for the telephone while on one of his ‘journeys’ outside of his day-to-day existence.

Chiron Trine Ascendant

This point progresses very slowly throughout your lifetime. Therefore you are likely to have this aspect in your birth chart. This progression may emphasise your healing abilities. You are on a quest to learn the many aspects of healing - physical, emotional and spiritual. The quotation from the Bible's New Testament Luke iv. 23. - "Physician heal thyself" - may hold special meaning. You may also need to learn when to give others the freedom to heal themselves and when to offer a helping hand.

Chiron Square Moon

Chiron is not a Planet in the astronomical sense, but as a celestial wanderer it fits the ancient tradition of a Planet. In many ways Chiron is marginal to the herd of Planets and metaphorically parallels these feelings of being an outsider. In aspect to the Moon it highlights the sense of feeling displaced. Often this is experienced through dislocation, abandonment or relinquishment.

Chiron combines with the Moon in a way that is akin to that uncomfortable feeling of being a stranger in a strange land. For many this combination has been experienced as their mother’s postnatal depression, a family separation, an adoption or emigration. It is also possible that a parental wound of displacement or exclusion may have psychically harmed your sense of safety. However this presents in your life experience, it suggests your process of being close to your caretakers has been bruised by feelings of exclusion that infected the family atmosphere and your feelings of security. You may harbour feelings of marginality with the need to be accepted often resulting in a feeling of exclusion. Your task is to accept that your apex of security is not at the centre of the system, but on its fringe. Your fate may be to wander or feel displaced before your sense of belonging can be established. Or you may have had the experience of your family being the outsider in the culture or society you grew up in. This family wound of feeling marginal may have hampered your ability to leave the enmeshed family unit. You may feel that your family has perpetuated and confirmed a myth that the pain of living is great. If this is so, then you may feel that your spirit to adventure and explore beyond the family and its culture has been compromised.

When you feel secure, you know you can be heroic when faced with being foreign or marginal in the system within which you find yourself. If your parents encouraged a healthy sense of feeling different and demonstrated freedom was possible by not being part of the system, then you internalised a healthy sense of being foreign. You would have developed the self-esteem to be secure in a foreign environment and acquired the ability to be compassionate and caring about others who suffer the same sense of disenfranchisement. In many ways this is the task of this aspect.

However if there was not enough parental support, you felt orphaned from your family unit. Your sense of attachment may have suffered due to a parental wound. When a parent’s spirit is broken, the shade haunts the family atmosphere, leaving you feeling helpless and unprepared to become part of a greater community. Your destiny is to engage in the depth understanding and healing of the family wound that keeps you feeling disenfranchised.

Feeling marginal and peripheral you are at risk of recreating relationships where abandonment or exclusion impedes intimacy. Healing comes through the forging of close bonds with others who accept you. Your kindred spirits accept you into their inner circle and celebrate your differences. They engage with you on your own level without making you feel that you need to be one of them. Through your close relationships with soulmates your feelings of exclusion and marginality are healed.

Chiron opposition Pluto

Chiron and Pluto do not reach opposition often, but when they do they often continue that aspect for several years, creating what some call a sub-generation. In the past hundred years, they only were in opposition for one period, but everyone born from March 1961 through February 1966 have this aspect in their chart.

This aspect seems to express itself in one of two ways.

• In some natives it shows up as a great need to overcome some powerful inner hostility stemming from early childhood. This hostility may come from being constantly thwarted by parents, or from being a recipient of hostility from others in the environment. Whatever the cause, there are major lessons to learn about opening up, getting in touch with the inner rage, and then cleansing it once and for all from the system.

• In other persons, rather than anger, the expression is a need to win, to overcome obstacles and to beat any opponent. In both cases, you need to face the root of the hostility, or intensity, in order to bring about the needed healing.

It also gives a deep awareness of suffering, something you can put out of your mind but which never completely leaves you. I once read that we laugh at most jokes because it is a way to deal with the pain and suffering; we laugh because we can identify with the sorrow the object of the joke is experiencing and the laughter is a needed release.

