Most likely, the wound stemmed from your relationship with your father, or other male role model. Perhaps you never could understand what your parent expected of you, what they expected you to be or how they wanted you to behave, and so no matter what you did, you never received their approval to help you feel good about yourself. Or perhaps you were made to feel that you had to stay in the background, that your parent was much more important than you. No matter what, you developed into an adult with a poor sense of who you are and your potential. Everyone, male and female, has a feminine side; an anima or animus. With Chiron square Venus, there is a lot of pain deep within connected with this part of our nature. Any aspect between Chiron and Venus shows that there were major issues dealing with your sexual role, and/or your relationship with members of the opposite sex. When this aspect expresses negatively, it can be the most extreme case of being unable to deal with one’s own anima or animus as the case may be.

Perhaps you were if a male ridiculed for your feminine side as a child. Or perhaps you were not allowed to indulge in it. (I’ve seen, for example, cases where a male child was discouraged from doing things like painting, or enjoying poetry, made to feel these were ‘not appropriate’ for boys.) Another possibility is the other extreme, that you were judged for being too male, having too much ‘testosterone’, so to speak.

The healing begins when you embrace your feminine side, and find a way to balance it with your masculine side, bringing about wholeness. When the wound is really intense, I have seen some males with extreme ‘macho’ behaviour along with a lot of difficult relationships, and other males going in the exact opposite direction, becoming super-feminine and still having trouble with relationships.

This aspect does give you a completely unique taste in the arts,such that it could lead you to create a whole new style or school of art, if you express the artiste within you. You find beauty in objects others may overlook, look down on, or close their eyes to. When it comes to personal value systems, yours is distinctly unique. Many people with this aspect follow their own path privately within society; others leave society altogether. For some there arises a personal imperative to show society where and how it is wrong to teach others about false values versus true values.

Chiron trine Saturn

This aspect can make a difficult childhood because one of your parents continually surprised you. Just when you thought you knew what was expected of you, the authority symbol would pull a rabbit out of a hat, and you would have to change your thoughts on how you were supposed to be, or act, or appear. This also meant that you had to change your own self-image, and your concepts of your own limits. The surprises could be good or bad, but were surprises because they came in some area that you had felt secure in taking for granted.

This experience can bring about a number of possible results.

• For some, there seems to be a very shaky self-image because you look for a parent you can rely upon as stable. In this case you grew up with basic insecurity, and may feel that other people have ‘the answers’ but that you may never find them. • For others, you develop a powerful desire to seek a totally unchanging parent figure, such as a guru, or religious leader, or even a strict demigod figure, to model yourself after so that you can once again relax, and take for granted what ‘should be’.

• Still for others, the choice is to integrate the concept of change into the self-image, and even enjoy it. If you are this type, the world opens up as a place to explore and self-discovery becomes a great pleasure. This path also usually leads to the ability to get along with those in power because of an inner understanding and sympathy with them.

Chiron sextile Pluto

This aspect pushes you to strive for a high order of efficiency and professionalism in your life. It is not, as a rule, out of ego or desire for self-aggrandizement, but rather, it is deeply ingrained in you that if something is done right the first time, it won’t have to be repeated later. Also, you have a very real understanding that there are some things that can only be done once.