Chiron opposition Pluto people often make excellent storytellers, and tellers of jokes, because of this powerful awareness.

Chiron Square NorthNode

In your horoscope Chiron is squaring the Nodal Axis. This is often recognised as a harsh aspect; however, in this arrangement Chiron has a unique function in your vocation, calling you to be consciously aware of its influence over the course of your career. This suggests that the turning points in your vocation occur when you find yourself on the margins, a foreigner in the system you are working in. It is at these critical periods when you begin to forge your own unique destiny, realizing that you feel more comfortable on the fringe or edge of your profession, rather than in the centre. This insight frees you to pursue your calling.

This aspect suggests that your calling involves integrating something more subjective and intangible into your vocation. While this leaves you feeling an outsider, the truth is that you are keenly aware of what the system needs to be whole. Chiron is the image of the archetypal mentor and healer who teaches the disenfranchised young boys to become heroic. Similarly your challenge is to embrace what has been relinquished and integrate it back into the system. You are an advocate for approaches that are not purely mechanistic, economic and based on reason. Therefore it is possible that this urge will lead you into an 'alternate' discipline, one that complements what is generally accepted. This could lead you into the areas of unorthodox healing or therapy, unusual education, or alternative philosophies. Your challenge is to integrate these with your chosen profession without the stigma of feeling an outsider. Ironically you find your place in embracing these alternate ideas in the system you are in. It is alsoimportant to recognise that it is your wound and vulnerability that lead you to your vocation, not away from it.

Chiron opposition Mars

With Chiron opposition Mars, you have a deep wound that makes you feel the need to fight. How it manifests, what battles you choose depends first of all on how much you have been able to heal. For the need to fight was brought on very young, perhaps because you felt unjustly accused of something, perhaps because it was the only way to get what you felt was rightfully yours, perhaps because you felt attacked. In any case, there are some very deep wounds here, and a lot of pain and pent up anger (or even rage).

Whatever the cause, the Houses that these two bodies fall into on your chart will show where some of your greatest battles come from in life. The sign Mars falls in will describe your fighting style, while the sign Chiron is in will describe the type of situations that make you feel like fighting. One way you can tell that you are experiencing pent up anger from the old wound is if someone ‘touches your buttons’, and the anger you feel seems way out of proportion to what the situation should warrant. You need to work on this anger, find ways to release it (sports, for example, or chopping wood, or other physical activity, or therapy), as difficult as it may seem, learn to forgive those who hurt you. You don’t have to forget to heal, but you must find a way to forgive.

As you heal from your wounds, you feel motivated to go all out to fight for those less fortunate, or for those oppressed. But until you have begun the healing path, this fighter instinct may simply manifest as a strong feeling that you can improve your life by fighting. Some situations warrant fighting, of course, but healing for you is also learning how to choose your battles, and choose when not to fight.

There are major lessons to be learned here about your masculine side (whether you are male or female, you have both an anima and an animus), which hopefully, you have learned a good bit of early in life. If not, there may develop an overpowering need to assert the self, to the point that the overcompensation distorts your lifestyle.

One of the major lessons that you must learn is to be adaptable, to try new methods when they come along to experiment. Somehow, you were deeply wounded in a way that made you feel you needed to stick to a particular method of doing things, or at the very least, there is a fear of going in to uncharted waters.

So the lesson is that there are definitely times to go off in new directions, and when you learn this, the healing has begun. Some learn it early in life while others apparently never learn it.

Until the lesson is learned, the following is a common sequence of events: you find some method that works, some plan of action, but then tend to use it continually, getting into a rut (habit). After this goes on for a while, Chiron comes along and throws a wrench into the process, the success formula doesn’t work anymore, or it produces negative results. When this occurs, you may fall down, and fall hard! Even when you don’t actually fall, you are definitely thrown off-balance, and must reorient yourself. At this point in time, depending on how you have evolved past the wound, you will usually choose one of three alternatives.

1. Make an adjustment, and then go back to some routine method of doing things. If this approach is chosen you will once again have to go through the same process in the future, and again each time you refuse to learn. Eventually, this repeated stress can have an influence on the health, producing stress-related ills.

2. Learn part of the lesson. If this is the case, you learn the virtues of trying new methods, new ways of doing things, but not the ‘why’ of the lesson. You might begin to revel in each new method. You may seek out and try to experience every new act that can be found, every new experience and sensation that exists, perhaps even inventing brand new ones. If you continue along this course you will still be confronted with Chiron throwing a wrench into the act, but you will see it as just one more new experience, or as a temporary setback. Continued long enough, there is a danger of going to excess with destructive results.

3. You rise above your past wound, and learn to be adaptable. You learn to try new things, and learn to discriminate, so that you also know when the old methods are still valid. You use new ways of doing things when the time is right. You thus build up a broad repertoire of methods and experiences to draw upon, and will be seen by others as extremely resourceful and multi-talented. Should you turn this great personal energy towards helping others, you will find a knack for coming up with the right solution for each individual problem, and often have uncanny insight into what makes people tick. You welcome each new experience, seeing it as a means, not an end.

Chiron sextile Jupiter

A sextile is a working aspect implying the need to put effort in to reap a positive result. Jupiter is abstract concepts, and when linked with Chiron it shows that there was some type of wound connected with how you understood what was going on around you. Perhaps you were made to feel that you were too literal; or perhaps the opposite, too far removed from the actual events around you is too abstract. In any event, part of this wound is a difficulty to be truly clear when to dwell on the abstract, and when to focus on the real world.

If you have not begun the healing, there is a tendency to get caught up in philosophical ideas and not realize you are drifting out beyond what is useful in the day-to-day realm. I’ve often seen this show up in the chart of a dreamer who tries to create a world that fits their abstract concepts, without realizing just how far they have strayed from reality.

The more control your wound has over you, the more you will find you are dwelling on the negative interpretation of various subject matter. But as you heal, you find that you focus more on the positive, uplifting perspective, and can lift others up as well.

As you grow, you develop the ability to catch the ‘feel’ of the times you are in, the general flavour of the current culture. You can tune in to people, and humanity, and get remarkable insights, able to see how things fit in to the larger picture.

One danger, though, comes from making use of this ability before you have grown beyond your own inner wound because your understanding gives you the ability to use your knowledge to control or manipulate others.

More positively though, as you become more whole, you have the ability to make people stop and really think. You can open people’s eyes, help them to see a much larger perspective, and you have the ability to teach others how to do this themselves.

Chiron opposition Uranus

Between 1952 and 1989 Chiron exactly opposed Uranus forty-one times, and was in orb of opposition for just about everyone born during those 47 years. Thus, it is more of a generational influence than an individual one.

Historically, you can see that this aspect is tied into the accelerated pace of scientific advancement during the second half of the Twentieth Century. Actually, one of the problems is that science is making discoveries faster than they can be integrated into society; even faster than proper safeguards can be devised for our protection from side effects and from the discoveries themselves.

This same ‘vibration’ is, in many ways, a part of the nature of individuals who have this aspect. There is a thirst for the new, for discovery, for experiences, that often outweighs the taking of any precautions. Others dare not try to curtail your freedom, the consequences may not be pleasant. The urge for independence can be so strong that it can create difficulties in relationships. The only relationships that truly last for someone with this aspect is one where each person is given a lot of space to be themselves, in truth, it is difficult to find someone sufficiently secure to give a partner that much freedom. It does give a real spirit, though.

The wound of the whole generation, though, can be summed up in the words, ‘fallen heroes’. For thousands of years, people had heroes to worship, people to look up to as almost godlike. But this generation has seen all of its heroes fall, or show very unheroic sides, or in one way or another, prove they are just like everyone else. As a result, your generation has had a wound that each person must learn to heal in his/her own way, but the lesson is to become one’s own hero to become the person you would like to look up to and respect.
